Guest Brian Posted March 11, 2002 Report Posted March 11, 2002 If anyone wants to complain about pushes, Jericho should have gone to the top after this match because he was so ungodly over. People are literally jumping up and down and hugging each other because he wins. They need to build another heel like that too.
Guest treble charged Posted March 11, 2002 Report Posted March 11, 2002 I remember that match, I was going nuts. I called up my friend (who worked until 9:15) to see if he saw the match. Quite a mark-out moment. HHH had some good moments around that time (that Jericho match, plus the match against TAKA). The early part of 2000 was an awesome time for the WWF.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted March 11, 2002 Report Posted March 11, 2002 The one thing you ned to remember is that the crowd would've marked out if "Mr. Hands Under Their Asses" Billy Gunn had won the title. Jericho was over, yes, but IMO, needed a little bit more seasoning before being pushed to the top totally.
Guest dreamer420 Posted March 11, 2002 Report Posted March 11, 2002 The crowd was popping like that because HHH lost the title, and because he was so hated the heat was off the chart.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted March 11, 2002 Report Posted March 11, 2002 Just like GG said before, when Billy Gunn fought HHH on that Raw, the crowd was incredibly into the match. Billy seemed to be winning the title. It wasn't really because he was so over, because he was heel the night before. It was more the fact that HHH was hated so much. If he could pull off that kind of heat again, he may have a chance to be salvaged. Screw the face run, heel HHH rules.
Guest Brian Posted March 11, 2002 Report Posted March 11, 2002 Jericho had a certain swagger and popularity to him that made it that much better for the people who were there. It wasn't just because it was HHH.
