Baldur's Gate romance question

Quick question regarding romancing:

 

Does it matter what race you are when courting another character?

 

Example, will Jaheria/Vic./etc go for a half-orc/halfling/etc? I'm sure alignment will play a factor, but what about race?

From what I remember, Race only matters as to the basic effect it has on your Charisma (Is that it?) Stats.

Nope, race matters. Jaheira wouldn't start a romance with my poor blue dwarf.

 

Course, you just need to find a program like Shadowkeeper and you can fix that. Lesbian romances = amusing.

Kinda wish I finished BG or BG2. On BG I got all the way to sneaking back into the city, but kinda just stopped playing. Not sure how far I got on 2. Imogen (??) just got taken away. Always wanted to see what the endings were like, but I got pissed off making a ranger and having half my inventory taken up by freaking arrows. A weight only inventory would have been so much easier, although I imagine Black Isle wasn't looking for "easy" on their list of game requirements.
