Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted February 4, 2003 Got this from Smarkschoice... Tell us a little bit about your hometown... Well....I live in North Bergen, NJ. It is a town, with 42,000 people. It is very near New York City. From my apartment building window, you can see The Empire State Building. It is a quiet town. There used to be a lot of gang activity near the edge of North Bergen, leading into Jersey City, the next city after my town. As years passed, the gangs have disappeared, and the town is quiet. There are 2 parts to NB, Downtown and Uptown. Uptown is where the richer people live. Nothing but VERY expensive houses and apartments. Downtown, where I live, is not the complete opposite. We are the part of town that used to have the gangs. A lot of not expensive housing and apartment buildings are here. I live in a calm part of downtown. But for me, this town is VERY boring. If you do not have a car, you will have a very boring time here. Plus, our high school...IMO, SUCKS. Our school is so secure, so strict, so EVERYTHING, that our school is nicknamed North Bergen Jail. Our school has been having a high drop out rate, because no one likes it. I was in the main office once for like an hour, and I saw at least 20-30 drop outs/transfers. The administrators asked the students why they are leaving.....70% of them said that this school isn't good, or they have better schools to go to. The only other interesting thing is this........North Bergen is the second most hilliest city in the United States. First place is San Fran. PROS: Quiet town, only noisy in the morning rush. CONS: The town is BORING. North Bergen High School sucks.... www.northbergen.org ^^^My town's website

Guest kingkamala Report post Posted February 4, 2003 I think this has been done before but what the hell.... I live in Portland, Me population 65,000. I live in a quiet middle class neighborhood. The town could qualify as either a really big town or a really small city. The food is good with Maine being a hotbed for sea food. We are home of the Double A affiliate for the Boston Red Sox, the Portland Sea Dogs and the Washington Capitals AHL team, the Portland Pirates. Located downtown is the 8000 seat Cumberland County Civic Center and the 1500 seat State Theater. Also nearby is the 5000 seat Portland Exposition building. Huge population of Somalian refugees. Not too much crime, at least in my neighborhood. Pros: Damn good sea food, almost always something to do. Five nearby indy feds which is a lot considering the size of the city. Cons: Too many Mass hole tourists, almost everyone leaves after high school( Actually I probably will leave too)
Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted February 4, 2003 Nope, I don't live near Lincoln Park, NJ. The only places near me are Fairview, Union City, Jersey City, Cliffside Park, Ridgefield, Hoboken, and Hackensack.

