THE MATCH- Once you get eliminated your partner must go. Legion of Doom (w/Sunny) are the mystery team to start. We got- LOD, Faarooq and Kama, D-Lo and Mark Henry, Godwinns, Rock-n-Roll Express, Quebecers, New Midnight Express, Savio and Miguel, Jesus and Jose Estrada, Bradshaw and Chainz, Blackman and Funk, Too Much (a.k.a. Too Cool), Sniper and Recon, Skull and 8-Ball and Headbangers. Huge brawl to start. Savio Vega gone (:42) Kurrgan runs in and gets Sniper (1:32) Barry Windham runs in and gets Chainz cause he had an issue with Bradshaw (2:09) D-Lo and Jacques gone. (2:28) Kama gone (3:07) Ricky Morton gone. (3:14) Mosh gone (3:56) Scott Taylor gone (4:28) Jesus and Blackman got eliminated somewhere. DOA gone. (6:06) Godwinns gone. (6:21) Godwinns attack LOD. Hawk almost out but LOD clean house and eliminate Midnights at 8:17. LOD are now #1 contenders. Huge L-O-D chant. **

TAKA Michinoku v. Aguila for the WWF Light Heavyweight Title

 

THE STORYLINE-None.

 

THE MATCH-They slap hands to start. TAKA takes Aguila down but gets armdragged. Flying headscissors by Aguila. Baseball slide by Aguila and he hits an Asai moonsault. They fight over a suplex- Aguila wins. Aguila gets dropkicked out and TAKA hits crossbody on outside. Back in- TAKA works him over. Dropkick by TAKA-2. TAKA gets backdropped out. Armdrag by Aguilia and he gets a springboard armdrag. Aguila throws him out and gets a corkscrew plancha. TAKA misses moonsault, Aguila hits one-2. Top rope splash by TAKA hits knees. Top rope hurricarana by Aguila. TAKA gets top-rope dropkick. Michinoku Driver blocked, TAKA gets powerbomb. TAKA misses from top, Aguila roles him up-2. Aguilia eats dropkick from top. TAKA gets Michinoku Driver for win. ***- Pretty much non-stop action for six minutes. Post-match they shake hands

Triple H (w/Chyna) v. Owen Hart for the WWF European Title

 

THE STORYLINE- Owen went after DX for Montreal. On RAW HHH attacked his ankle and these two have been feuding over the Euro title. Chyna will be handcuffed to Commissioner Slaughter.

 

THE MATCH- DX Band plays HHH down to ringside. After a while Sarge finally gets cuffed to Chyna. Owen attacks to start and kicks his ass. Hurricarana-2. HHH elbows him and stomps away. Brawl on the outside- HHH eats guardrail. Back in- HHH blocks Sharpshooter. Kneebuster by HHH- but he gets clotheslined. HHH stomps away and tells him to SUCK IT! High knee-2. HHH works him over and tells him to SUCK IT! Owen fights back, blind charge misses. DDT by HHH-2. HHH works on the ankle- Owen is bleeding from the nose. More ankle working by HHH. PSYCOLOGY! Owen fights back and crotches HHH on the rail. Missile dropkick-2. Belly to belly-2. Enziguri-2. Another enziguri but it hurts Owen’s ankle. He finally covers-2. Hurricarana blocked by powerbomb gets two for HHH. Owen gers flying crossbody-2.  Owen blocks Pedigree, HHH blocks Sharpshooter, Owen falls into his groin-2. Owen blocks Pedigree with backdrop. Owen blocks sunset flip with Sharpshooter. Chyna helps HHH makes ropes. Chyna throws powder in Sarge’s eyes and lowblows Owen. Pedigree by HHH wins it. Horrible ending to a great match. ***3/4 Post-match Chyna beats on Sarge

TAFKA Goldust and Luna v. Marc Mero and Sable

 

THE STORYLINE- Mero was jealous of the attention Sable was getting so he turned to TAFKA Goldust. This pissed off Luna and she went after Sable thus throwing the alliance in dissaray.

