Guest dpac Report post Posted January 23, 2003 back in the 80's jack tunney was the president of the wwf, and after that many have followed being "in charge" of the wrestlers. my question is was there anyone before tunney that had an on air character that was in charge? Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Hmmm . . . good question. Tunney came around in 1984 and I really don't think/remember if anyone was before him.
Guest Frankie Williams Report post Posted January 23, 2003 The WWF president was a Japanese man who's name slips my mind right now. Ill have to look at some of my old MSG programs to get it.
Guest Corey291 Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Keep in mind, that I'm not sure just how much actual power these people held, or if they were merely powerless figureheads like Jack Tunney, but here are the WWF Presidents prior to Tunney: William Gilzenberg ? - 1978 Hisashi Shinma (Shinma is listed has being the WWF President during the same time period as Jack Tunney, which was from 1984-1995) -Corey
Guest Ace309 Report post Posted January 25, 2003 Wasn't Tunney empowered as a concession to the Canadian promoters?
