Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted January 31, 2003 Does anyone have match listings for these shows, which generally appeared a week or 2 before Wrestlemania's? I seem to remember Hogan vs Adnan prior to WM 7 and BBBigelow vs taker prior to WM 9 Other than that I'm clueless...
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2003 Here's what I remember. I think I have exact dates and locations on my website. 91 was taped in Orlando in February. It was for a big TV taping (Superstars) but I think most of these were only shown on the TV special. Texas Tornado pinned Ted Dibiase after Virgil tripped Dibiase as he had Von Erich up for a suplex into the ring (later included on WrestleFest 91, I believe) Jake the Snake defeated Kato Hulk Hogan defeated Gen. Adnan WWF Tag Team Champ Bret Hart defeated one of the Nasty Boys WWF IC Champion Mr. Perfect defeated Shawn Michaels via DQ when the Big Bossman interfered (later included on World Tour 91) 1992 had: Shawn Michaels vs. WWF IC Champion Roddy Piper A few classic Hogan matches, since they were hyping his retirement 1993 had: The Undertaker defeated Bam Bam Bigelow via count-out when Bam Bam walked out of the match Kamala pinned Kimchee (blow off) Yokozuna pinned Randy Savage with a belly to belly suplex (big shocker for me ... Yoko ate him up and spat him out) Mr. Perfect pinned Skinner with the Perfect Plex 1994 had: Lex Luger pinned Tom Pritchard with the forearm Crush pinned Bret Hart when Owen ran into the ring and reversed a small package, putting Crush on top WWF World Champ Yokozuna pinned Tatanka with the Bonzai Drop in a non-title match 1995 (renamed Sunday Night Slam) had: Mr. Bob Backlund defeated WWF IC Champ Jeff Jarrett via disqualification when Razor Ramon and the 1-2-3 Kid interfered; after the match, Bret Hart came in as well Bam Bam Bigelow pinned Sionne the Headshrinker Diesel and HBK / Sid had a big interview / confrontation where Shawn cut one of his best promos to date, pretty much convincing me Nash had no chance of holding onto the belt Lex Luger defeated Tatanka in a steel cage match (their blow off match)
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted January 31, 2003 Does anyone remember the 1998 version? I don't think they were matches of any sort, just a lot of promos (by DX, Austin, etc.) The main attraction of the event, being the only thing I can remember from it, was this GIANT escalator that brought the wrestlers down to the main stage. Hell, I don't even think this was 1998, but I remember HBK and Hunter featured in the show prominently, so it HAD to be the '98 version.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted February 1, 2003 I'm thinking it was from 1999. It was that Saturday Night Party show or something. Also wantred to add that it was cool for Savage to put over Yokozuna like that and at RR1993. Savage remains one of my all time favorites.

Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted March 3, 2003 Woops. I meant 1994, not 95. (I didnt even know there was a 1995 one)
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted March 3, 2003 1998 featured DX humiliating Austin IIRC.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted March 3, 2003 I remember the WWF WrestleMania Rage Party in 1999,that was kind of dumb but my favorite one was the one prior to WWF WrestleMania VIII and that Rowdy Piper Vs. Shawn Michaels match was actually pretty good. Thanks.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted March 5, 2003 1998-WrestleMania Public Workout-Outside, DX ties Austin up and Tyson and HBK kiss him, Shawn is hit by a battery and walks. Check out videos like Austin 3:16, D-Generation X, and It's Our Time for footage. 1999-WrestleMania Rage Party-Inside, interviews only, giant escalator, no ring, mostly bad interviews and music. Might be on the WMXV DVD.
Guest Grenouille Report post Posted March 5, 2003 1992 also had Ric Flair vs. Jim Brunzell.
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Grenouille Posted on Mar 5 2003, 02:03 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1992 also had Ric Flair vs. Jim Brunzell. BWAHAHAHA! That sounds like the biggest squash of all time. In this corner: an 8-time world champion considered to be one of the best (if not THE best) wrestler of all time. And his opponent: a journeyman most famous for being ONE HALF of a late-80s jobber tag team. Smell the ratings!

It was meant to make Flair look good before his title defense at Mania.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Brunzell was a "main eventer" for the AWA during the Early 80's in fueds with Patera/Blackwell and Adonis/Ventura
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Report post Posted March 9, 2003 No, I know it wasn't supposed to be a serious threat to Flair's title...but I can just imagine the announcers trying to put Brunzell over as a contender. Either that, or they just talked over the match and didn't even try to justify it.

That's the show I was looking for...thanks Matt. I remember the show being focused around some facet of DX; I mistook that for HBK/HHH, yet it was the Hunter/Waltman/NAO group.
