SJL METAL - FEBRUARY 4, 2003

Venue: The world tour continues! Budokan Hall, Tokyo, Japan.

Card:

TRIPLE THREAT

Aecas vs Omega Storm vs Sean Atlas

Poor Omega Storm is still winless in his SJL career, despite several great showings. Can he finally get one down under the 'W' column between newbies Sean Atlas and Aecas?

Rules: Frist pin wins. Regular DQ, countout, and pinfall/submission rules apply.

SINGLES MATCH

Christian Blackwell vs Mike Van Siclen

Picking up his first win on Crimson, Christian Blackwell looks to make it two in a row in a followup match with Mike Van Siclen. Who may or may not have won on Crimson. We still aren't sure. Regardless, the two look to put on an little scientific diddy to the delight of the Japanese crowd.

Rules: Singles match, regular DQ, countout and pinfall/submission rules apply.

SINGLES MATCH

EUROPEAN TITLE

Chris Card vs Janus©

Before this show, Janus appeared to be looking to become the longest reigning SJL European champion in a rather unconventional fashion: By never defending the belt! This all comes to a stop on Metal, however. Despite being eliminated from the World Title Tournament by Dace, the still smouldering Chris Card comes into town for a Knock-Down-Drag-Out OK Corral Showdown-With-Geisha-Located-Seasoning-Katie-Bar-The-Door-Slobberknocker! Das right. Let's see if Card can reverse his forutunes by winning the Euro Title, or if Janus, who's already secured a place in the second round of the WTT, will keep on truckin'.

Rules: Singles match, regular DQ, countout and pinfall/submission rules apply.

MAIN EVENT

HANDICAP TAG MATCH

NO-DQ (Well, duh.)

"Hollywood" Spike Jenkins/Crow/Insane Luchador vs Dace Night/Matt Myers

Wherever Dace will go, Ultraviolence is sure to follow. Especially if the guys you're facing happen to be Spike Jenkins, Crow and Andrew Rickmen. Eek. Dace is still smarting with injury, and it showed on Crimson. But fear not! Dace goes not into battle alone, but with a partner, the returning "Punk Rockstar" Matt Myers! Will the enthusiasm the former world champion brings to the table help overcome the 3-2 odds? Or will the fact that Matt is just a little out of his element hamper his team's cause? Well, it should be a helluva' entertaining main event, at the very least.

Rules: Tag rules; only two men can be in the ring at any time, and you must tag in and out of the match. First pin wins. Outside of that, the chairs are over there, and we've set up an outlet for the weedwhacker over there...

A subtle display of pyrotechnics goes off on the Metal stage, followed by the secondary SmarkTron displaying the SJL World Tour animated logo. The size of the set, stage and ramp is reduced due to the location of the show. The fans cheer while the TV camera pans the crowd, as they were told to do by Funyon. At ringside, the commentary table is to the right of the Japanese announcer team's table, and the booming Australian voice of Axis is being broadcast around the world.

Axis: We welcome you to the second stop on the Smarks Junior League World Tour, Tokyo, Japan! Glad you could join us for this edition of Metal, live from the Land of the Rising Sun! I'm Axis, and joining me is my co-host, The Suicide King.

Suicide King: That's right folks, we are live from Japan. Things are a bit different here, but the show will be just as exciting as ever.

Axis: Things sure are different, and the first match up will be different as well. It'll be the official debut of two new SJL superstars, who will face each other, and another rookie who arrived just before they did...

The voice of Axis trails off as the standard arena music fades and the lights dim for a few moments, then relight in a fast strobe, going from neon green, to light blue, to white at random. The house speakers rumble with thunder for a moment, then a loud thunderclap is heard, accompanied with a bright flash of pyro from the entranceway. After the thunder, "One Of A Kind" by Breaking Point spins up nice and loud. The Omega Storm, as he calls himself, struts out onto the stage. He is met with some applause from the Japanese fans, who give him that first-guy-out pop in Japan. He walks down the ramp with bit of an angry look on his face, sometimes shouting back at the crowd. There's no discernable reaction from the fans, as Funyon reads off his cue card...

"The following Triple Threat Match is set for one fall. The first man to score a pinfall or a submission on either of his opponents wins the contest. Standard disqualification and countout rules apply. Introducing, from New Haven, Connecticut, USA weighing in at 245 pounds, or 111 kilograms, THE OMEGA STORM!"

By the time Funyon finished his unnecessarily long speech, with a metric conversion no less, Storm is already in the ring. The referee already took away his tazer, much to Omega Storm's dismay. He walks around grumbling and yelling at the fans that are now mostly against him, and the idea of a triple threat match in General. Suddenly, as his music dies out, the opening chords to Breaking Benjamin's "Polyamorous" play as the lights flash accordingly. A small explosion goes off onstage and behind it, Sean Atlas appears. He walks down the ramp to the music, face hidden behind the white mask. The crowd applauds him as well, if only because of the mask.

"His opponent, making his way to the ring, from Chicago, Illinois, USA, weighing 230 pounds, or 105 kilograms, SEAN ATLAS!"

Atlas walks around the ring, teasing some fans with an American-made high five, but pulls away at the last second, upsetting the parent of a six year old. He turns his attention to Omega Storm in the ring, and wisely stays on the outside, leaning on the timekeeper's table. His music fades, and Rob Zombie's "Superbeast" starts up. Red lights flash around the arena. The SmarkTron displays the name of Aecas with blood dripping onto it, then down from it. Aecas walks through the curtain, hair loose and pupils blotted out, the snaking dragon on his body standing out most as he heads for the ring...

"Their opponent, hailing from Shrewsbury, England, he weighs in at 265 pounds, or 120 kilograms, he is, AECAS!"

Restless and anxious, Omega Storm attacks Aecas just as he comes through the ropes. The fans show disapproval in the subtle, Japanese way, while Atlas, still by the timekeeper's table, motions for the timekeeper to start the match.

