Guest Mole Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 1. ``Darkness Falls,'' $12.5 million. 2. ``Kangaroo Jack,'' $11.9 million. 3. ``Chicago,'' $8.5 million. 4. ``Just Married,'' $7.5 million. 5. ``National Security,'' $7.4 million. 6. ``The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers,'' $6.9 million. 7. ``Catch Me If You Can,'' $6.6 million. 8. ``Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,'' $6 million. 9. ``About Schmidt,'' $5.5 million. 10. ``The Hours,'' $4 million.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Well it's always good to see a horror movie at the top. Even better when it's a horror movie that looks good. Overall that's a good Top Ten List. It's too bad that Kangaroo Jack, Just Married and National Security are on it, but seven out of ten is a good percentage.
Guest Angle-plex Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Does this mean we get to look foward to more of this new, cheap scare, no-plot horror genre?
Guest the pinjockey Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 How widely released was Confessions? If it was released widely and still floundered that would suck.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 How widely released was Confessions? If it was released widely and still floundered that would suck. 1769 screens, up from the 5 it was on last week. Chicago was only on about 600, and the Hours about 500. And as of last week Signs is still on 71 screens, it was the 50th top grossing movie of that week making $50,182.
Guest CanadianChick Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Kangaroo Jack is in the top ten? Oh boy.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Um...of course it would be. You don't fall out of the top ten after being #1 the week before.
Guest CanadianChick Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Sorry, I didn't realize that it was #1 last week. I'm just shocked at the amounts of people going to see it, that's all.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 It's the only kid friendly movie in a sea of "adult themed" movies so it has an audience that is exclusive to it.
Guest Angle-plex Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I just saw Confessions and it was pretty cool. I'm sure it's better than Darkness Falls at least.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I thought that the kid in Darkness was the same kid from The Ring for the longest time...
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Damn, KJ made $10+ million again!?! Oh the humanity...
Guest Lethargic Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 How widely released was Confessions? If it was released widely and still floundered that would suck. It's all Bill O'Reilly's fault.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 LOL -- "F" Clooney (sp?). It would break my heart to learn he has an incurable disease. I bet Bill mentions the low box-office figure Monday...
Guest bravesfan Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 And as of last week Signs is still on 71 screens, it was the 50th top grossing movie of that week making $50,182. Ho-lee shit...isn't Signs already out on DVD?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 And as of last week Signs is still on 71 screens, it was the 50th top grossing movie of that week making $50,182. Ho-lee shit...isn't Signs already out on DVD? Yeah, you'd be amazed at the shit that's still on big screens around the world. The Transporter made a little over $2,000 last week on 3 screens, in 83rd place Solaris is still on 8 screens, made $8,000 last week, in 68th place Star Wars Episode 2 took in $38,000 last week, still on 8 screens, in 55th place and the 96th highest grossing movie of last week is called "The Crockets", it's showing on one screen and took in $90 http://movies.yahoo.com/boxoffice/latest/rank.html
Guest Lethargic Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I just noticed that Main in Manhatten is less than 9 million away from breaking 100. Gangs is still 34 mill away and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind can't even make 10. Shoot me. Please shoot me.
