That's about as moderate as you get. Didn't think I was that wishy-washy...

I think I majorly fucked mine up by using the "strongly" catergory too much. Oh well, we all knew where i was going anyway :P

Closest to Milton Friedman. A boring but very good Economist.

I'm one click right, two clicks down. Very middle of the road. It's my very devil's advocate nature because whenever I hear arguments from the right or left, I insticntively think of the counter point. It's helped and haunted me.

"What a wimp"

I may be a p*ssy, but when the next election comes around all the news networks will be fighting over each other to get me in their "focus" groups during each presidential debate.

:P

There will probably be free snacks, too...

This stuff is typically spun so that you wind up thinking you're what the author wants you to think but whatever.

What is the real differance between "strongly agreeing/disagreeing" and just "agreeing/disagreeing"? I ask you, DrTom, seeing as how I consider you to be intelligent.

Most bias is suppressed by publishers/station managers.

That's garbage. If anything, they add their own spin on the story.

Take for instance the rumor of a military draft. This had to have been covered on every news channel out there - aside from Fox News. Know why? Because there is no military draft and there are no plans for one to be made. I'm the only peson at my entire university that isn't somewhat uneasy about the draft - basically because I know there isn't one.

There is a reason why the military likes Fox News. Sure, I'll buy into the fact that Fox is a tad on the conservative side but they are a lot more moderate than any other channel out there. From watching Fox, I get the impression it's not that they are right or left - it's that they are pro-America and don't put up with the flawed anti-American rhetoric that is often presented by the liberals, communists, socialists, etc that are so often featured on CNN and the other channels.

Bullshit.

First, find me an article where the stations were harping on the draft for a significant amount of time, because that 'rumor' was shot up as soon as it was thunked up.

Second, who the fuck do you think you're fooling by saying Faux News is even remotely moderate? Faux is at least as conservative as CNN/MSNBC are liberal, if not more.

Who the fuck do I think I am? Wow, what language.

Well for one, they employ plenty of liberals and each and every political story involves a dual interview with a member of each side of the fence.

Plenty of liberals?

Like who, Hannity? O'Reilly?

You know, so much talk of spin, I thought I'd post this:

"I'm spinning around

Move out of my way

I know you're feeling me because you like it like this

I'm breaking it down

I'm not the same

I know you're feeling me because you like it like this."

Yes, Kylie's "Spinning Around" should be the new theme song of any news program where there isn't just straight reporting going on.

I'm sorry, I had to do it. (ducks tomatoes) But it works when you think about it!! (ducks boots and flower pots)

God damn you :P

I was listening to it and reading this thread and the O'Reilly one, and it came to me like a divine revelation: "THE CHORUS IS PERFECT FOR THIS THREAD!"

BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA!!!!!

Did you just... hahahaha.... call Hannity a liberal?

Wow, get off my thread.

Guest Tyler McClelland

"In addition to..."

Implies that, hmm, perhaps you think he is.

If so, I have nothing further to say to you.

I'm perfectly aware of Sean Hannity's political stand. I bought his book. The fact that you included him as a liberal knowing full well what he was as simply a trick for me to fall into since I didn't spend much time reading your response was cute. They teach you that in socialist school?

Okay, so I proved that Fox employes plenty of liberals. Any other brain busters for me?

Guest Tyler McClelland

Hahahaha.

Funny, sarcasm is seen as a trick now.

It's only a "trick" to the ignorant.

You haven't proven a damned thing, you've simply stated your personal opinion that someone not as conservative as you is considered a 'liberal'.

Posted

I don't recall mentioning me at all. The conversation was on the validity of Fox being moderate. I've shown that. At least I assume I have since you haven't come up with any other arguments for me to shoot down.

Guest Tyler McClelland

You haven't shown the validity of Fox being moderate because quite frankly, you're just throwing random "liberals", and I use that term loosely, out there.

I'm not even gonna bother arguing with your absurdity, though, because even conservatives admit that Faux isn't remotely moderate.

Guest Kotzenjunge

I just now made the Faux = Fox connection.

(credibility is flushed down the toilet due to excessive stupidity)
