Worst ever non-comedy/gimmick matches

I got into thinking about this when watching the HHH/Steiner 'match' and though i obviously compared it to patterson/brisco and nu jack/mustafa, as a main event which was hyped for months and given the bulk of tv time on every show running up to it I can't recall a worse one. If we're gonna get into star ratings, i think it's -***1/2 AT LEAST. Undercard crap with non-wrestlers and senoir citizens in garbage matches will always be around, but has there been a worse match in a main event slot like that one? I haven't seen Lawler/Piper from KOTR btw, but I've heard things...

Hogan vs. Warrior II at Halloween Havoc '98 was God awful, and had been built up since that Summer.

Ron Simmons vs. the Barbarian for the WCW World title is often sited as being one of the worst and lowest drawing ppv mains of all time. Although it was co-main with I believe Rude vs. Sting for the Big Gold Belt.

The Doomsday match from Uncensored '96 is just mind numbingly ridiculous.

The Main Event of what is considered one of the worst ppvs of all time in GAB '91 was Arn Anderson and Paul Heyman vs. Missy Hyatt and Rick Steiner in a cage. I don't think I have to explain why that would be bad.

Hogan/Taker from Judgment Day '02 and Triple H/Taker from KOTR '02, there's a pair of very shitty main events, just total crap.

I'll nominate UT/Kane Judgment Day 1998. Although, the main attraction was Austin being FIRED!!! But the match was OFF.

any match with Rayo de Jalisco or Giant Silva. Giant Silva matches suck so bad that his matches are only one fall when most matches are 2 out of 3 in Mexico.

I know the least enjoyable match I've ever seen is Jim Neidhart vs. Skinner. This was from one of those old WWF compilation tapes, I can't remember which one, but if you happen to run across this atrocity, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. They literally do NOTHING but chinlocks and stall around for FIFTEEN MINUTES, which ends in a draw.

I mean, what the fuck? WHY HAVE A FIFTEEN MINUTE DRAW BETWEEN NEIDHART AND SKINNER? And even if something possesses the bookers to make that match, why, oh why put it on a commerical tape?

I will never watch it again.

Bruiser Brody vs Some one who's name slips my mind...They do 40 mins of rest holds in order to "Kill the town" and allow World Class to take it over....

I could cite the obvious ones....But I'll go with a forgotten (kinda the idea) gem...Jarrett/Sting in WCW's dying days in Late 2000.

Do you mean the Halloween Havoc match, when everyone from Beach Sting to Sequin Jacket Sting to Lobsterman Sting ran in?

The one and only.

I thought that match was okay. I liked the different Stings coming out. I thought that promo Jarett cut the week before on Nitro when he came out dressed as Bleech Blonde Sting was sort of funny.

So true . . .

Although, if I remember right, Greg Valentine vs. Haku from Rampage 1991 MAY have been worse. I didn't really give either match a repeat viewing.

Sting vs Brett Hart WCW Halloween Havoc 1998 was very bad

Haku vs. Valentine, eh? That one might have potential, but I doubt it can live up to the level of Neidhart/Skinner.

Undertaker/Gonzalez from WM IX stands out to me as well.

Shane Douglas must have had a fair few 5-hour long crapfests in ECW. He has less of a moveset than HHH.

The worst offender to my mind is Perro Aguayo vs. Konnan in the main event of the When Worlds Collide PPV.

It's probably not the worst out of the matches mentioned here, but when compared to the build up to it, it's got to be the worst failure. The only good thing in the whole match is Eddie Guerrero arguing with the fans at the end. It's HORRIBLE, sooooo boring and long and dull and repetitive, jesus I dont think I could ever watch that again.

The match itself sucked, but the stuff with Taker being chlorophormed and coming back out after being taken to the back I thought was pretty cool even though I maybe the only one.

It was entertaining crap.

Diesel and Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Psycho Sid and Tatanka from King of the Ring '95.

The whole KOTR 95 card was bad.

King of the Ring '99. Big Show. Kane. 3 Minute Choke.

'Nuff said.

If I remember right, Douglas had a supposedly really bad match with Tully Blanchard in early '95 that had the ECW arena fans chanting for Bingo. ECW never put it on TV or on a tape, so I can't tell you if the match was that bad or not.

Bushwhakers vs Youngblood Brothers (?) from one of Terry Funk's retirement shows was the worst match I have seen recently. Luke and Butch played their Sheepherder heel roles and were bearable but their opponents were unbelievably poor. Anyone else ever had the misfortune of seeing that crappy team wrestle?
