Dopey IMO was cool, he throw out scripture for all to read when you had a question. (you know you don't read your bibles). Anyhow, why would you ban such a man as Dopey was: Smart, Gifted in the Holy Spirit of God, and Loving to all of his fellow brothers. I am bubble boy and Dopey was my friend on this board, give me a valid reason on why Dopey was kicked off.......DR. TOM!!!!!

Bubble Boy, I didn't have a problem with Dopey, at least not in the sense that most of the people here did. I disagreed with his method of presenting himself and the Gospel. Throwing out scripture amounts to nothing if you never really apply it to anything or attempt to break it down and explain why you're using it to aid in a discussion.

 

It becomes annoying, and annoying people with aspects of religion isn't going to get people's attention, at least not in the way I would think Dopey was trying to. Should he have been banned? I honestly don't have an opinion on that. Would I have liked to have seen him calm down and have rational, personal discussions not clouded with scripture that wasn't explained? Yes. Very much so. Had he not been annoying, I'm sure Dopey and I could have had some great discussions.

Dopey was previously banned here under the name Sola Gratia. I suspected that Dopey was Sola, but I didn't know for certain until he came out and said it. When he did, the axe fell.

 

Also, it could be said that a lot of his staunch pro-religion posts were flame-baiting. He knew the reaction he would get, and he deliberately posted content in an in-your-face manner to draw that reaction. If you want to be a Jesus freak, fine. But tossing a bunch of Bible passages and you're-all-going-to-burn-in-hell preachy crap into a Current Events thread is inviting the flames.

First, that's a contradiction in terms.

 

Second, he isn't the only Christian on the board you know. Flaming him is fine, but going after parts of our religious culture in an effort to do so more than singles him out, it goes after the lot of us in a way. I'm being civil: please think before flaming like that again.