Axis: King, it looks like Omega Storm couldn't wait to get this fight going, and Sean Atlas doesn't seem to even want to get in the ring

Suicide King: And good for him! While Aecas and Storm wear each other out, Atlas can relax. Smart man.

In the ring, Storm forces Aecas against the ropes. He sends him running into the other side and on his way back, meets him with a lariat. Aecas stumbles back, and uses the ropes for leverage. Omega Storm notices Atlas on the outside and yells for him to get into the ring. Atlas ignores the demand and points to Aecas, whose arm is in midswing at this point. *slap* is the sound heard as the hard chop to the back makes perfect contact. Quickly, he grabs both of Storm's arms and tries a Full Nelson Slam, but Storm slips out of it. He punches Aecas straight to the chest, hooks his arms from behind, and goes for a Reverse Underhook DDT... but it doesn't go and Aecas spins around, rotating both of them and hits a Reverse DDT of his own. The fans applaud the reversals and effort of both men.

Aecas stands, gives a look at his other opponent, still on the outside, then returns his attention to Storm. He helps him up, sends him off the ropes and on Strom's way back, catches him, and drops him to the mat for a sidewalk slam. He lifts Omega Storm and walks him over to the corner. Standing over him, Aecas starts a ten punch combo... One, two, three punches to Storm, without any retaliation. The fans join in at this point... "shi", "go", "roku"... Not used to hearing it in Japanese, Aecas shows a bit of a grin and he punches away at Storm. "shichi!", "hachi!", "ku!"...."jyu...awwwww" In the middle of the tenth punch, Omega Storm found the strength to push Aecas away almost to mid-ring. Staggering forward, he runs towards Aecas, but he's met with a high angle back drop, almost landing on his head as he hits the mat. the crowd lets out an "oohhh" and watches as Aecas goes for the early cover:

...One...

...Two.. No!

Aecas is pulled off Omega Storm by the hands of the third participant, Atlas. Storm also kicked out right as Aecas as was pulled off. Atlas slides into the ring, and kicks away into the chest of Aecas while he is still on the ring floor. Storm casually rolls away as Atlas brings Aecas to his feet. He slides around to Aecas' side, setting him up for a Russian Leg Sweep, but Aecas counters it puts his arms around him for a belly-to-belly-suplex...which Atlas slips out of after a swift kick to both knees. He grabs Aecas' arms and turns, wrenching it into uncomfortable positions. Aecas tries to turn with it, and after a momentary struggle does, hooks the arm that was holding him, and with a short run he hits a Half Nelson Face Buster!

Some applause from the crowd is followed by Aecas coming to his feet, shortly before Sean Atlas did the same. Aecas is quick to respond and grabs Sean from behind. He snaps his hips and sends Atlas flying backwards, hitting the Release German successfully. Omega Storm, meanwhile, is recovered and climbing the ropes in one of the corners. Just as he gets Aecas' attention, he flies off, and lands a perfect splash right onto Aecas!

Axis: Great strategy by The Omega Storm, doing what Atlas did at the onset of the match.

Storm gets to his feet, and runs toward Atlas. He grabs his arm, and whips him towards the other corner. Atlas has to jump over Aecas' body just to get there safely. Storm follows behind, but is soon stopped when Aecas catches him in a Spinebuster! Seeing this from behind, Atlas stands in a position from which Aecas is vulnerable, and the moment he turns around, Atlas...

Axis: ...kicks him right under the chin! What a strong superkick by Sean Atlas!

King: Relax, it's just a kick... jeez..

Axis: But a good kick. Enough to knock Aecas down for the first time in this match.

Atlas runs towards Storm, and before he can stand, Atlas drops an elbow to his chest. He drags Storm's body up again, and puts him in a front face lock. With a quiet groan, Atlas lifts... and DROPS his straight down, hitting a vicious brainbuster. The fans ooh and ahh at the move, but unlike their American counterparts, don't flip out about it. Quickly, Atlas goes for the cover, hoping he's got enough time...

...One...

...Two...NO!

Aecas has come to his senses, his feet, and over to Atlas, breaking up the pin. He lifts Atlas up, then furiously throws him down on top of Storm. Up again, Aecas, pulls Atlas over to the corner. He thrusts his shoulder into Atlas' gut several times. With Atlas winded and weakened, Aecas sets him up on the top turnbuckle. He climbs up one rope, then the second. While he's in the middle of what looks to be the setup for a superplex, Omega Storm is up behind him and jumps... hitting a great dropkick to the back!

Axis: Not a smart move on Storm's part. He could have hit something a lot more devastating from that position.

Omega Storm takes the spot that Aecas occupied a moment earlier. He sets Atlas' head up under his arm, climbs up to the highest rope, and is just about ready to hit the Superplex when Aecas sneaks up under him, facing backwards, in perfect position to hit a powerbomb. In an attempt to hit the move anyway, Storm lifts Atlas, but at the same moment, Aecas starts a powerbomb on Storm. With everyone's momentum working in one direction, Aecas hits a HUGE powerbomb on both of his opponents, while Storm's Superplex carried Atlas over all the way to the other corner of the ring! The appreciative fans applaud the spot and "oohhh" at the sequence.

Aecas is back to his feet first, and immediately goes after Storm. He grabs his arms and sends him into the ropes. As Storm comes back, Aecas grabs him, and on the run, hits a Sambo Suplex. It's apparent that Omega Storm is hurting by now. Aecas picks him up again and places him in the Suplex position. He lifts, and holds Storm straight up in the air for several seconds... until Storm starts kicking his legs, and forces Aecas to lose his balance. He drops Storm back down in front, and very swiftly, Storm manages to hit Aecas too low for comfort. After noticing that Atlas is slowly getting up in his corner, Storm gets behind Aecas and hooks him around for a German... and hits it! He pulls him up with the arms still hooked, and hits another one! Slowly, he staggers up again, and with raw force, drives Aecas down into the mat with a third German Suplex!

Axis: What a show of athleticism by The Omega Storm. After getting caught in the middle of that Powerbomb-Superplex, then taking a beating, he still comes back with three rolling Germans.

