Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 14, 2002 I caught this show last night, what's your take on it? I thought it was a great show and it may supplant itself as my #3 show after "24" and "CSI". The lead character is alot like Steve Austin. Bald, cocky, arrogant, funny and kicks ass. I like the corrupt cop angle. Any thoughts?
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 16, 2002 Is Vince Mackey anything like Denzel Washington in Training Day? I caught the first episode and it was a good show. Mackey is a great character, I can't wait until he gets gunned down by some drug dealer but until that happens it should be worth watching.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted March 17, 2002 Being a hopeless NYPD Blue junkie, I'm glad to know my Tuesday nights are going to be filled with cop shows, after Bill O'Reilly of course. The only think I didn't like about The Shield was that they tried to cover an awful lot of ground in the first hour, but then again this was a much-hyped show that FX is counting on heavily to deliver. And according to its 4.1 rating, TS did just that. Deliver. Now we have to see how well it retains its audience -- remember the XFL started out big and look where that ended up. On a side note, I'm digging that black lady who's playing a detective. Going from Sipowicz to her is like a total 180 in style. Guest Vyce Report post Posted March 18, 2002 I thought it was a pretty strong pilot episode. Definitely good enough for me to watch the next couple episodes. Hey, any basic cable show that uses that much gratuitous language is thumbs up in my book. The female detective is played by CCH Pounder. She's been in tons of stuff. She's pretty #### good, and I'm glad to see her here in this.
