My dad always tells me before I go out, Don't drink. If you do, just stay there or stay over at a friend's place. Usually I just have a sip, wait a while - like five or six hours, and then drive home.

 

I think I'm going to start taking my father much more seriously after seeing that.

In your original post, and 'Next time just take a taxi' is comical in my book, whether you see it that way or not.

 

It is possible to change a person's thinking pattern without using disturbing imagery such as that as well, and i doubt the sincerity in the fact that you actually CARE whether people drink or drive. Seems to me as though you were just looking for something to gross others out. However that is just my opinion.

Like i said it was just my opinion and nothing else. I don't know you and i'm in no position to judge your compassion, but i'm entitled to express what i feel, which you have not spoken out against at all, so we're cool in my eyes.

You know, now that I think about it, I wonder if there's really nothing to be done for that girl. Some of you guys have probably seen the dude with his face bitten off by a bear. I met a guy once who had a grenade go off in his hand in Vietnam, burned most of his face down to the skull pretty much. Both of them were able to look basically normal with enough surgery. That page made it seem like that girl will look that way forever.

I do agree with Addy, User. Some people don't get the message til they actually see something like that. I know a girl who drove drunk all the time. She flipped and completely totalled her 1999 Mustang GT. She flipped 7 times and landed in a ditch with the impact throwing her engine into her passengers seat, nearly killing her. This did not stop her however. It wasn't until a friend of ours was in a drunk driving accident, nearly killed, but now has the mentality of a 4th grader and will never be the same. My friend's mom made her go to the hospital to see for herself the other girl in the hospital. I will not go into detail about it, but it was not a pretty site to see. Since that this girl has never drove home after drinking and she never will. Nowhere did Addy have anything comical in his post, he was clearly trying to show people something. Yes it was a sick thing to see, however that is life, and people learn from things that are that disturbing. That's why I said the only thing worse than that site is seeing it first hand.

Well, I'm really trying not to have my curiousity get the better of me. I for one will NEVER drink and drive anyways, no matter what. One of my friends brothers got killed in a horrible drunk driving accident just around Christmas.