Suicide King: Just about the first impressive thing he's done all match...

In his corner, Atlas stands up, knowing that Aecas was just slammed all over the ring. He walks over, and hooks him around just as Storm did. German Suplex! Still holding it, he stands up, and hits another one! Completely ripping off Omega Storm, Atlas, gets up again, and rolls it into a third German Suplex! Wanting to one-up Storm, he stands up again, and goes for a fourth one, but no! Storm breaks it up! Atlas comes to his feet and into Storm's face. A shoving match between the two ensues, until Storm grabs Atlas' arm and sends him into the ropes. Atlas bounces off, comes back is met by a Manhattan Drop from Omega Storm! Atlas stumbles back, and turns slightly, allowing Storm to get behind him, hooking him around for a German Suplex and... No! Atlas shakes him off, steps around and counters into a German Suplex of his own! The fans applaud the spectacle...

Axis: Great job by Atlas, constantly aware of Storm.

Suicide King: With all these German Suplexes being thrown, you'd think we're in Berlin tonight!

Axis: ....

Suicide King: Ba-dum-bump---clink.

Storm finds his way back up, but the moment he stands, Atlas already has his arm. He whips him towards the ropes.. but doesn't let the hand go. Storm is snapped back into Atlas, but before he can do anything, Storm knees him right to the gut. Thinking quickly, Storm hooks his head and drives it into the mat with a DDT. Throughout all of this, Aecas is still down from all the German Suplexes influcted upon him by both men. Neither one thought to pin him though. Atlas gets back to his feet first now, and finally pays some attention to Aecas. He walks over, picks him up, and whips him towards Storm. Noticing that a 265 pound man is heading ring into him, Storm leaps in the air, and leapfrogs right over him! Quickly, he gets on the mat and the moment Aecas returns from the ropes, he sends him flying via a Monkey Flip... right at Atlas! Unable to completely get out of the way, Atlas couldn't avoid the impact of Aecas' landing. But he still has enough presence of mind to cover him:

...One...

...Two...

...NO!

Omega Storm jumps in before the ref counts to three, interrupting the count.

Suicide King: See, this is why I hate Triple Threats. Anytime somebody covers, the third guy breaks it up. These things go on forever!

Axis: What, you don't want to see three rookies go at it?

Suicide King: No, you asshat. Not like this anyway.

From the ground, Storm starts to go at it with Atlas. Both men stand, and Atlas starts to throw forearms. Storm retaliates with punches, completely ignorant of the referee's presence in the ring. He leads him into the ropes, and whips, but Atlas reverses the momentum, sending Storm running. As he bounces off the ropes, Aecas comes to his feet and stands right next to Sean Atlas. Thinking the same thing, the two of them catch Storm as he returns, fling him into the air, and don't both catching him when he lands, face first, onto the ring mat! But the brief teamwork by the two men doesn't last, as Atlas quickly charges at Aecas, knocking him down with a clothesline. He brings the man to his feet, and, grabbing his arm, slingshots him to the outside. Aecas lands in a heap on the floor mats, and Atlas follows him out as the referee prepares to count...

The sound of clanking metal is heard, and we see Aecas' face in agony as his body was heaved against the steel ring steps. Atlas walks over, and without any hesitation, slams the back of Aecas' head against the stairs! ("Two!", goes the ref.) He sees Aecas' hand supporting him on the mat, decides to slightly lift the stairs, and drop them across the wrist of Aecas. The scream drowns out the sound of the metal landing. Meanwhile, inside the thing, Storm is slow in getting up, mostly because he sees no reason to hurry. ("Three!") Back outside, Atlas grabs Aecas by his hair, and leads hm towards the announce tables. He yanks hard on the hair, and despite warnings from the referee, slams Aecas' head on the table. For the moment, he leaves him and bends down, grabbing the mat...("Four!")

Axis: Oh no, King. it looks like Sean Atlas is about to strip away the surrounding protective mat and use that hard concrete!

King: Yes... Let us watch.

Swiftly, Atlas peels away the rubber mat, exposing the concrete underneath. Coming back to Aecas, he mouths something to the announcers, but because of his mask they couldn't clearly understand what it was. ("Five!") Holding Aecas by his neck, Atlas is setting up a possible Powerbomb... but Aecas fights back! He repeatedly throws punches into the midsection of Sean Atlas, nearly causing him to double over. ("Six!") Once he does, Aecas grabs his neck and tries to get a good grip to set up his Diamond Cutter... he starts the motion... but no! Atlas pulls his head out, turns Aecas back around, kicks to the gut, and hits Aecas' own finisher on him, the Diamond Cutter, right into the concrete floor!!

Axis: Unbelievable! A move that Atlas commonly uses in his matches, Aecas just tried as a finishing maneuver, and it cost him...

("Seven!" is the count now, and Omega Storm is up enough in the ring to see all of this.)

King: I like how Atlas set is up so conveniently for himself that Aecas would land on the concrete, but he, himself would hit the double layer of padding. Brilliant.

Aware of the count, Atlas stands up, and takes a moment to admire what he did. ("Eight!") With the referee getting dangerously close to ten, Atlas dives back into the ring, but is met with relentless kicks from Storm. He picks Atlas up by his head and neck, but inly brings it high enough to slam it against his knee. From there, Storm hooks both of Atlas' arms and lifts, trying an Underhook Face First Piledriver, but it is to no avail as Atlas fights to keep it from happening. Out of frustration, Aecas just lifts Atlas' entire body and tosses it over him in a Underhook Suplex instead. Atlas groans in pain, wishing he could get the proper recovery time, by Storm is right back on him, bringing him to his feet again. Atlas tries to attack the knees of Storm, as he so often does to others, but Omega will have none of it, and he grabs the leg, turns his back to Atlas, puts the leg over his shoulder and promptly sits on the mat, executing his Shoulder Leg Breaker maneuver.

