Guest JMA Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I know these kinds of posts can get very heated. Please be respectful of other people's beliefs.
Guest RobJohnstone Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Christian all the way. It's GOD's way or the Highway --Rob
Guest bob_barron Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I'm both Jewish and Christian. I've been Bar Mitzvahed and my mom is Jewish but I carry around the new testament and celebrate Christmas and Hannukah
Guest Ozymandias Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Too late to make amends, white devil. *contemplates jihad*
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Atheist and Agnostic should not be included on the list. They either don't believe, or they question the existent of a higher being. That doesn't sound like a religion to me. As for me I'm a Catholic.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Confirmed Lutheran. Whatever...
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Nothingist. No beliefs at all.
Guest spiny norman Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I'm Agnostic. Kotzenjunge, do you mean that you're agnostic? Because there really isn't a nothingist, and agnostic is pretty much no beliefs whatsoever?
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Agnostic believes it has no beliefs. I loooooooves me some hair-splitting.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Crap. Just remembered I'll have to turn Catholic to marry the better half. Wonder if there are any cute alter boys at her church?...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Atheist, borderline Satanist, (which isn't the worship of the christian devil, before anyone gets uppity.)
Guest Freakish_Twist_Of_Fate Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I am a 'learning-to-practice' W!ccan. And no, I don't worship the Dev!l, before someone asks. I don't really believe in him... Or Hell, for that matter. Edit: (Sighs at the censors attached to his server) Rgh.
Guest big Dante Cruz Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Very Christian and very proud of it. But like SP, I'd rather not shove it down your throat. If you're not already turned off, that will do the trick.
Guest hardyz1 Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I have no beliefs. But I believe I'm a walking contradiction.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I really don't have a belief set. I live a clean life and I'm good to people...I don't know if I believe in all that Godish stuff, I'd like to think all that stuff is real. I guess I'm 51/49 on believing
Guest JMA Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Atheist and Agnostic should not be included on the list. They either don't believe, or they question the existent of a higher being. That doesn't sound like a religion to me. Read the second line of the title. They stay.
Guest Tyler McClelland Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Religion does not mean belief in GOD, it means belief. Christian, non evangelist.
Guest DrTom Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Agnostic believes it has no beliefs. I loooooooves me some hair-splitting. An agnostic is someone who is unsure of the existence of God, but doesn't have a concrete belief one way or the other. The belief in nothing that you're talking about is nihilism, and it's honestly one of the more idiotic philiosophies I've ever seen. One of their beliefs is that nothing can be known or communicated, which makes conversations like this incredibly pointless.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 No, not nihilism. I know what that is. If I were a nihilist, I would have said so. The idea that there is no way anything can be convinced in any way is a belief, and, like I said, I have none of these beliefs, let alone a system. I just made up a name for it so I wouldn't have to explain it to people.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Somewhere between agnosticism, atheism and humanism. I guess I can't really vote then. Maybe a touch of voodoo for good luck.
Guest RobJohnstone Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Agnostic believes it has no beliefs. I loooooooves me some hair-splitting. Tom, that reminds me of The Big Lebowski, a personal favorite movie of mine. --Rob
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Read the second line of the title. They stay. Tell me were I criticized Atheist? All I said was I don't consider not believing in anything to be a religion.
Guest Kingpk Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I guess if I have to choose, agnostic. Maybe I'll be like Carlin and worship the sun and pray to Joe Pesci.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I voted agnostic, though I do remember being fascinated with Taoism when I was studying it awhile back.
Guest HecateRose Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I'm Wiccan through and through
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Hell, I'm atheist and I wouldn't call it a religion, because, well, it's quite the opposite. It still belongs on the ballot though, or else I'll sue.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Somewhere between agnosticism, atheism and humanism. I guess I can't really vote then. Maybe a touch of voodoo for good luck. You know, in this day and age, you'd think more people would be into bizarre religions like Voodoo and such. I'd figure people would get tired of mourning their faith, and conforming to sterile dogma. If I'd ever leave the gray area of atheism, it would definitely be for the colorful and interesting world of the Druid, or something similar at least.