 

THE MATCH-Vinny Pazienza and Marvin Hagler are here. No gender-mixing here. Mero and Goldust start. Goldust takes advantage but Mero gets headscissors. Goldust tags Luna so Sable must come in. Luna bails and runs from Sable and tags Goldust. Goldust attacks Mero and gets backdrop. Tag Sable who kicks Goldust. Luna won’t tag in so back to Mero-Goldust. Goldust punches away, blind charge misses. Goldust kicks his ass but Mero gets crossbody-2. Goldust punches him but they collide. Double KO. Finally the females tag in. Sable kills Luna as crowd goes crazy. She punches Goldust and chucks Luna out. Luna tags Goldust who gets punched. Mero and Goldust brawl. Splash by Mero hits knees. Lowblow by Mero, Goldust blocks TKO with DDT-2. Mero blocks Curtain call with springboard moonsault-2. Goldust gets crotched on top. Top rope hurricarana by Mero-2. Mero goes after Luna, Goldust tries to saves but collides with Luna. TKO by Mero- Luna saves. Sable tags in and covers Goldust- ref is distracted. Luna comes off to save but Sable moves and Luna hits Goldust. Powerbomb by Sable-2. Luna works her over but misses legdropped and gets TKOed by Sable for the win. Fun match, this match blew everyone away cause they were expecting a suckfest. ***1/4

The Rock (w/D-Lo, Kama and Mark Henry) v. Ken Shamrock for the WWF I-C Title

 

THE STORYLINE- At the RR Rock cheated to retain the title and has generally been a pain in the ass to Shamrock. If Rock gets DQed he loses title.

 

THE MATCH- Shamrock kills him and clotheslines him out. Rock takes a walk- Shamrock goes after him and he kills him. Slugfest- Rock rakes eyes. Shamrock kills him more. Rock throws him out. ‘Rocky Sucks’. Shamrock eats steps. Bodyslam, People’s Elbow-2. Rock gets chucked out. Brawl on the outside- Shamrock gets chair. He shoves ref, Rock chairs him-2. Shamrock kicks his ass. Poerslam-2. Belly to belly, anklelock-. Rock taps. Shamrock belly to bellys D-Lo, Kama and Mark Henry. Rock tries to run but he gets anklelocked. Faarooq runs down but won’t help. Rock is bleeding from the mouth. Shamrock takes out three refs and a suit. Ref reverses decision, Shamrock is DQed. Shamrock goes crazy, beats up Rock some more. **1/4

JR and King talk about box office for WM, I-C title match and dumpster match

 

New Age Outlaws v. Cactus Jack and “Chainsaw Charlie” Terry Funk for the WWF Tag Team Titles in a dumpster match.

 

THE STORYLINE- The NAO attacked Cactus and Funk and threw them off the stage in a dumpster.

 

THE MATCH- NAO do their spiel. Funk-Gunn, Dogg-Cactus go. Dogg gets rammed into the dumpster but whacks Jack with cooking sheet. Gunn chokes out Funk. Jack does a somersault into the dumpster. Ouch. Funk gets thrown into railing and backdropped into rail. Jack gets whipped into dumpster, and Road Dogg does a Russian leg sweep into it. They ram the lids onto their heads. Gunn chops Funk and both old guys are in the dumpster. Jack gets Mandible Claw on NAO. Gunn is bleeding. Gunn hits Jack with cooking sheet. Funk whacks Gunn with sheet. Gunn gets whacked again. Jack and Funk beat on Dogg. Jack runs into Gunn with cookie sheet on Gunn. DDT on cookie sheet by Funk. Cactus gets a ladder. Billy Gunn goes after him and they both climb pu. Road Dogg whacks Funk with cookie sheet who falls backwards into ladder causing Cactus and Gunn to fall into the dumpster from the ladder. OH MY GOD. HOLY SHIT! NAO beat on Jack and they go to the back. They fight in the locker room and NAO kick his ass. Cactus chairs them both and Terry Funk shows up driving a forklift and uses the forklift to lift them up and dump them into the backstage dumpster to win the belts. Crazy, crazy match. ****

 

WHERE ARE THEY NOW-Dogg is in WWA, Gunn is gay now in WWF, Jack is retired, I hope Funk is retired.

Undertaker v. Kane (w/Paul Bearer)

 

THE STORYLINE- In 1997 Bearer claimed Taker was a murderer who killed his parents in a fire. He revealed that his brother was still alive and would be coming back for vengeance. In October, Kane showed up and tombstoned Taker. Taker refused to fight him so Kane went on a rampage. In January DX was beating on Taker when Kane made the save and an alliance was formed. At the Royal Rumble Kane turned on Taker, locked him in a casket and lit him off fire. This pushed Taker over the edge and we finally have this match.