Axis: At this rate, this match will be over in a hurry.

King: Well, Aecas is out of it for a while, so there isn't much else for Storm to worry about.

Axis: If you're wondering why Aecas isn't being counted out, it's because this is a triple threat match, and doing so would be futile anyway.

After causing Atlas to plod around the ring with one leg hurt, Storm uses the opportunity to grab him and put him on his back in a Fireman's Carry position. With a small running start, Storm jumps slightly, and from the fireman's carry position hits a devastating flapjack on Atlas! The thud of his back hitting the ring was heart all throughout Budokan Hall. In the ring, Omega Storm covers Atlas, going for the win...

... ONE ...

... TWO ...

... THRNNNNOOO!!!

Atlas finds in himself the energy to kick out. Storm is shocked that the high Flapjack didn't seal the match for him, and verbally berates the referee about it. Quickly realizing that it won't accomplish anything, he turns his attention back to Atlas, who is slowly recovering on the ring mat. He lifts him up to his feet, looks at the eyes behind the white mask, and smacks them with the back of his hand. This wakes Atlas up gives him such a rush of momentum that he throws a blatant fist right at Storms face. Without any pause in between, he trows another, then a third. Quickly, Storm retaliates with... *smack* a knife edge chop to the bare chest of Sean Atlas. *smack* Again. And another. *smack. He leads Atlas into the corner, back to the corner pads. *smack* Another chop to the chest now, which is taking on a very crimson color. Then, Storm slides his back up against Atlas, and lifts his arms to get Atlas in a Crucifix. He lifts, and starts to walk toward the middle of the ring with Atlas on his back... then, as if back from the trenches of war, Aecas, who all this time had been on the outside, lying in a pool of his own blood, comes back in the ring to see a defenseless Sean Atlas held in the air by Omega Storm. Thinking quickly, Aecas charges at both men, and.... GORE! GORE!! GORE!!!

Suicide King: Aecas hits a Gore on The Omega Storm, knocking him to last week's Mall Brawl!

Axis: But he missed Atlas! He tried to hurt Atlas more, hoping the double impact of two bodies would get him, but Atlas wisely used Storm's body for leverage and escaped just in time, with all the action happening under him.

Aecas turns around, realizing that Atlas came away unscathed. He charges at Atlas, hoping that this time, his other finishing move will actually hit Sean Atlas.... but it doesn't!!! Atlas sidesteps, gives Aecas a little extra push, causing him to Gore his way right through the ropes and out of the ring! Still groggy but pissed, Atlas makes his way to the fallen body of Omega Storm, hoists him up onto his shoulders in a fireman's carry, and with a small running start he jumps and falls to the side...

Axis: The Saint's Demise! Atlas hits the Saint's demise on Omega Storm!

Suicide King: That had to have done it.. That had to have finished off Storm for good..

Atlas covers...

... ONE ...

... TWO ...

... THREEEE!!!!

* ding ding*

"The winner of this match, SEAN ATLAS!"

The voice of Funyon though the arena. The announcement is met with displeasure from the Japanese crowd, as they didn't see the technical masterpiece the wanted, nor did the fan favorite come out on top. Meanwhile, back in the ring, Sean Atlas rolls out to ringside, on the far side, Storm is being tended to by the referee, and Aecas is on the outside, very much out of it. Atlas uses the barricade to make his way to the back, and as he walks, the six year old who he teased with a high five at the start of the match smacks him on the back of his head. Atlas ignores it and walks away, while Aecas and Storm each recover.

Axis: We'll be right back after a word from our sponsor.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to SJL Metal, where we have just witnessed Atlas, Aecas, and Storm duke it out in a triple threat match!”

“And I didn’t even hear the crowd the whole time, Axis! What’s up with that?”

“I don’t know. These Japanese sure are quiet…”

“It’s always the quiet ones, isn’t it. What is it with those quiet ones!”

“… do you expect drums to go off now, King?”

“Bite me.”

“Well, anyway, we’re ready for our next big huge scary contest, as Mike Van Siclen is set to do battle with Christian Blackwell!”

Funyon clears his throat. “The following contest is scheduled for one fall!”

-=: Ding Ding Ding :=-

The lights dim down, but into complete darkness, as "Three Libras" by A Perfect Circle kicks up, slowly fading in, as Blackwell walks out, head down. As he walks down the rampway, little burts of fire shoot up from beside the ramp, and stay lit as he walks past and down to the ring. He slowly walks up the steps and enters the ring, quietly pacing around as he awaits the match...

“Introducing first!” Funyon begins. “He hails from Rosslare, Ireland! He is two-hundred and forty-eight pounds, CHRISTIAN BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL!”

The crowd, um… they clap, or something. Yeah. They’re generally kind of quiet as the beating of drums that begins “Damage Done” by Dark Tranquility blasts throughout the arena, as the lights go out and blue strobes begins to flash in time with the music. Mike Van Siclen steps onto the ramp, his arms extending in a bent crucifix as the crowd… claps, kind of quietly. Mike glares at them a bit, shaking his head and jogging down the ramp, through the strobes. Blackwell stares at him a bit before looking away, and Van Siclen takes this opportunity to storm the ring! He slides inside, looking to quickly take over on Blackwell… but Christian evades! Mike bounces off the ropes as Blackwell bends over, looking for the back body drop… but Van Siclen leaps forward, hooking one leg and rolling Blackwell up, grabbing Christian’s tights with the hand he holds the roll and putting his feet on the ropes.

“ONE!”

”TWO!”

“THREE!”

-=: Ding Ding Ding :=-

Van Siclen rolls out of the ring and dashes out of the arena, putting his fists in the air atop the ramp as the crowd… claps, kinda quietly. Van Siclen stares at them with a “who-are-you-people” look before turning and leaving the ring, and leaving a very angry Christian Blackwell in ring as we fade to black…

"Grind" by Alice In Chains fires up and Chris Card walks into the entranceway, followed by Natasha. With a slight sneer towards the crowd, Chris And Natasha walk slowly and deliberately down towards the ring, with Chris stopping to part the ropes for Natasha. Inside the ring Natasha raises her arms above her head showing off her figure, and then points them towards Chris and he drops into his Heartbreaker pose, crouched in a fighting stance, arms crossed across his chest, thumbs pointing towards his heart.

