Guest Longdogger_Pete Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 This is unrelated to our league, but the country received a terrible shock this morning, and though it is certainly a big deal throughout the country, here in Florida where I live it plays a very big part in our way of life and is absolutely devastating to a lot of people. That said, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the seven astronauts we lost today, and I hope everyone else's are as well.
Guest Ace309 Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Well said, Pete. I'm sure all of us feel the same way.
Guest Thoth Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I'm still in shock. The scary thing is, I just read a problem in my Probability book. "What are the odds of another shuttle disaster happening?" The odds were 1 in 75. This was very close to the 75th launch of the Space Shuttle since Challenger.
Guest Muzz Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Could someone direct me to a news story?
Guest Ace309 Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Just check CNN.com. It's their entire front page.
Guest Crowe Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I heard about it while watching the cricket. It's quite sad to see those youngins before the mission.
