Guest Justwitty Report post Posted January 27, 2003 I thought it was hilarious. I've been an SNL fan for several years and this season has been a disappointment on the whole so far. This gave me hope though that maybe the writers can turn it around. Kattan as Gollum was unbelievably funny and this is coming from someone who thinks Chris should have left two years ago. I'm also a Jeff Richards mark so seeing him get a great reaction from the crowd made me feel all warm on the inside. (It totally made up for the lame Drunk Girl bit earlier in the season. The jello shots line was classic.) Seth was awesome as Kenny G (the facial expressions cracked me up) and Will Forte has the funniest face in the history of the show. He just looks...funny. Not in a weird way, in a comic way. Him just standing there made me crack up during the American Idol parody. Oh, and congrats to Dean Edwards for not only having the funniest bit of the special with the Don Cheadle parody but for also making it on the show itself. Also, special kudos to Chris Parnell just being an awesome cast member who never needs to showboat. One last note...if I never hear Idiot Boyfriend again, it'll be too soon. A lot of my friends had the same reaction as you though after the game, being unaware that they even aired a special. Guess they did a lackluster job promoting it. Plus it ran over and I missed the opening kickoff. And with that avatar and high-larious post in today's RAW thread, justwitty is the best new guy we've got in a long time. If he likes NewsRadio, it's over. I'm not the biggest Kattan fan either (is there one on this board?), but the Gollum/Smeagel thing doesn't seem very easy to pull off, and he did it quite well, I thought. I've got 95 of the 97 episodes on tape and have been trying to convert my friends here at college to worship at the altar of the Good Sir Lord Bill of McNeal. Thanks for the compliments guys. (We only disagree on Jeff Richards but our Seth Meyers worship shall pull us through.)