The lights go out all across the arena, plunging the place into darkness. Nothing happens for several moments, until the start of Fear Factory's "Resurrection" can be heard. On either side of the rampway, blue pyros begin to fountain into the air as the lyrics start:

"Consumed with memories,

That preceded today.

Given a chance to bereave

Life that's slipping away!"

As the heavy guitar chords hit, a spotlight focuses onto the stage entrance as Janus strides out from behind the curtain, tossing his hair from his face and stalking towards the ring. Each blue pyro goes out as he passes it, and he climbs into the ring slowly and stoically. He stands in the center of the ring, lit only by the spotlight......and lifts his arms into the air. Blue flame-pyros explode from the turnbuckles as the lights come back on and "Resurrection" fades out as Janus waits in the ring.

Funyon: The following match is scheduled for one fall with a 30 minute time limit, and is for the SJL European Champinship! Introducing first, the challenger. He is accompanied by Natasha, and weighs in at 264lbs. He is Technical Perfection. He hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS CAAAAAAAAAAAAARD.

Card drops into the Heartbreaker pose as a volley of purple and white streamers sail into the ring. Card looks round to acknowledge the fans as Natasha slinks off to the commentator table, adjusting her neck brace and sitting beside Suicide King, who responds with a massive grin.

Funyon: And his opponent, and the reigning European Champion, tipping the scales at 350lbs, and measuring a massive 7’2 tall. He is massive, muscular, memorable, multifaceted and magnificent! He is JAAAAAAAAAAAANUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS

Janus raises a fist to the sky and the crowd responds by showering him with black and white streamers. Janus waits for the ring assistants to drag the streamers off him, while Card encourages them by stamping near their arms as they reach into the ring, earning a round of semi shocked boos from the crowd, Card heeling it up old school style for the Japanese audience.

Axis: Well this one should be a barn burner! The towering inferno that is Janus against the technical marvel that is Chris Card.

Natasha: Chris will win of course. He just doesn’t look right without gold around his waist anyways.

Suicide King: Didn’t help him against Dace though.

Natasha: He was fast counted. AND he got a shoulder up. Don’t you notice anything?

Suicide King: Yeah Axis, don’t you notice anything?

Axis: I didn’t see anything wrong with the popular Dace Night’s victory.

Inside the ring Card and Janus are staring each other out, Janus looking down over Card as the Japanese audience, size marks at the best of times, ooh and aah at Janus’ massive frame. The crowd hush in anticipation as the pair lock up, Janus quickly powering Card down into a headlock and then firing Card off into the ropes, Card grabbing hold to steady himself as Janus shapes for a shoulder block. Janus offers a test of strength, but Card wisely refuses and backs off after teasing Janus by raising his arms ready to tie up in the knuckle locks. Card moves in towards Janus, firing a roundhouse kick at Janus, who backs off a step to avoid it. Janus charges at Card, boot up high and Card attempts to counter with a dragon screw, but Janus shakes off Card with a flick of his massive muscular leg. Card rolls backwards with a defensive fall and composes himself in the corner.

Axis: Card isn’t going to be able to match power with Janus. The monster shows, well, monstrous strength.

Natasha: But he’ll be no match technically for Chris.

Suicide King: No one is!

Natasha: Precisely. You’re in a good mood today King.

Suicide King: It’s ALWAYS good to be King. Especially now you’re back!

Natasha adjusts her neck brace and eyes King suspiciously.

Natasha: I’m not sure it’s good to be back, especially because of my neck injury. It was call to arms by Chris. He wanted managerial representation to prevent him being screwed again.

Fully composed Card stalks around, not letting Janus charge at him. Card waits on Janus to launch a slower attack, taking stutter steps backwards to avoid Janus’ meat hook like punches, as the monster fires out strong body blows towards Card. Card, losing patience with having to stand off makes a definite move in and fires off a kick to Janus’ shins, making Janus stagger forwards a little, then follows up with a series of kicks moving round Janus, working on his back and ribs. Card steps through for a Crescent Kick but Janus ducks and Card steps through, Janus grabbing hold of Card’s back and Card scrabbles forwards to hold the ropes, making the crowd ooh again as they anticipate the 7’2 German suplex.

Axis: Janus threatening a massive German there.

Suicide King: I’m sure you’d approve of a massive German, wouldn’t you Natasha?

Natasha: Well that all depends on where he was massive.

The referee orders Janus to break his hold of Card’s back and interposes himself as the pair walk to the middle of the ring. An order is given to fight on and Card and Janus immediately lock up, this time Card going for a snap kick to the solar plexus of Janus to give an advantage. Card grabs for an arm of Janus and wrenches it backwards, throwing a crane wing kick to Janus’ face, staggering the main man, and Card keeps control of the hold, bending Janus’ arm round behind his back. Card reaches for Janus’ neck, but Janus powers forward, dragging Card with him virtually, and reaches one of his massive arms over the ropes. The referee calls for the break again and a ripple of applause launches its way through the crowd.

Axis: Janus narrowly avoiding an early Cardiac Arrest attempt there.

Natasha: I’m sure he’ll fall to it in the end, Axis.

Suicide King: I want him to win with the Heartbreaker. He named it after me you know.

Natasha: He’s been using that kick for years now. It just shows similar roots to your wrestling styles.

Suicide King: Well he’s always wanted to WRESTLE like me.

Natasha: Only more technically perfect!

Suicide King: Well ermm… errr… I’m prettier. So naaa.

