Guest Coffin Surfer Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Shit, it's over for me. Today was my last chance to finish, before work, but I've only made it to my entrance around 7000 words. I can't stay up all night writing, because I've got work tommorow morning. So I'm bailing out, and no showing. Good luck to those who are still in this thing.
Guest Tod deKindes Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Another one bites the dust...
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 23,000 down, 9,000 to go... EDIT: And by that, I mean 15,000 down, 7,000 to go...
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Bitch, you hiiiiigh as hell.
Guest Goodear Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 And... and.... and... I'm spent. 15,623 words later and the first draft is done. I feel complete. I feel like singing... I feel like saving this thing on every disk I can find ... I feel like I'll have to edit the crap out of it tommorrow. But its done to the point I could send it in at any time. I can't feel my arms.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Ejiro, it's comforting to know that your first WF match is longer than anything I've ever written here. You have a bright future ahead of you.
Guest Crowe Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I hope Ejiro wins and owns you all. JL Pride, yo.
Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 With drop outs occuring left and right, that may very well happen. That'd be pretty cool, if you think about it.
Guest Lightning Flik Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 With drop outs occuring left and right, that may very well happen. That'd be pretty cool, if you think about it. *walks in from inactiveness* Would be interesting if Ejiro won it... Cause I wonder what match he would ask for. *heads back to inactiveness*

Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 It's 3:30am and I'm just almost at Mak's entrance at about 20,100... I'll wake up early tomorrow at 8, write the last 2-3k of this baby, edit it 9 times over, and send it in. UGH I need sleep. I've written the last 10k in the last day and a half... it's been painful. Anyhow, my match blows I'm sure, but I got through it (pretty much, after 2-3k more) and I'm happy. Sleep out.
Guest Ash Ketchum Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I'm at 18K, miuns my 5.5K "History of the CF" piece I have to edit down a bit. I've just gotten to Tod's entrance, and there are now only 5 left in the ring. I have to write another 5:30 into the match time-wise before I start the triple-threat. But I'd say when this is all done... I might be damn close to TNT's total. It will be finished soon, though. And that's good for me.
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 ...I slept in. ...This... this is so fucked up right now.
Guest Ace309 Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I do believe my eyes are going to fall out and roll around the floor, for tired is the man who writes a new personal best.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 It looks like time's up. Who made it? ::distracts self from piles of work::
Guest Ash Ketchum Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I just made it. A five-parter in PMs, 24.5K words, sent in right at the deadline.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I got in right under the wire and then some. Topped out at 20,128. I would have liked to have done another 5,000 or so more, but did not have that luxury. I did not do all I wanted to with the triple threat ending, but I think it reads at a good fast pace because of that and makes for a hot finish. If anything sinks me, that will be it. I should have budgted my time a little better toward the end and forced myself to work a little harder. As long as I can make it into the final round and make King say "damn, wish we could have more than one winner" I'll be happy.
Guest kelloggs Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Clusterfuck is the root of all evil... it started out so fun but now it needs to DIE... that is all... Oh and 17500something words...
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I never had a chance; at 2200 on Friday, I only had about 6K, and I hadn't even made it to my character yet. And, as mentioned before, I've had to work all weekend.
Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 I really hope you all shift the "make fun of someone for writing a ridiculous amount of words" heat from me to TNT, 'cause he deserves it. Heh. Edit: And Ash. Ash too.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Next year, I'm writing 60,000 words. 1000 words per minute. I'm hiring Nova as co-writer to create moves that don't even exist yet and Joey Styles will be doing running audio commentary you can download and listen to as you read.
Guest Ace309 Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 I'm hiring Nova as co-writer to create moves that don't even exist yet and Joey Styles will be doing running audio commentary you can download and listen to as you read. Nova: "Okay, I've got a good one. Have him grab the guy in a power bomb position, but lift him up VERTICALLY, head pointing down, instead of with his back to the mat. Then sit down, driving his head into the mat." Styles: "I'll call it a LEAPING TIGER BOMB!"
Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 ...that's not a good sign.
Guest TheBostonStrangler Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Five out of twenty. I had three of them. Ejiro, TNT, Ash, Frost, and Mak are good. The other 15, who I don't feel like listing, suck.
Guest Suicide King Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Opener and Main event graded. On to battle royal. thank goodness nobody bothered to write.
Guest Coffin Surfer Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Some of us work for a living, and go to school as well. I wish I could have wrote, and I did try to get it done, but I simply ran out of time with no hope of completing it. It happens, and it when it does, I always do the best I can to notify the marker in advance with an excuse, so they won't be waiting for a match that will never come. Though the damn board prevented me from doing that, today.
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 On to battle royal. thank goodness nobody bothered to write. <--- Did! I better get a ME push for being so enthusiastic damn j00z... heh.
