Should there be a double turn at WM

How about HHH and Steph claiming it was a "fake" break up to screw with Jericho?  Automatically turns HHH back into a monster heel and turns Jericho face in Canada.  Could even lead to a feud where Jericho chases HHH for the title for a few months.  May even be logical if Rock and Austin are too busy with their nWo feud to chase the title.  

 

Unfortunately, leaves Angle out of the title picture for the time being.

As much as I would like to see a heel Trips come back to the darkside, I don't really want to see your scenario. My reasoning is that it goes back to what everyone and their grandma was complaining about the last year. It's another turn and it doesn't benefit anyone in the long run. Plus HHH the face, while not great, is not as bad as people here make him out to be. However Jericho the face is a bad thing. The best thing the wwf did all of the last year was making Jericho a heel. Jericho the face would get lost in the shuffle of faces the wwf already has and would get de-pushed faster than Jericho the heel because his heel persona is FRESH! His face character the from WM 17 til the turn this fall was like dog shit in the street. It just sat there and stank.

Absolutely true.  I would not be able to stand Jericho as a face because that is the whole reason he started getting stale to me.  HHH as a heel would be cool, but it can't happen to abruptly ( Although Angle's aborted face run was pretty abrupt).  I think they will keep them in their same roles for a while, but the way HHH is going right now,  Vince may be wise to turn him heel sooner or later, so that he can utilize his full potential.

I really don't like the fake breakup scenario.. I've just seen enough 'turns' where it turns out the McMahons were in cahoots all along.  And Jericho should be allowed to go as a heel for a while longer.  It's where he's at his best.

 

I wouldn't do anything too rash just because the event is in Canada.

Yeah, really. We've seen the Evil McMahon "it was a plan the entire time" angle enough. Steph just cost HHH a match at the last ppv, it would be pretty stupid to have them reveal it was all an evil plot.

I think they should wait before turning HHH heel. Waiting until he is a mid-term face, so that it makes a bigger impact when he turns.

Jericho was best as a heel when he was in his final couple of months in WCW.  The Jericho that wasn't being a pussy, and didn't have to rely on a dq or messed up ending.  The Jericho that ripped on Goldberg.  The Jericho with Ralphus.  Now that was a great heel.  (note that i could be wrong with my facts, but I did like Jericho's WCW heel run more than his entire WWF run.)

 

HHH doesn't cut it as a face.  I don't buy it at all.  Im sick of the egocentric faces (ie. the rock and hhh).

 

I don't know who is involved in the "My name is Jericho and I'm a pussy."  and "I'm the Game-ah, and I am a Face-ah." crap but, like everyone has said before, they need to get fired.  Then some actual wrestling fans need to come in and start writing the scripts and booking the matches.  Who the #### thought that wrestling fans wanted to become soap opera fans?

####, I missed this place. Anyways, Trips is mucb better as a heel. I talked about Trips being overshadowed from long time ago if Hall, Nash, and HBK returned and so far I have been right. Trips and Steph reuniting is a bit much I agree, but not far fetched. The storyline doesn't even have to explain it was all a plan to swerve Jericho. It can be that Steph and Trips have just made up. I mean it has been a lover's quarrel basically. Trips isn't bad as a face, but at this rate Rock and Austin eat him alive.

maybe a hhh turn the next night or at Backlash, but even that kills one of the potential ideas for the split (steph getting half of everything). I dont think its a great idea but it would fit storyline logic

You see I don't think Jericho HAS to turn to face. Yes, he will get a face pop here in Toronto if HHH joins Steph again(you know that interview on the sports network makes me think they will really use the shoot that Steph and Trips are together). Still I can see Jericho coming off BETTER as a heel because of it. Give Jericho that heat Angle had when he just lost the title to Rock last year. Jericho going nuts and saying he was screwed out of his title and the whole conspiracy thing. I believe that is the best way to push Jericho.

 

As Trips said he needs that SOMETHING to really get to Rock/Austin/Triple H drawing power level. I say the same with Kurt Angle as well. It was there around this time last year, but the wwf goofed on Angle during the comedy bits. I REALLY think the split/titles with Steph is a recipe for disaster. The title shouldn't split on a storyline like that. It should split with a controversial match. I could see Triple H winning in a controversy with Stephanie begging her father that Jericho is the real champion. Splitting the titles like that. Not someting along the lines of splitting everything 50/50. That's just hokey.

I really think that Jericho needs to be a Heel. HHH is better as a Heel but should have longer in the Face role to make the turn mean something. The problem with Jericho is he needs the titles to be over. Unless they do an Owen with the slammys type deal. Maybe give him the Million dollar or the Euro belt and have him act as if it's more important than the Unified title.

I think this is where they are going with the whole angle. The infamous double turn. Would it be too much for the guys just to wrestle their asses off and provide a clean finish? Fuck! It's not that hard to do. That's the only prediction I haven't heard someone say about this match...a clean finish. How sad is that?

I can see it happening, mainly because Stephanie will want to be a major part of the show and reuiniting with HHH (after teasing the pedigree) would help her do exactly that.

 

Jericho doesn't need to go back to his stale face charachter either, he could be popular but have more shades of grey than he had before

 

HHH as the heel and Jericho as the good guy makes sense too based on their size, it's much easier to suspend belief if the bad guy is a huge moster and the hero is the under dog..

no turns, especially a double turn in his match.  a number of reasons: its too soon after trips return, and he hasnt had too long as a face (angle had a number of months), there are too many ME heels as it is (jericho, angle, nWo), jericho is stale as a face, and i also dont think the fans would buy a turn from either guy yet.  it would be dead in the water before it began.

god no, lita should be off my tv completely.  they started building to a lita turn on SD in the backstage vignette, so maybe its a hardyz/duds turn.  although i think the match which most needs a double turn is booker/edge, as edge is stale, and the fans seem to have been wanting to cheer book for a while.  though i think talk of a double turn is pointless, as none of these matches have the talent to pull it off, and in both cases would be pretty much out of the blue.  i say keep the face/heel lines where they are at mania, and start to work on some turns for backlash and beyond.

I can see a Book-Edge double turn. Book loses to Edge. Offers to shake his hand. Fans appreciate sportsmanship. Later on, Edge interferes in the RVD match. Helps RVD win and turns on him after the match. Viola! New face and new heel.

I think the fans want to cheer the Duds. It doesn't help that their heel turn was unexplained at the time.

 

As for letting them being uber-heels, unless you are the Two Man power Trip, you aren't going to get that opportunity.

No.  Jericho has been played as a face, and it killed his career for about a year.  Jericho has been much, much better as a heel throughout his career and it should stay that way for at least another year.

 

I also would like to see HHH remain face for a while.  People may say he's a boring face, but he was a boring heel post-1999 too IMO.  You can only be pissed over nothing, proclaim yourself The Game, and bitch about wanting to be WWF Champion.  I also would like to see HHH stray away from anything to do with Steph too, while still being a face.  HHH is a better wrestler as a face too, IMO.

 

To conclude, Jericho = Heel, much like Angle = Heel, that's just who they are.