The two grapplers move closer again in the center of the ring, Janus looking fired up and focused, Card nonchalantly adjusting his hair and his wrist tape. Card shoots for a leg of Janus, but the Force of Nature brushes him aside with a disdainful swat, then spins to grab one of Card’s arms as Card regains his footing. Janus twists the arm to a standing arm bar, then an arm wringer, then making Card drop to his knees in a spinning wristlock. Card arches his back to lessen the impact, then untwists himself, reversing the pressure. Card spins round to the back of Janus, locking on a weak full nelson, the height difference preventing him from getting any decent leverage. Janus powers round to reverse the hold and place Card in the full nelson, cranking it in tight, pressing hard on Card’s neck. Card reaches an arm round and attempts to break the hold, but Janus lifts him up high into the air and sits out, dropping Card tailbone first to the canvas. Janus floats over to cover but only draws a very low 2 count. A couple of “JAH-NUS-UH!” calls from the crowd lead Janus to raise a fist skywards and acknowledge the fans, who respond with a bunch more random howls of appreciation.

Axis: I think Janus, normally reviled in the US, is drawing the Japanese crowd onto his side. The impressive size of Janus and the near permanent sneer of Card could be influencing their decision of course.

Suicide King: These fans know nothing about wrestling. Or at least US wrestling. Not that fans in the US know anything about that either.

Natasha: Without the rest of the Magnificent Seven around, maybe the vicious streak is being sucked out of Janus. That can only work to Chris’ advantage.

Axis: It’s an extreme view but it may have some validity.

Suicide King: Suck-up!

Janus lifts Card up off the mat and wraps an arm round his waist. The massive wrestler takes two plodding steps forwards and plants Card back first to the mat hard. Janus lazily hooks a leg and leans back over Card 1… 2… and Card kicks out again. Janus lifts Card up again, not even breaking a sweat with the effort of lifting the 264lber up and again wraps an arm round the waist of the Canadian. Janus deliberately steps forward and downwards onto one knee and drops Card across it, Card howls in pain and clutches his back. Janus gives a sign to the crowd and slaps a side headlock on Card, after lifting him effortlessly again. Janus gives a high sign to the crowd and the crowd ooh again in anticipation. Janus lifts Card up suplex style, but Card flips over shifting his weight and landing on Janus. Janus flips him off easily and leans back against the ropes, waiting for Card to get up.

Axis: A Rage Unleashed attempt there. Janus looking to finish this one off early.

Suicide King: Card’s not doing too well today Natasha.

Natasha: Yes, but Chris is more than capable of recovering. It only takes 3 seconds to win a wrestling match. Besides it can be good to leave someone else in control but then use your skill to finish them off…

As Card rises from the mat Janus moves for him again, grabbing an arm and whipping him into the far ropes, waiting for Card’s return and then hitting a tilt-a-whirl side slam one handed! Janus rushes the ropes himself and then drops a leg, getting surprising air for one as large as himself. Janus raises quickly and drops a second leg. Janus goes to complete the trifecta, but Card is wise to the tactic and rolls quickly to his left, and Janus lands tailbone first on the canvas himself. Card rolls towards the outside looking to slip outside the ring and recover, but Janus grabs him by the wrestling tights as he rolls away, then lifts Card to a vertical base by the throat. Janus holds the goozle for a couple of seconds, and tries to lift Card for a chokeslam, but Card counters by throwing a pair of fast back elbows causing Janus to reflexively release his grip. Card throws a high crescent kick towards Janus, but the behemoth grabs Card’s leg, picks him up into a pumphandle, then pushes him up to the press slam position, like a power lifter in the clean and jerk. The crowd lets out a MASSIVE collective ooh of anticipation, followed by an equally unanimous appreciative round of applause as Card is sent crashing down to the mat, as Janus lets him drop while taking a nonchalant step forward.

Axis: Janus’ strength winning over this Japanese crowd.

Suicide King: Everywhere we go, idiots!

Natasha: That’s why Chris never plays the nationality card. There’s so many idiots everywhere, there’s no reason to cry nationalism when there are idiots in your own country too.

Suicide King: Well said.

Natasha: Of course America has MORE idiots…

Suicide King: Overall, or as a percentage?

Natasha: Well it’s hard to tell, because they groups together so readily. Mainly at wrestling events.

Axis: Well why the hell do you GO there then?

Natasha: We get paid, and Chris is so damn great at wrestling.

Temporarily disproving this theory in the ring, a battered Card rolls over, clutching his back. Janus kneels over the fallen Card and fires a couple of soupbone fists into Card’s kidney area. Janus rolls Card over for the pinfall attempt, cut Card shows his fighting spirit and breaks up the cover with a roll of his shoulder. Janus curses to the crowd and backs off. Card rises slowly and fires a weak looking chop into the chest of Janus, but the colossus no sells the blow and flattend Card with a massive lariat!

Suicide King: LARIATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Axis: A huge clothesline from Janus there.

Suicide King: I love Japanese commentators.

Janus covers Card, but again Card kicks out. Janus rolls Card over and goes for another pin, but Card counters with an inside cradle, and Janus kicks out. Janus goes to pretzel Card over into an ugly pin combination, but Card grabs an arm of Janus’ and holds on, then rolls through into a modified Majistral cradle. Janus kicks free and moves in for Card again, stalking Card in a three point stance, but Card uses a burst of energy and squirms round Janus, taking a leg out and then using an spinning ankle lock to twist Janus onto his stomach, then diving for a quick pin again 1… 2… And Janus, now looking increasingly frustrated with all of Card’s flash pin attempts charges roughly for Card, right into a drop toe hold. Card grapevines the leg and backwards, putting pressure on Janus’ legs, then floating over and round, pressing a knee into Janus’ back, before grabbing hold of one of Janus’ legs and pulling it back into a modified half crab. Card stands up a little in the crab, and then moves his foot, planting it firmly into Janus’ neck. Card then elevates the crab up to a near standing position, then drops both knees into Janus’ back while keeping the crab hold on!

Axis: Card making a comeback here.

Natasha: As I said, Janus has all the power, but Chris is all ability, all the time. Janus can’t match him on the mat with all that size advantage leveled out.

