Guest SuperTonyJaymz Report post Posted January 26, 2003 AS just likes caviar over Tuna And, while I dont hate brock, isn't it funny that Benoit got super over in one match, while it tooks 6 months and The Rock to get Brock over? And people say Benoit has no charisma....
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 26, 2003 If you really look at it, between the RAW stuff Brock was being handled horribly and when he went to RAW and finally looked more like someone on his level rather than someone who was killing mid-carders but selling copious amounts of offense for them, he got over as a heel really quicky. Outside of Eddy and maybe an Angle TV match from two years ago, where are the other RVD "good" matches? Fun and good in this case are mutually exclusive. Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted January 26, 2003 And, while I dont hate brock, isn't it funny that Benoit got super over in one match, while it tooks 6 months and The Rock to get Brock over? See, that's what I was trying to get at earlier, and I don't mind Brock either, but these are the facts - it took relentless promoting. There was that pre-Summerslam video package of his rigourous training schedule, as well as commercials. And finally, a moniker ('Next Big Thing') that basically screams "I am the best and I am the future whether you want to accept it or not" so finally the fans had to do just that, and in addition it took the fans' existing disdain for the Rock to get that ball rolling. Angle/Benoit for RR received one video package and one commercial, both done less than a week before the PPV. It took a backseat to HHH/Steiner yet blew it out of the water. And if WWE refuses to capitalize with Benoit then they're more idiotic than I thought, and that's saying something.
