Guest Incandenza Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Here's what I got: I'm set for awhile.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Bitch, imma kill you and your free money.
Guest Incandenza Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I never wanna leave school. They'll stop sending me pell grants.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Is Petting Zoo good shit? I don't have that one. Also, what's the cd that's also Rats Milk's avatar?
Guest Incandenza Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Is Petting Zoo good shit? I don't have that one. Also, what's the cd that's also Rats Milk's avatar? Petting Zoo is a comp. It has a bunch of stuff on it my Residents mix doesn't have, plus the list price was only five bucks. And that one album from IDRM's avatar is Aphex Twin's Richard D. James Album.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I want some pell grants. I'm an attractive young man, dammit. I've earned them. That's the Richard D. James Album by Aphex Twin, AoO. It's pretty sweet, in a blissfully insane way.

Definitely pick up Duck Stab somewhere, though. It rules.
Guest Incandenza Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Residents albums are difficult to come by in this town, it would seem. I have to order them (I ordered God in Three Persons last week, and I eagerly anticipate its arrival).
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Aphex Twin is some good stuff, but like someone said, too insane and chaotic for me to really get into.
Guest Banky Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Tell me all about Lou Reed's album after you get a listen. As one who has studied Poe's work, i'd be interested to see how a concept album on his work would sound. If anyone can pull off the fucked up nature of Poe's work, its Lou Reed.

Sad, but true: the first time I read this I thought Banky was talking about the band poe.
Guest Eyeball Kid Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I've listened to The Raven once so far. It's...um.... Not good.
Guest Kinetic Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 It's Lou Reed, man of 1,000 unlistenable solo albums. I don't know what you expected. Strangely enough, I had a dream last night about buying a Lou Reed album (mid 70s, if my memory serves me correctly) and thinking it was really great. I awoke in a hot sweat and was relieved to discover that it was just a dream.
Guest Eyeball Kid Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Because I've liked many a Reed solo album, is why. Berlin, Coney Island Baby, The Blue Mask and New York are all terrific. It isn't even the pretentiousness of The Raven that's the worst thing. Reed was never a "good" singer, but his voice on this album is showing the wear and tear of old age. He sounds downright awful at times.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Sorry to be a stick in the mud, but you're using Pell Grants to buy CD's?! Shouldn't that $$ be used for, you know, education?...
Guest Eyeball Kid Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 That's what the student loan went towards.