Axis: When both wrestlers are on the mat, height doesn’t matter.

Suicide King: What if you went for a sickle hold or a Regal Stretch and you can’t reach because the opponent is too tall to bridge round?

Axis: Well yes there is that.

Suicide King: I’m not just a pretty face you know. Though it is DAMN pretty, right Natasha?

Natasha: Conventional beauty is nothing. Pretty on the inside is all that matters.

Suicide King: Are YOU pretty on the inside?

Natasha: Of course not. And anyone that is has no chance with me.

Card cranks hard on the half crab, Janus finally showing some pain. Card stands, signals for a spinning move to the crowd and hits the Funk Spinning Toe Hold, much to the delight of the crowd, before dropping down into a leg bar. Signs of anguish finally cross Janus’ face as the continued pressure on his leg mounts. Card transitions up the leg to a heel hold, before lifting the leg and applying a toe hold, leaning backwards this time and elbow dropping Janus in his back as he falls to his back, locking in the move. Card winces as he lands, as the pain in HIS back is still floating around his nerve endings and his finely honed wrestling mind.

Axis: Card really piling on the pressure here. I’m not sure this tactic will finish Janus, but it sure will slow him down.

Natasha: It’s all a master strategy. Janus will be walking through treacle for the rest of the fight IF he can break this sequence without having to tap tap tap.

Card lifts himself and the leg again, bending it round and then wrapping his arms round it and his legs further up the lengthy thighs of Janus. Card drops backwards the other way into a cross knee breaker, and holds it in, wrenching hard on the leg first in a cross knee breaker, then dropping back further into a heel hold. Janus finally ends up close enough to a rope to reach a lengthy arm out and grab it. Janus takes the break after Card holds on for a massively long 4 count, and the crowd claps in appreciation of Janus’ skill in getting to the ropes. Janus stands up and limps over to the ropes to rest, and Card offers a mocking bow in Janus’ direction.

Axis: I’ve never seen a man stretched like that! Amazing work from Card there!

Natasha: I have.

Suicide King: Really? Where?

Natasha: I never give away personal secrets.

Janus approaches Card, but gets knocked backwards with a forceful front kick. Janus shakes off the effort and lunges at card, hitting a spear, but a well below par one due the limping nature of his approach. Card escapes from the mount to the guard, wrapping up Janus with his legs and preventing the colossal one from landing any strikes by wrapping his arms round Janus neck. Janus fires off a pair of ineffective looking elbows to Card’s ribs, and Card shuts his eyes, waiting for a moment to counter into a submission maneuver of his own.

Axis: Mixed Martial Arts style action here, Card looking like he has a solid guard locked in here.

Suicide King: Mixed Martial Arts and professional wrestling are the same thing. Ask Antonio Inoki!

Janus, realizing he doesn’t stand a chance of putting Card down from where he is, slowly stands, as Card remains locked in the Guard! Janus muscles up to a standing position then sits out into an improvised powerbomb! Card lands hard and Janus holds on 1… 2… and Card kicks out. Janus picks Card up from the floor and moves behind looking to hit Card with a Dragon Suplex but Card backs Janus into the ropes and hold on for dear life, the referee calling for a break, and the crowd clapping Card’s ring sense. Janus muscles Card into the centre of the ring and motions again for his Rage Unleashed, but as Card gets overhead, Janus’ leg buckles and again Card falls on top 1… 2… and Janus kicks out.

Axis: That bad wheel really starting to affect Janus now.

Natasha: It’s a technical advantage.

Suicide King: From Technical Perfection?

Natasha: Exactly.

Janus composes himself and stands again, But Card is ready for him and grabs an arm, before whipping Janus into the ropes. As Janus rebounds at Card, Card leaps and floors Janus with a massive jumping crescent kick… and Janus kips up!

Janus: BAKAYARO!

Suicide King: How rude!

Janus hobbles rapidly at Card and lashes out with a loose Lariat, but Card slips under and behind that move and wraps his arms round Janus’ head, sitting out into his crossface takedown. Card hold on 1… 2… and Janus kicks free. Card and Janus stand toe to toe, before Card lashes out with a massive kick, which Janus virtually ignores. Janus responds with a kick of his own, but Card doesn’t budge. Card fires another roundhouse kick and Janus ignores THAT, Janus responds with a wobbly looking side kick, but without proper purchase on his standing leg THAT fails to move Card and Card finally steps in and takes Janus down with an O-Soto-Gari!

Axis: Card resorting to technical takedowns again.

Suicide King: Space Tornado Card?

Natasha: C’mon Chris!

Suicide King: What about Space Tornado Perfection? Then you can get a motor industry sponsor!

Card grabs an arm of Janus and hammerlocks it on the ground, then with a howl of pain from his back manages just to lift Janus up to a standing position. Card wraps Janus’ neck up and hits a snap Cardiac Arrest! And Janus kips up!! Card Wraps Janus up again and hits a second Cardiac Arrest! AND JANUS KIPS UP AGAIN! Card creams Janus with a stiff Crescent Kick, and Janus doesn’t go down! A Second Crescent kick, and Janus doesn’t go down. Card finally snaps and hits Janus with a enzui-roundhouse kick, rib height roundhouse kick, rib height roundhouse kick, knee to the gut, back elbow, back elbow, uraken, leaping roundhouse enzuigiri combo and Janus just drops to his knees! Card regains his standing position and blasts Janus round the back of a head with another roundhouse kick. And another. And another. And a FOURTH! And FINALLY Janus goes down face first. Card goes for the cover 1… 2… and Janus STILL kicks out! Card finally goes for Janus’ injured leg again and wraps on a reverse heel hold. Janus hangs on for dear life.

Axis: This could be it. The big man could go down here.

