Monday Night RAW 2.25.02

 

We’re live, and JR reminds the viewers that tonight Stone Cold takes on Undisputed Champ Chris Jericho in a title match!  Another huge match sees n.W.o. members Hall, Nash, and X-Pac clash with the Undertaker and the APA in a 6-man tag match!  JR reminds us that Vince McMahon has suspended the Rock, and he will not be back until one week from tonight.  Let’s get to the action…

 

Match 1 – Jeff Hardy w/Matt vs. Booker T w/Test

 

If Jeff wins, then the Hardy Boyz get a tag title shot against Booker T and Test on Smackdown!  Booker starts strong and dominates with some kicks and suplexes, but Jeff soon turns the tide and gains an advantage.  Test attempts to interfere, but Matt makes the save.  Booker T is distracted by the fighting outside the ring, and Jeff Hardy rolls him up for a schoolboy pin and the win…1,2,3!!!  The Hardyz get their shot on Smackdown!

 

***HHH arrives backstage, and he is hell-bent on finding Vince McMahon after the n.W.o. beat down that HHH received on Smackdown! (cut to commercial)

 

Match 2 – Dudleyz w/Stacy vs. Tazz/Maven (tables match)

 

JR says the doctors have advised Spike Dudley to remain backstage, as he is still nursing injuries from last week’s Dudleyz attack.  Maven starts off with D-Von and this match is underway.  Great exchanges by both teams until the end, when Stacy Keibler tries to get involved… and here comes Spike running down the ramp with a chair, and a neckbrace on.  He looks like he’s going to drill Stacy Keibler with the chair, but instead turns around and decks Tazz!!!  Dudleyz get the 3-D on Tazz and Maven through the tables!  Spike rips the neckbrace off and stands over the fallen Tazz, and is taunting him.  It appears Spike has turned heel and joined up with his brothers!  JR says something about those Damn Dudleyz.

 

***Backstage, Stone Cold has arrived, and he looks pumped for his World Title shot tonight vs. Chris Jericho!

 

Match 3:  Euro. Title Match:  Ch. DDP vs. Christian w/Lance Storm

 

They replay the footage of how Christian won the tag match from Smackdown (Lance Storm hit DDP with a superkick, and Kane accidentally chokeslammed Christian on top of DDP).  This leads to the title match tonight.  DDP commands the early going, but Christian soon gains an advantage.  DDP mounts the comeback, and the ref gets bumped!  In comes Lance Storm with the superkick on DDP… and here comes Kane running down to ringside!  Christian hits the Unprettier on DDP as Kane and Storm brawl at ringside… the ref rolls over and counts….1….2…3!!! Winner and new Euro. Champ Christian!  After the match Kane comes in and demolishes Christian.

 

***HHH has found Vince, and he starts giving him a real piece of his mind, when Kurt Angle walks up inquiring about the whereabouts of Ric Flair.

 

Vince:  Kurt, I know you’re upset… and HHH is upset, let’s kill 2 birds with one stone… you 2 get to face each other on Smackdown.  How does that sound Kurt?  

 

Kurt:  Sounds damn good… oh it’s true!  But I still want to talk to Ric Flair, dammit.

 

HHH:  Come Wrestlemania… you’re gonna be kissing my ass, Vince.  But this Thursday I’ll be kicking yours, Kurt! (commercial)

 

***Lance Storm issues a challenge to Kane for a match on Smackdown, and Kane accepts!

 

Match 4:  Regal v. Mr. Perfect v. RVD v. Rikishi (winner gets IC Title shot next RAW)

 

The match is pretty intense… about halfway through, the lights go out… and when they come back up RVD has disappeared, and there is gold glitter all around the ring?!?  JR says it has to have something to do with Goldust!  Rikishi takes care of Mr. Perfect and throws him out of the ring, but Regal comes at him hard.  Hurricane and Molly walk down to the ring to watch Regal, and Regal gets distracted long enough for Rikishi to hit the standing sidekick and a BUTT-splash to pick up the 1,2,3!!!  Jazz runs down and pulls Regal from the ring.

 

***Backstage, Regal and Jazz challenge Hurricane and Molly to a tag match on Smackdown, and the dynamic duo accepts!  (cut to commercial)

 

***In the back, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson are talking… when up walk Cruiserweight Champ Tajiri and Torrie Wilson.  Tajiri says something and hands Flair the Light Heavyweight Title that X-Pac threw in the trash on Smackdown!  

 

Flair:  What’s that Tajiri?  You want this belt too?  Well, X-Pac may have trashed this belt, but I can’t just hand it to you.  Tell you what… I’ll find 2 suitable opponents to face off next week here on RAW… and the winner of this gets the LH Title, and then gets the right to face you at Wrestlemania to unify these two titles… how’s that sound?

(Tajiri seems to be satisfied with that)  Ok, whoooooo!!!!

 

Match 5:  Undertaker/APA vs. Hall, Nash, & X-Pac

 

JR recounts the Undertaker’s face turn on Smackdown, and how he’s joined forces with the APA to try and take down the n.W.o. tonight!  This match appears to be quite standard, and the finish sees X-Pac drill the ‘Taker with a chair, and Hall hits the Razor’s Edge for the 1,2,3… the n.W.o. wins!  The fans boo loudly.  X-Pac gets on the mic and comments on how the Rock isn’t here to save ‘Taker’s ass like the ‘Taker has been saving his lately, and they all have a good laugh.  ‘Taker and the APA rebound and clear the ring… and Undertaker throws down a challenge to X-Pac for Smackdown!

 

Match 6:  World Title Match:  Ch. Chris Jericho w/Steph vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin

 

Both men make their way down, and this one is quite the slobberknocker!  Austin finally gains the clear advantages after many changes in pace, and hits the Stone Cold Stunner!  Just then, the n.W.o. music hits, and their video comes on the TitanTron.  Austin looks up the ramp, but Hollywood Hogan enters through the crowd and hits Stone Cold with a baseball bat!  The referee signals for the bell, and Stone Cold wins via DQ, Jericho retains the Title!  Hogan gets on the mic…

 

Hogan:  What’s wrong Steve?  You come up just a little short again when it involves winning the World Title back?  Hahahaha!!!  Ya see, winning the World Title right now is not my number one priority… but keeping Stone Cold from winning it is!  Austin, as long as Hollywood Hogan is in the WWF, you will not be champion, brotha… I am going to make your life a living hell!!!  And that’s why tonight, I’m challenging you to a match at Wrestlemania, brotha!!!!

 

Just then, HHH runs down and begins attacking Jericho, who has walked halfway up the ramp.  Kurt Angle runs out and begins attacking HHH also as security tries to separate them!  Hogan takes advantage of the diversion and runs up the ramp past security, leaving Austin a bloody mess in the ring.  Stone Cold finally makes it to his feet.

 

Austin:  Oh is that right, Hulkster?  You wanna face the Texas Rattlesnake at Wrestlemania????  If you people wanna see ol’ Stone Cold whip this old bastard’s ass at Wrestlemania, gimme a ‘Hell Yeah’! (HELL YEAH!!!!)  I think that’s your answer, right there, Hogan.  And oh yeah… Stone Cold-Mania will be running wild in Toronto, brotha!!!  (Austin drinks some beers as the show goes off)
