Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted January 28, 2003 Oh, sh*t -- that's funny. I gotta check this show out. Do you think he'll ever get one of those Fox NFL pre-game guys on his show -- Bradshaw, Long, Collinsworth? THAT would be must-see-TV...
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted January 28, 2003 What time does Kimmel on in your area? Because he doesn't start until midnight here.
Guest Mole Report post Posted January 28, 2003 Yes, this show is the best thing on late night television.
Guest Justwitty Report post Posted January 28, 2003 I agree with molestomp. This show is hilarious and after seeing the first two episodes, it seems to be melding the best elements of Conan O'Brien and Craig Kilborn and putting on a side-splitting show. (The relaxed atmosphere and cocky nature of the host reminds me of Kilborn, the wacky antics and belly laugh humor makes me think of Conan.) Absolutely loved the "How many times have you been shot?" line that Mik mentioned earlier.
Guest Mole Report post Posted January 28, 2003 Plus the fact that Kimmel is just an everyday guy like you and me. I love Connan, but sometimes the show is just too silly for my tastes. So far, Kimmel isn't silly at all, just plain ol' funny.

So far, Kimmel isn't silly at all, just plain ol' funny. I agree 100%. I prefer Kilborn over Conan but he can be a bit too smug for my liking like Conan can be too silly for yours. Jimmy just seems in awe that he has a forum to outlet his brand of comedy on such a wide scale. A "Can you believe they let ME do this?" vibe. (even the Bilzzard thing didn't come off too silly...just a really funny dig at NBC and a funny idea on its own.)

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted January 28, 2003 Hey, what's the formula for his show? Example: Does he do long/short monologue, skits, when to the guest appear, etc... I'm watching it as we speak...Kimmel doesn't do a monologue, per se. The show begins, as he just sits down at his desk, does a few jabs at certain individuals or companies. Kimmel then introduces his co-host, followed by a few more co-host assisted jabs, then starts the show with the first guest. At this point, he hasn't transitioned to the 2nd guest yet (which Conan uses a skit to accomplish), so that is still to be figured out. IMO, the format seems better than all the rest of the "Late Night Kings". The stand-up monologue is a tired act, and be should be buried immediately.
Guest Bricks Report post Posted January 28, 2003 I hope the next co-host is as cool as Snoop Dogg. But yeah, Al Michaels + 50 Cent = Best. TV Moment. Ever.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted January 28, 2003 If he's going to maintain any sort of audience, he's going to have to learn how to interview. Those interviews last night were terrible; it's like he's never had a conversation before. So that's one thing he'll need to work on. The writing is decent, but he sounds stilted and nervous when introducing the bits. Conan used to do this, too: he'll stammer and repeat himself several times in introducing, say, the "Blizzard Monday" bit. You have to just get to it. Other than that, I like the format of the show and think Kimmel is funny enough to keep this thing up once they work out all the early bugs. Thumbs up. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 28, 2003 I don't think the show is on in my area. It's not listed on the guide. I'll have to check tonight and see if the guide listing is wrong.

Guest Star Ocean 3 Report post Posted January 28, 2003 I hope Jimmy can improve here...there were too many "silent" moments, and he resorted to the same jokes too often. The action figures weren't funny, and I don't care about his producer's picture on the newspaper. Tonight's show wasn't looking that good until 50 Cent came, then the show picked up. But I guess all those mistakes are expected of a new host, especially a new host who's live.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 28, 2003 The guide didn't list it at any time and i looked from 11 to 6am on it. It's either a mistake in the guide or it's not here.
