Guest Choken One Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I was wondering as I read about Worchester getting Backlash, What Venues or Cities have historically been WWE's best places. Obviously, Madison Square Garden would easily rank Number one. Also, What are The Worst Venues and Cities? And what places get TOO many visits? Obvisouly, I'd say Nassau gets FAR to much WWE.

Guest treble charged Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Although I guess Toronto has been a good place for them historically, I think they go there too often (even though I'll be going to Raw at the ACC in February). Most places in Canada usually have hot crowds, too, but some places aren't visited enough (*cough* Ottawa *cough*). Long Island gets a lot of visits too, and I think they might have over-exposed that market.

I attended a Raw taping at the Air Canada Centre in September of 2001 and Albert vs Mike Awesome was the dark match. I then heard it. The chant you never thought would make it's presence felt. " Let's go Albert" *Clap clap clap clap clap* We also chanted "Go Leafs Go" during the Undertaker vs Test match.

I hate it that people thing we suck because of the crowds in Anaheim. If you live in this area you know there is a big difference between us and the people of Orange County. Orlando is also a great city. It is usually the only hot crowd in Florida. Chicago is awesome as well.

(about once or twice a year...although I will gladly take Wrestlemania in exchange for the rare visits.) I would place Seattle in the Top 10 as far as crowd heat goes but my top 5 based on watching on TV would go: 1) NYC, Madison Square Garden. Without a doubt. 2) Montreal. Always a hot crowd. 3) Chicago. I love their fanbase. Very rabid, very passionate. 4) Boston. There is a reason they travel there so much. 5) I'm not sure on #5 so I will take the word of those saying Los Angeles and put them at number 5. Worst cities? I'm not sure...any city can be hot given the right crowd.

HHH and the Radicals vs. Cactus, Rock and Too Cool? That crowd was hotter than hell. Of course, the crowds here in Boston and Worcester have pretty much been good for WWF/E shows. *Still loving the standing O for Benoit at the Fleetcenter*

INSANE crowd. I think Buffalo's crowds have been dead in recent years because ECW spoiled us by coming here like bi-monthly between 1997-1999. Now we need highspots to get us "into it".

Probably due to the fact that the WWE ignored us from January 98 to July 99 and didn't hold one show there. At the last Smackdown they had here, Not a single person was sitting down during the UnAmericans-Hogan/Rock match.

Royal Rumble '98 was held in San Jose. Not Anaheim. I remember because I attended the show. It was RR '99 where Rock destroyed Mankind.

New York, with MSG will always be number one since that is quite literally where the WWE headquartered itself for the last forty years. Montreal, or maybe even Calgary, is probably number two as the WWE has always had a strong draw there, especially since they owned Canada during the losing end of ratings war. I think Chicago is their New York of the Mid-west as that is where they started to go into when they headed for the mid-West as they always have hot crowds and generally good attendance. After that, you just can generally move from the East to the West and find how the WWE looks at things in terms of touring and such.

The only case I can remember them not sitting on their hands was SummerSlam 2k2. Didn't a Smackdown taping take place at Nassau and the crowd was so dead that Heyman had to actually berate them for not doing anything? Could've been somewhere else. Don't really know how we (the San Francisco Bay Area) are. I almost always go to live shows here. We get about 2 visits a year from the WWE, I'd imagine we're a hot crowd.

I know that Nassau usually sucks, but I was happy that it wasn't that bad for SummerSlam, for LI atleast. In Connecticut, we usually get events all the time. It makes sense since WWE's offices is in CT. Everytime it's in CT, I'm there. It always seems hot when your there, so is it? When I saw that Raw was in Chicago tonight, I was really happy because I knew the crowd would be REALLY hot. MSG, Chicago, Philly, anywhere in Canada, Boston, and LA all seem to be great crowds.
