Guest treble charged Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Maybe Vince Carter hasn't lead the Raptors to anything big yet, but he IS the team's MVP and they do play better with him in the lineup then they do with him out of it.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 They didn't need his candy ass last year.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 This is a non-story. It's a meaningless All-Star game. Jordan will play in the game what does it matter if he starts or not.
Guest Redhawk Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 It's not meaningless. You listen to almost every guy there and they're talking about how it's Jordan's last game and how big of a deal it is. And of course everyone's going to play, but if starting was nothing special than they wouldn't have started allowing fans to vote for it. Another point to consider: Vince Carter got a LOT of votes from the same people who voted for Yao Ming. Remember, Vince toured Asia this summer and became very popular over there.

Than why didn't the fans vote for Jordan. It's their fault and no one else's that Carter is in the game.
Guest Redhawk Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 I didn't say it WASN'T the fans fault, just offering an explanation for why so little people agreed with Vince's selection yet so many voted for him.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 I know Redhawk. I just think Carter is being wrongfully criticized and the story in general isn't that big a deal. I really don't think Jordan is that upset about starting or not. He might be lieing, but I don't think he wants the All-Star game to turn into a #23 tribute game.
