Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted January 28, 2003 Yay!! Jordan, yay!! And I know the All-Star game is on TNT in America, but what channel is the All-Star game being shown in Canada?
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted January 29, 2003 Nice to see that all the centers in the Eastern Conference made the team. My questionings: How does Jordan make the team and NOT Stackhouse? If Jordan made it, so should Stackhouse. Anyone who thinks Stack is not having a better season than Jordan should be checked. No one outside of Louisiana gives a damn about Jamal Mashburn. No way he should have made it over Rose or Artest. Hell, I'd take Richard Jefferson over Mashburn. Not that I don't like him, just saying. The story I told about MJ/Stack relates to Ricky Davis and Zydrunas Ilgauskas as well. What's up with all the point guards in the West? Finley should have made it over Nash. So should Bonzi Wells. Amazingly, I find no reason to accuse someone of being on an illegal substance for leaving Elton Brand off the team. The five forwards in the game for the West are all having great seasons, four of them MVP-esque. Elton will have several more chances though. And finally, to everyone who voted for Vince Carter, FUCK YOU. Sorry, Jalen...23 points a game and Chicago's best record of the post-Jordan era isn't good enough. Sorry, Ron...being the league's best defensive small forward since Scottie Pippen was in his prime and still scoring 16 a game for the best team in the East isn't good enough. Sorry, Richard...being an early candidate for the NBA's Most Improved Player isn't good enough. Learn to dunk between your legs, then maybe you'll have a shot next year!... ...Of course, we'll need a spot for LeBron on the ballot, too...
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted January 29, 2003 They really need to get rid of the fan balloting. There's no way Vince Carter should be in the game, let alone starting. And Yao Ming should be in the game, but not starting over Shaq. But it's not like the coaches always make the right choices. Ron Artest and Rickey Davis got shafted, and you could make a case for Michael Finley over Stephon Marbury or Steve Nash. Finally, if Michael Jordan made it primarily on his future Hall-of-Fame status and because he's retiring at the end of the year, then shouldn't David Robinson have made it? Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted January 29, 2003 Well, Webber sprained his ankle tonight against the Jazz, so we could see Karl Malone or someone replace him. I suppose it depends on who's coaching the game. With the NBA, you're picking only 12 players for each side, so either way a lot of deserving players are going to be left out, more than in the MLB all-star game or the NFL Pro Bowl. The NBA All-Star game is usually the more entertaining since neither team bothers to play defense or set up shots, so there's a lot of run-and-gun action. Guest bravesfan Report post Posted January 29, 2003 EDIT: Jalen Rose got the shaft.
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted January 29, 2003 Elton Brand may get in the game after all then. Isiah Thomas and Rick Adelman (sp?) are coaches, btw.

Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted January 30, 2003 Cool ass banner, Unwritten Religion. Speaking of the Kings, if Adelman is coaching we could see Peja after all in the all-star game. Or maybe he'll go ahead and put Brand in.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted January 30, 2003 Jamison should be on the team.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted January 31, 2003 Jamison once again, GETS THE SHAFT! Peja has been chosen to replace C.Webb. Also, T-Mac has given up his Starting Spot to MJ.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted January 31, 2003 Jordan declined T-Mac's offer. But what I wanna know is why Vince Carter can't give up his spot.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted January 31, 2003 Since Webber was the lone King, I understand Peja making it. I bet Vince won't play, and Jordan would just say no to him too.
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted January 31, 2003 The Inquirer reported today that Iverson also offered his spot to Jordan. Jordan also confrmed he wouldn't accept Carter's spot.
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted January 31, 2003 The participants for the Skills Challenge have been announced: Payton, Kidd, Marbury and Tony Parker. Payton and Kidd I am glad are in, since those are the two that a game like this should be meant for.
Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Report post Posted January 31, 2003 Well, Good for MJ. He knows his time is almost up and wants the yong players to have fun just like he did back in the days. But I'm praying that MJ takes Vince spot(I Hate That Bitch). Also, Adding the 1988 All-Star jersys is cool and I'm Glad that NBA bringing back some old school jersys(Please bring back the old school Golden State "The City" Jersys!) By the way, Who do you guys think will be the All-Star MVP?
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted February 1, 2003 The MVP will be...Paul Pierce. I don't know why, that's just what my gut says.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 1, 2003 MVP will be The Big Ticket
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 1, 2003 Jordan declined T-Mac's offer. But what I wanna know is why Vince Carter can't give up his spot. Carter says that if he gave up his spot it'd be a slap in the face to the million fans that voted for him to start. I say it's because he's a stupid baby. But does it really matter who starts? Carter will probably play maybe 5 mintues and then go to the bench. This is the all star game. Everybody is gonna get their chance to play.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted February 1, 2003 If Ricky Davis would have been chosen to be an East reserve, it would've been great to see TWO (9-37) Cleveland Cavaliers on the team and two in the Rookie/Sophomore game (Booze and Juanny).
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted February 1, 2003 The MVP will be...Michael Jordan. Example: Think Magic Johnson in 1992. BTW, I'll bet that at the last minute, Vince Carter decides not to play.

If they wanted Jordan to start they would of voted for him. Exactly. I've heard about this SOOO much over the past little while, with media and other players/coaches ripping on Carter for not giving up his spot. Well why the fuck should he? He was voted in there by the fans, which means that fans want to see him there. The All-Star games are games for the fans. And, besides, I've never seen the huge deal in starting an All-Star game. I mean, if you're there, you're gonna play, pretty much. The only 'honour' in it is being chosen by the fans, so, if you're taking someone else's spot, it's nothing to be proud of, really. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 7, 2003 Yeah, but if VC refused to start and pissed off the fans, maybe the fans would be so pissed off at him that they wouldn't vote him there next year like idiots. haha
Guest The Fett Report post Posted February 8, 2003 I seriously think the only reason T-Mac offered his spot to Jordan was to make Carter look bad. There's still some bad blood between those 2 since Mcgrady left Toronto. Mcgrady knew there's no way Jordan would have taken him up on his offer. This way he comes away looking like this noble guy, while Carter comes off looking like an ass.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Iverson offered too. I don't know why he would go out of his way to make Vince Carter look bad. Vince Carter makes himself look bad on his own. He doesn't need any help.
Guest The Fett Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Iverson offered privately. He called Jordan up over the phone so it wouldn't be a huge deal. Mcgrady notified the media so he could get on camera and make himself look like a saint, while making Vince like this evil guy.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Vince Carter is not an evil guy, he's just a pussy.
