There are a lot of reasons to like RVD.

 

He's unselfish, hard working and willing to learn to adapt to the WWF style.

There's no way in hell he Billy Gunned the KOTR.  The Invasion angle took up much of the TV time after Edge won, pushing him down the card.  There's nothing he could have done about it really.  After Invasion ran its course, Edge was kind of lost in the shuffle, I mean, when Invasion died in December (with Jericho unifying the titles), its kind of hard to go off of KOTR buzz now isn't it?  Edge just has to slowly work his way back up, and now that he's dropped the IC title, I see him moving up the card.

 

No one would have done anything with the KOTR this year.  It can't be blamed on Edge.

Edge didn't Billy Gunn the win, he's still over and he's higher up the card than he was before the win, AND he has talent, he hasn't fucked up any matches *please, Regal matches aren't his fault*.

 

I wanna know what "Ken Shamrock"ing the win means...I'm confused, especially since I mark for both of them

I'd say "Shamrocking" the KOTR would be like getting a token IC push out of it, being fairly over, but not a real threat to the main events any time soon.  Correct?

 

In regards to ECW, I followed them heavily even up to the end.  The main difference between ECW and WCW was that you could tell quite a few guys in WCW were dogging it near the end....with ECW I still saw the effort.  Even as late as Aug. 2000 ECW had damn good wrestling.  Mikey/Tajiri vs. the FBI was awesome for example.  I could go off on 3 hour long rants about how badly Heyman fucked up ECW and that while having RVD as champ might not have shown huge ratings increases, at least ECW might still be in business!  On a weird level I almost compare RVD to Hogan in the AWA.  Despite being hugely over neither guy got the world title and it killed the company (AWA took years, ECW took a few months).

They really screwed Shamrock over when he won the IC Title. RoboShamrock was the *perfect* character for him, but that damned Billy Gunn feud and losing the IC Title in that terrible 4-way at WM 15 totally fucked him to hell.

Justin Credible does suck...but the Impact players were good cocky heel tag champs.  I like the gimmick...if not half the team.

I would love it if Vince got Steve Corino out of retirement, paired him with Lance Storm, and created another New Impact Players- the two talented guys from both past incarnations! Think about it- Storm and Corino would be awesome heel tag champs.

 

But of course, that will never happen. Corino will retire and knowing my luck, Storm will continue to be the job-bitch.

That "billy gunn it" speech was pretty gay.  It's something that only smarks could get anyway.  And why you'd actually want to put over the fact that Billy Gunn sucks and is a jobber made no sense at all to me.
