Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted January 27, 2003 The Bears defence in Super Bowl XX was by far the best.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Well, you know Oakland will be rioting. That's almost a given.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted January 27, 2003 The Bears defence in Super Bowl XX was by far the best. Im talking more the whole season than just the Super Bowl.. And..Who woulda thought that the Bucs would be the ones to score 48 pts in the Super Bowl?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted January 27, 2003 I thought they would get 35.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Next year in Houston the Ravens will beat the snot out of the Bucs...you heard it here first! Also, what the heck is up with Bon Jovi doing every single NFL event that requires a musical performance???
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Well.....I was wrong. I may not like Tampa, but I feel happy knowing that Raiders fans everywhere are crying in their spiked shoulderpads right about now. $100 says there's a riot in Oakland anyway. Oh, and watch Jimmy Kimmel's talk show tonight. With a writing crew that has BOTH Bill Simmons AND Joel Robinson, it's gotta be good.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted January 27, 2003 One thing, the Bucs are not fucking WORLD CHAMPIONS.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted January 27, 2003 I watched the 4th quarter and that was it....I was too spoiled with last year's Super Bowl...I knew this one wasn't going to hold up. Ah well.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted January 27, 2003 One thing, the Bucs are not fucking WORLD CHAMPIONS. Umm..what exactly would they be??
Guest treble charged Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Super Bowl champions, yes. But did they beat any team from outside of the US? No, therefore, they are not WORLD CHAMPIONS.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted January 27, 2003 You know the NFL wanted the Raiders to win so they could sell more merch...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Dexter Jackson is MVP..but Dwight Smith has 2 Ints and 2 TDs.. Jackson's two early Ints were more important. Also one of Smith's TDs came in garbage timeand shouldn't count towards being named MVP.

Guest Kinetic Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Well, I feel validated. I've been saying it all year. I've shouted it from the mountaintops. I put it in my sig. No one believed me. Oh, no...Tampa Bay are choke artists. They can't win in the cold, they can't win on the road in the postseason, they don't have an offense...there's no way they're winning the Super Bowl! What now, bitches? What now? I tried to told y'all motherfuckers.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted January 27, 2003 That was a fun game. I love it when a defense dominates. Heck, Tampa's defense scored like 3 TD's by themselves. That is more than the Oakland did. I am glad that the Raiders were blown out. They did not even seem to show up until the 2nd half anyway.
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted January 27, 2003 You didn't have to tell me, Kinetic...I said everything you said... Wooooooo... I say again
Guest Bricks Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Wow! I totally underestimated the Bucs D. I knew they were good... but not *this* good. I don't think they're 2000 Ravens level, but they're just notches down. Congrats Bucs!

What now, bitches? What now? I tried to told y'all motherfuckers. Yet the Buccaneers had accomplished ANY of this prior to this year. The reason everyone believed the Buccaneers could not win in the cold, was because THEY'VE NEVER WON IN THE COLD. What, 0 for 176? Add to that the fact that their offense had been abysmal since 1998, and they were, prior to this year, still seeking a postseason win on the road. But yet, there's a FIRST for everything. Congratulations Tampa Bay: you finally earned it, and you definitely deserve it.

Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Super Bowl champions, yes. But did they beat any team from outside of the US? No, therefore, they are not WORLD CHAMPIONS. They Buccs can play the Alouettes or the Barnstormers to see who the true World Champion of American Football is.

But you can't rely on precedents for this sort of thing. Anyone who was paying attention would have recognized that this Buccaneers team was vastly superior to any other team in franchise history from about week ten on. And some people picked Chicago to beat them in the last week of the season? Come on, people. That's the type of shit that really upset me and makes this validation so rewarding. But even I never expected them to be this dominant in the postseason. They were clearly the best and most motivated team in the playoffs and it paid off tonight. Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted January 27, 2003 The Bucs won because they seemed to be the only team in the final four that actually cared. So more power to them, they deserved to win.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted January 27, 2003 I haven't followed the NFL since the Buccaneers embarassed themselves by not having a coach in early February. They must of finished 0-16, or did they get lucky and win 1 game?
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Hey, again I say, they played their asses off and pounded the #1 offense in the NFL, into submission. Kinetic, you rode them all the way into San Diego, making you a true fan who has stuck by them. But to say that we were blind to not expect Tampa Bay to erase all doubts of the curses, streaks and records, well...that's hard to swallow. ESPECIALLY considering their history. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted January 27, 2003 The Bucs won because they seemed to be the only team in the final four that actually cared. I really think the Giants cared. They just got lazy in their game against the 49ers... I guess they just didn't care enough.
Guest Bricks Report post Posted January 27, 2003 I think Tennessee cared too. Well, McNair did anyways.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted January 27, 2003 I don't think anyone really should have expected it, but a lot of people totally dismissed them outright based on factors that are no longer relevant. The cold weather thing, like I said before the Chicago game, is misleading: They lost most of those games when they were an awful team who had trouble winning games in any weather. It's a moot point now, but I felt that a lot of people were more dismissive of them than they would have been of a team of comparable talent in a more storied franchise.