 

THE MATCH- Pete Rose does the intros, dissing Bahston. Kane comes out and tombstones him. Taker’s entrance is OH. MY. GOD. It is the best entrance ever. Staredown- Taker punches him. In the corner- Taker keeps punching him. Blind charge misses, Kane throws him into corner, Taker ducks punches and punches Kane more. Blind charge by Kane misses, Taker punches away. Kane slaps him, hangs him in Tree of Woe and stomps away. Kane hammers away. He drops Taker on ring ropes and elbows him from top. Taker tries to cover up- Kane keeps coming. Taker jumps on Kane’s shoulder and gets dropped. Brawl on the outside- Kane drops ring steps on Taker twice. Paul Bearer lays in the shots. Kane suplexes Taker back in. Kane punches- UT covers up. Taker fights back but gets chokeslammed for two. Chinlock by Kane. Taker fights back with punches. Kane elbows him and goes back to chinlock. Taker counters with knee drop and punches aay. Kane is on the outisde, Taker flies out after him but Kane moves and Taker goes crashing to Spanish Announce Table. HOLY SHIT! Clothesline off top by Kane-2. Kane punches away- Taker covers up. Slugfest- Kane blocks Tombstone and hits his own. It gets only 2. More punches by Kane- Taker comes back with punches. Clothesline, chokeslam by Taker. Tombstone of his own- gets only two. Legdrop and a second tombstone again- only two. Flying clothesline by Taker. Tombstone #3 finally gets him but only barely. Epic match, a little too much resting. *** Post-match Kane and Paul Bearer lay him out.

 

WHERE ARE THEY NOW- Taker is Hardcore Champ, Kane is still in WWF.

Shawn Michaels (w/HHH and Chyna) v. Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Title

 

THE STORYLINE- Austin won the RR. Tyson was named special enforcer and got in a shoving match with Austin and joined DX. HBK’s back was really fucked up.

 

THE MATCH- Austin gets a mega-pop. Tyson and Austin talk trash. Austin flips HBK off- HBK punches him twice. HBK bails and Austin chases him.  Austin levels him and kicks his ass. HBK wrestles with his ass showing and gets backdropped from the inside to the outside onto HHH. HHH attacks Austin and Mike Chioda (Hebner was in the hospital) orders HHH and Chyna to the back. Brawl on the outside- Austin beats up HHH. HBK hits Austin with drum set. Austin fights back but gets whipped into dumpster. ‘Austin’ chant. HBK eats fist from the top and Austin kills his back on a hard Irish ship. Inverted atomic drop by Austin-2. Austin works on the arm. Stungun-2. HBK blocks Stunner to a gasp and gets punched into the announce table. Brawl on the outside- FU Elbow-2. Chinlock by Austin- HBK breaks with jawjacker. HBK tries to crotch Austin on post but he gets rammed into it. HBK backdrops Austin into crowd and rams him with the belt. ‘Austin’. Back in- HBK hammers away and works him over. ‘Holyfield’ chant. HBK flips off the crowd so Austin attacks and kicks his ass. He flips him off and chucks him out. HBK rams Austin into the post-twice. HBK works on the knee. Austin blocks figure 4 and rolls him up-2. HBK works on the knee. Austin bails- HBK baseball slides him into table. Tyson rolls him back in. Chopblock by HBK and he applies the figure 4. (using the ropes) Austin reverses- HBK makes ropes. Austin comes back and kicks his ass. Rollup-2. HBK gets the sleeper and the ref gets bumped. Austin chucks HBK into turnbuckle. Austin stomps a mudhole and walks it dry. Backdrop by Austin, HBK comes back with forearm. HBK kips up and hits flying elbow. HBK tuned up the band for Sweet Chin Music. Austin ducks, HBK blocks stunner, Austin blocks Sweet Chin Music, and spins him around. KICK WHAM STUNNER. Tyson runs in to count three. Crowd goes bananas. JR has 12 heaert attacks. Post-match HBK gets pissed off at Tyson so Tyson lays him out w/ one punch.***3/4- Both guys tried really hard and this match is a testament to their abilities.

 

WHERE ARE THEY NOW- Retired, top contender.

 

I won’t recap the press conference cause its stupid.

 

The Bottom Line- What en epic Wrestlemania. The faces mainly went over, all the matches were good and Steve Austin’s eight year journey is complete. A very historic show and one that will be remembered.

Marc Mero is in XWF too with Sable. Also... HHH is now in wwf. im sure this was typed awhile back, just letting you know of the error. awesome review as always. truly enjoyable
