Guest GameCop Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Keller says that HHH doesn't want to work with wrestlers who are more athletic than him, which is why his matches haven't been very good lately. Perhaps HHH doesn't want to be exposed?
Guest dreamer420 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 You people believe everything you read on the net. I wouldn't.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 We don't believe everything but when it comes from reliable sources who are right 99% of the time then you come to believe it. Don't be so cynical. And yeah I would believe that. HHH does go to great lenghts to be an asshole.
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 HGH will be hard pressed to find people to wrestle who are less athletic than he is.
Guest Brian Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Let's break out a list of his last few feuds where he sold for the guy: Kane (hoss), Steiner and HBK (walking cripples). Would not be too surprised if this is true with Nash around the corner and another month of Steiner, despite the gawdawful match.

I think that has more to do with who Vince is willing to push than HHH's political manuverings.

Perhaps HHH doesn't want to be exposed? Would it be possible to get a source for this? Not just saying what site, but a quote or something, or where YOU read this at.
Guest HartFan86 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 This is hilarious...HHH is refusing to wrestle 80% of the roster.
Guest teke184 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Trips doesn't have a problem with working against a guy who's more athletic than him... he just finds a way to make them look horrible while having a shitty match. The best example I can think of for this is at Unforgiven where Trips faced RVD but insisted on having a 20 minute match in "old-school NWA" style which both negate RVD's athleticism and moveset as well as slowing him down so that Trips doesn't appear to be moving in slow motion.
Guest Downhome Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Can someone link me to where anything like this is on pwtorch.com because I can't find it anywhere.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Teke is 100% correct. That RVD match was set up to blatantly expose the weakness of another wrestler so that HHH wouldn't look like he was standing still. The funny part is that the marks don't care. There is no other motivation.
Guest GameCop Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 it's in the ASK THE TORCH THREAD.

There is no other motivation. I would find it so ironic if someone did some type of match with HHH that didn't include brawling...totally exposing HIM of what he is. Hence, that's why he won't wrestle the "Athletic" guys. I just picture this talking about Team Angle...they would completely expose HHH of what a lug he is.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 It's funny (or sad) when you think about this in detail. HHH feuds: Rumble: Scott Steiner Armageddon: Cripple HBK...gimmick match Survivor Series: Gimmick match No Mercy: Kane Unforgiven: RVD in (as Teke said) a match that made RVD use *shudders* groundwork SummerSlam: Cripple HBK...gimmick match Vengeance: Did not compete KOTR: Undertaker Judgment Day: Jericho again...this time in a gimmick match Backlash: Hogan WrestleMania: Jericho in another match that featured alot of mat work...despite being in a FUCKING HUGE ARENA IN THE MAIN EVENT OF WRESTLEMANIA. That was not a big arena match, that was something for hockey arena size. No Way Out: Angle in an overbooked mess Rumble: gimmick match. Boy,I'm sure glad he came back. The only 4 matches he had with people who can move in the entire year...one gimmick match, one match that was overbooked to high hell with his girlfriend as his central nemesis and one match that was horribly out of place and one that served to expose someone more over than he was/is/will ever be again.
Guest Downhome Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 it's in the ASK THE TORCH THREAD. Thank you.
Guest HartFan86 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Vengeance: Did not compete Even though he took up 20 minutes for himself and HBK.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I didn't say he didn't suck. I just said he didn't compete. He still needs his airtime on ppv to get his payoff from the show.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 This is kind of messed up. If HHH refuses to work with people who are better than him...I get the feeling he's going to refuse to lose the title to someone who he deems worse than him too. sigh
Guest GameCop Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Check it out in the first post. Finally, there's the proof!
Guest DeputyHawk Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 i think there's probably a little bit of both in it. i'm sure hhh only wants to work with people he wouldn't want to show him up. that's understandable - the guy's body is his career and it's falling apart. if that gets exposed, he's done for. but also if vince wanted to put him in matches with the more athletic guys if he thought the drawing potential of those feuds outweighed losing whatever credibility hhh has with the marks, he would do it in a second. but he obviously doesn't because he respects hhh's wishes. you can only play to the strengths of your talents, not their weaknesses. it wouldn't make sense to do so.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Since the WWF's mentality is always bigger guy beats smaller guy and smaller guys are beneath bigger guys, should anyone really be suprised by this?
LaParkaYourCar Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I'm a HHHater and even I don't find this one believable...he did wrestle HBK.
Guest Trivia247 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I'm a HHHater and even I don't find this one believable...he did wrestle HBK. HBK is more or less his friend, and despite the fact he does surprise us in his return, he is still slower and spots are more methodically timed. HHH let HBK do his thing and even gave him the win, with him gettin the last laugh constantly. HHH wrestled RVD purely out of pressure, and in the end got his jerked win out of it. Which started the management of Ric Flair. It doesn't surpise me this rumor because this is alot like what we already assume of our "GOD OF WRESTLING"

Cue Price is Right theme music!
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Good thing he's not refusing to work with people more over then him...cause that's a hefty list
Conspiracy_Victim Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I just had a sudden horrible image of HHH wrestling, say, Eddie G. after some weird trade. The match is set, both competitors are getting set to tie up, and then HHH smirks as The Fink announces, "This match will be wrestled under Bill Watts rules! No moves off of or using the top rope will be allowed!" We then get a 20 minute match of restholds as Eddie furiously tries to come up with something. HHH wins with a sleeper, the crowd boos like they just got sugar poured in their collective gas tanks. HHH blames Eddie not being able to work the correct style, Eddie jobs to Batista for the next 6 months.
Guest Mole Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Why the hell did you put the webpage into this thread? That makes NO sense. You could of just used a link, it fills up the whole page. Dumb ass. If Triple-Juice doesn't wanna wrestle people more athletic than him, what's up with RVD?
Guest jester Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 HHH shouldn't worry. It's the smaller agile guys' job to pull a good match out of the big useless lumps. Just ask Edge.
Guest wwF1587 Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 im not sure if i believe it or not but it wouldnt suprise me...
Guest Whatmaniac Posted January 25, 2003 Report Posted January 25, 2003 If HHH is worried about being exposed, then wouldn't it make more sense for him to surround himself with the best workers in the company? That way he will always look like a good wrestler even in his injured state.
