Backlash 1999

Well, everyone else does it, so I might as well plug my Backlash 1999 review here.

And, before you tell me, I know I made a mistake in the Hardcore match. Billy Gunn was the champ at Wrestlemania and Holly won it there. I still can't find my XV tape, so I may just skip to Wrestlemania 2000 next.

Good review Kingpk. I also did a review of it at 411. ::cheap plug:

I agreed with most of your star ratings except I thought you underrated Rock v. Austin

I liked it...my only complaint is that you didn't talk enough about Chyna. Shame on you.

Good review....but you mean 4 years....not 5.

Right?

Yeah, yeah, I meant 4.

Bob - I just thought it had too much brawling near the entrance and into the crowd (which I HATE). They did a much better brawl at X-7 (which I did at Smark Talk, but I'm going to redo for TSM, since that version isn't that good, and just want an excuse to watch it again).

Update: I can't find Wrestlemania XV, so I'm going to do No Mercy 2001 next, then Wrestlemanias 2000 - X-8.

I understand- that was pretty much how they did them back in the day so I didn't really mind it.

I look forward to No Mercy 2001- Just bought that show on dvd

Okay, good....I was going to say if it was 5 years, then life is going way to fast.

That show had some fun stuff on it, DEFINITELY better than WM XV, which was a suckfest. Still, it didn't have anything that stands out as blow-away stuff to me. Rock/Austin was fun as usual, I'd call it ***1/4-***1/2ish. Their X-7 match blows away both this one and their XV match, though. Man, 99 was such a forgettable year...NOTHING really stands out at all for me. X-Pac/Jericho from Unforgiven was pretty decent, as were the Rock/Foley encounters. Hardyz/E&C was innovative and good shit later in the year, but other than that...blech.

I was there live as well.

I was the kid with the "X PUNK" written over his DX Jersey a la Shane O' Mac.

Good show, loved the Rock/Austin match. Of course that event started the "soap opera endings" for us ("Where to, Stephanie...)

me and my friends had a hell of a worked match in the stands with quite a crowd

(and yes i do realize thats stupid but I let my hair down when i attend a wrestling event in person)