Guest treble charged Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Hometown's webpage. Brockville, Ontario. A nice city of about 20,000, on the St. Lawrence River, right across from upstate New York. It's pretty damn boring there, though, as everything exciting either goes to Kingston or Ottawa (which are each about an hour away). Good thing is, since Ottawa's so close, when the WWE comes to town or if I want to go to a Sens game (to watch them get their asses handed to them by the Leafs, of course), the Corel Centre is very accesible. Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted February 5, 2003 I live in Flower Mound, Texas, which in the 2000 census, had a population of 50,702. The city has been growing rapidly, as in 1990, the town only had 15,527. There isn't much to this town, it is located between Dallas and Fort Worth. Basically, it's on big suburban hell-hole. High school blows, but we're the "smart" school, which means my decent grand point average puts me at the bottom of my class...meh, I have more to say, but I'll say it later. Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted February 5, 2003 i have a friend that WAS going to college there...he always talks about this place where you can only get in if you know the password...and it looks like an old comic strip come to life or something.... I can't remember what he called it...I'll have to call him...
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Franklin, MA Town's alright. I don't like leaving it often, although that's more because it's the town I've spent my entire life in so far (outside of vacations). I know half the town, and can walk all around town without getting lost (in the summer, when my parents go away for a weekend, I do a lot of walking). PROS: If you meet the right people, you'll always have fun. Plus, we have a local movie theater that charges $3 for matinée's and $6 for normal shows. And we have a FRIENDLY'S~!~ CONS: Almost everybody either smokes cigarettes, drinks alcohol, or does illegal drugs. The local bands suck huge balls (except Spinecast, who needs to change their name, and Fool Table and Stream), and we never get anymore good shows here. Last good show was a Toxic Narcotic show with John Wayne's Severed Head at the Community Center, but the cops won't allow shows there anymore for some stupid-ass reason. Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted February 5, 2003 and by the way... Frostburg, MD College town...so lots of alcohol flows...but it's a conservative town so lots of cops are always "on the beat" and you can easily get pulled over for the slighest shit... and there is a lot of old people. We have two "Snob Knob"s ...hills where the richies live...and even THEY call it that...so you know we don't bullshit around... I can drive between WV and PA in 10 minutes flat...probably faster....and i'm in the Appalachians...if you didn't guess by the last part... I've lived here all my life...outside of vacations and working for Disney World... it's a nice little place...though my mother is a bitch sometimes... Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Calgary AB Great place, mountains and prairies. Cattle and horse. Home of the "greatest outdoor show on Earth" The Calgary Stampede. Guest Kingpk Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Fall River, Mass Not much to say about this place. It's "claim to fame" is the Lizzy Borden ax murders. That's pretty much it. Well that, and it's the birthplace of Emeril Lagasse. The city's also affectionately called "Little Portugal" because of the overwhelming Portuguese population. PROS: Well, we have a Walmart now. CONS: Boring, boring, boring. The schools suck (my Jr. High (Henry Lord) is one of the worst schools in the state.) There is nothing really to do there (no clubs, hangouts, etc.)
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Sheffield, England. Great place, lots of really nice areas in and around the town centre, all the shops you could possibly ever want and pretty much everything else. I'm a city boy at heart, but if I feel like countryside you can get on a bus and be completely out of the city in ten minutes. It's a big university town, so during term time the whole place gets a lot more crowded, and outside of term time, all the pubs are pretty empty. That's a weird dynamic to live under. Overall I love it, it has everything I need and a whole lot more, and anything it doesn't have can be found in Manchester or one of the other surrounding towns. Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Moses Lake, WA. I was born there, but I moved in 1996; still, it *is* my hometown. I don't remember much about it; however, it was a hick town, to be sure.. I guess we had a lot of farming... Damn selective memory! As of 2001, the population was about 16,000. Not a lot of people, obviously. Oh, yeah! We had a school shooting back in '96. Frontier Jnr. High. Yup. It's listed on the back of this shirt at T-Shirt Hell. Right on the very bottom. Wh00. Anyway, here's my current hometown. It's crizappy.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Hana, Maui, Hawaii. The website will probably fill you in on stuff I miss. A population of about 2,000 people. It was decided a few years ago, that we going to shit on our tourist community and leave the area as "undeveloped" as possible (no malls, supermarkets, etc.). Even a large community-based marketplace was shot down. That leaves the community to travel almost 50 miles to the nearest metropolis, where that area is rapidly developing. The most you'll find here, business-wise? Two *grocery* stores, a post office, a restaurant and a few hotel shops. THAT'S IT.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted February 5, 2003 I currently live in Toronto but I still consider Pleasantville, New York to be my hometown. It's a pretty small quiet town. School was fun since it there were only like 400-500 kids in the whole school. We have 3 pizza places and tons of nail salons and it's a really kickass town. Guest Texas Small Arms 09 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Spring, TX About 45 minutes from Downtown Houston. Pretty much a small little suburb. Where I live, it's the upper middle class part, preppy as hell. To give an indication, the high school I graduated from was #2 on David Letterman's Top Ten Snobbiest Schools in the US, runner up to only Beverly Hills High School back in 1999. I don't like the preppiness much but you get used to it. It's close enough to Houston so you can go into the city if you want to go clubbin' or something. Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted February 5, 2003 St. Louis, MO. Meh, I don't leave the house much, but the house is fairly decent. Big screen TV, 3 DVD players and a DVD recorder, digital cable, good computer, basement, that's pretty much St. Louis. Pros: people who came from here: Lou Thesz, Nelly, Cedric the Entertainer, Red Fox. We had Wrestling at the Chase Cons: People who came from here: Nelly, Cedric the Entertainer. People keep thinking STL is the capital of Missouri. It's Jefferson City you plebians!

Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 I live in East Providence, RI. I think we're too poor to afford a website. The city is split into three different subcities. Everyone is so fucking proud of their subsection and it annoys the fuck out of me. Oh and Corey Lazarus and KingPK are from RI and Mass. East coast rocks bitch. Guest meanmaisch Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Washington Township, New Jersey- fairly sizable suburb twenty minutes away from Philadelphia. Filled to the brim with elitist people who think they are wealthier than they actually are. CZW ran shows from the Sewell area of the Township during 2000 and 2001 (Champs Sports Arena). Too much build-up and too many people. We will be reaching 50,000 citizens within the next decade. Far too many senior citizens.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Humble, TX Location: Northeast Houston Notable Contributions: Humble Oil...which later became Exxon. David Boston wide reciever for the Arizona Cardinals. Bertrand Berry plays for the Broncos. Both went to Humble High School where I went. I graduated with David Boston and even knew him. Pretty much Humble is just a suburb stuck on the northside of Houston. It's a whole lot of stuff packed into a small area so it get's kind of annoying. Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 5, 2003 I live in St.Paul. White Bear Lake is my home town. It's gotta about 24,000. A big lake. It's kinda the red headed step-child of the Twin Cities. No malls, or places like Krispy Kreme. It was fun place to grow up. It wasn't really crowded like the Minneapolis Suburbs, and it had a small town feel. Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Mississauga, Ontario. Population: Around 200,000 or so I think. It's probably more. Pros: Big-city perks (clubs, malls, offices, etc.) with a small-town feel. The strip club capital of Ontario, known for it's saucy dancers and quite loose rules on touching. My friend actually almost had sex with a dancer one time 'cause she was getting so into their lapdance. Then the song finished and she demanded more money. Cons: Too many white boys who think they're thugs. Really slutty 14 and 15 year olds who I can't get with because I'm 19. Not too many good local bars in my area.
