Okay how's this for a match finish

Okay a babyface is making a hot comback against his hated rival, when the ref is knocked down along with the wrestlers. The heel gets up first and delivers a lowblow to the babyface and the nails his finisher, in this case a DDT. Now the heel realizes the ref is down so he drapes the babyface over the top rope, hooking his feet under the middle rope. The babyface is hanging upside down over the top rope.

The heel grabs a chair from ringside and nails the babyface in the chest/ribs with one forceful shot. The baby face is in agony as the heel grabs him back into the ring. There the heel delivers another of his DDT's just as the ref gets up. But he wants to send a message so he DDT's him two more times, waiting a few seconds between each to sell the fact that he knows exactly what he's doing and is enjoying it. He covers the destroyed babyface for the acedemic three count. The heel slithers out of the ring basking in the boos from the crowd while the babyface lies motionless in the ring. How does that sound?

It's a common sense finish.

If you hit a finisher, adn the ref is down, how is the opp. going to counter a finisher if you just nailed him with it? And if you keep nailing him with it, he shouldn't shuddenly and magicly get back up.

That's how it should be really.

You can't counter, cuz that would be no selling the finisher that just came before, with no gap.

Any finish in this day and age that involves a ref bump, is a shitty finish. So cliched and uncreative. And if he's going to take the trouble to hang him upside and all that nonsense, why not just summon the spirit of Jake Roberts and DDT him on the chair.

I was more thinking of how brutal hitting the guy smack on his chest, without protection, with a chair. I've rarely seen a wrestler take a chairshot on his chest unprotected, probably cause there's a real chance of him injuring his ribs, but I figure with the right two guys it could be done properly. The three finishers in a row was done to build sympathy heat for the babyface when he makes his miraculous return ala Steamboat vs Savage. If you don't like the ref bump he could just shove the ref get DQ'd and do all the above without the pin.

Of course it's not a 'good' finish to a match, I was thinking of a heat getting segment more than anything else.

If you've hit one finisher, and the ref is down, why not just pick them right back up and nail it again.

And again and again and again until the ref gets back up?

Because that's something you can do while the ref is still up, whacking the guy with a chair on his chest/ribs, ref goes down.

I just really want that chairshot on a guy hanging upside down over the top rope on his exposed chest. It's a cool visual

So your saying puro can't be melodramatic? Hell thats why 6/3/94 is considered to be one of the greatest matches of all time, the tragedy of Kawada. The ending and the post match stuff comes close to bringing me to tears.(comes close, mind you).

I would also like to pimp the SWF down at the very bottom of the boards. If you like writing matches and coming up with ideas for spots, you might want to look into it.

Effective pimping thier Coffin/Danny.

(If you're wonder, yes, he does write his matches like the Misawa/Kawada classics.. but better mostly)

But the chairshot idea doesn't work is that what your saying? If you saw it in a match you guys would say "That is Soooooo stupid". Great I'm thinking like Vincent K here.

We're saying it's contrived, and badly done.

And it's far to easy for the guy to really slip from the ropes, mess it up and kill all the heat.

If it was done after someone missed a dive or something, got tangled up, and it was No DQ/Hardcore, that would make it a little better.

I believe that's the finish to Sting/Bret at Havoc 98 and that match sucked balls with the rest of the card.

You know, I would normally agree. But at the same time Benoit always sells the suplexes as though HE gets worn down as well. Therefore, it's like he's exhausted as well and his opponent can, with the right timing of course, wiggle out.

Remind me to never book a match then. I'll get more heat then HHH and Dusty Rhodes combined.