Natasha: Give me the belt. It’s as good as Chris’

Janus screams out in agony as Card wracks his leg with pain. Janus reaches for the ropes and Card drags him back into the center of the ring. Natasha walks out with the European belt and looks into the ring, staring Janus right in the face. Natasha screams out for Janus to tap, and Janus screams a definite NO! The referee asks, and Janus screams NO! again. Natasha screams “Tap, Bitch, Tap!” and Janus responds with another negative response. The referee asks again. Another No. Natasha walks round the ring displaying the belt like a ring girl, and the crowd offers a few boos, but is more intently watching the action. Janus inches nearer the ropes and again gets pulled back. Another referee tap. Another no. Janus gets near the ropes again. The crowd starts a massive “JA-NUS-UH” chant. Again as Janus inches close, Card inches him away. Natasha moves round to Card’s side and looks him in the eyes, as Card maintains the hold. Card’s attention is grabbed by Natasha, as she lifts up the gold and shows it to the talented Canadian. Card grimaces, redoubles his efforts and locks the hold in unbearably tight for Janus. Janus’ fingers just touch the ropes for a millisecond, and then Card wrenches the giant into the middle of the ring again and finally, after one last desperate gasp of effort, Janus taps out!!

Axis: AND CHRIS CARD WINS! AND CHRIS CARD WINS! AND CHRIS CARD IS YOUR EUROPEAN CHAMPION!

Natasha throws the belt into the ring and Card catches it. He holds it aloft and then lets Natasha fix it around his waist. Card motions for a mic to be thrown into the ring, and then, gasping for breath, lets out three deliberate, forced and gasped fragment of sentences.

Card: Chris Card. European Champion. Deal with it!

"King are you ok man?" Axis questions.

"Axis, I don't expect you to understand this, not really being a man and all.." King starts off.

"Hey!"

"But anyway.." King cuts him off. "I'm still sat in Bodokan Hall, the place is filled with young Japanese babes, and it's really getting to me. I need some relief. I think I'm going to have to hook up with one of these fine honourable young women after the show." King grins under a layer of sweat.

"King ... you.. you.." Axis give up.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, now it is time for the SJL Metal Main Event of the evening." Funyon booms over the respectful silence of the Japanese crowd.

"It will be a No Disqualification Handicap Tag Team Match!"

Polite applause rolls across the arena in classic Puro style.

"Oh yes! Let's get in on baby!" King yells, not even looking at the ring.

"Introducing first, from Birmingham, England, at two hundred and fifty four pounds ... DACE 'HORRORCORE' NIGHT!"

'Winds of Creation' booms into life as Dace steps out from behind the crowd to face the crowd, back once again in Japan, Walking slowly down the ramp, he smiles at the warm applause from the hates, that he knows is very good.

Sliding between the ropes, he stands in the ring, arms raised to the fans, before waiting everyone else to get into the ring.

"And his Tag Team Partner, from Honolulu, Hawaii, at two hundred twenty one pounds ... 'PUNK ROCKSTAR' Matt Myers.

'Over My Head' starts rocking out through the arena as Myers makes his way down to the ring, under the same applause. Waving to a few younger female fans in the front row, Myers bounds into the ring.

Shaking hands with Dace, the two exchange a few brief words on game plans before stepping back to wait for their opponents.

"And their opponents, first from Easton, Pennsylvania at two twenty one pounds ... THE INSANE LUCHADOR!"

'Wait and Bleed' rips into life, and bounds down towards the ring, still drawing applause from the well respecting crowd.

Jumping onto the apron, and diving between the ropes, Insane stars out at the crowd, before extending his hand out to Myers and Dace, who both shake it.

"His partner, from Anchorage, Alaska, in at two hundred and thirty one pounds ... CROWE!"

'Natural Born Chaos' starts tearing across the arena, Crowe steps out, smoking the ever present cigarette, before flicking it away.

Standing on the apron, Crowe spreads his arms into a crucifix, which still leads the crowd to clap in traditional style.

"And finally, his tag team partner, Hollywood, California, in at two hundred twenty pounds ... 'HOLLYWOOD' SPIKE JENKINS!"

'King of Your Own World' beats up, as Spike walks out into the arena, grinning as he gets applause, but still looking slightly unsure.

Stepping between the ropes, Spike is the last man in the ring, as they all face off against each other, with a worried looking referee in the centre.

"And now we have all five men in the ring. I don't think anyone his happy with their team. Is this even going to work as a tag match?" Axis questions.

"Quite frankly my dear Axis, I don't give a damn!" King quotes. "As long as we get some good action, or at least as long as I do." Still staring at the audience.

DING, DING, DING!

Twisting on his feet, Insane lashes his boot out into Spike's stomach and spikes his whole body backwards with a prefect Evenflow DDT.

"What the...!"

Even as Luchador is moving, Crowe boots Myers in the gut and hauls him up into the air, before taking a leap and dropping him to the mat with a Jumping Brainbuster.

As Crowe and Insane Luchador land their moves at the same time, Dace grabs Crowe from behind, driving a knee into his head, before hauling Crowe into the air with a Brainbuster of his own, and spiking Crowe down on his neck.

Rolling back to his feet, Dace turns around into a full on Superkick from Insane, sending him sprawling back to the mat.

Now Insane turns around as Myers springs back to his feet, turning his body into Insane's and snapping him neck first to the mat with a Diamond Cutter.

Forcing himself back up to his feet, Spike staggers around, as Myers looks for a roll. Going for the Catch 22, slapping on the Facelock, and hooking the leg, he pulls Spike over head.

Kicking his legs, Spike drops his feet behind Myers, pulling him back into an Inverted Facelock, and spinning over into a Cutter of this own with a Roll the Joint.

In perfect timing, Dace and Crowe come racing back up to their feet. Lunching off first, Dace raises his leg for a Yakuza Kick, but instead of hitting Spike, who is closer, dives past him and flattens Crowe with the Yakuza Kick.

Insane Luchador rolls to his feet, swinging a wild punch, that Spike ducks, and comes up, hooking his arm around Insane's head, before slamming him down onto his back with a Highlighter.

Wrenching Crowe off the mat, Dace spikes another knee into Crowe, this time his gut, and gut wrenches Crowe over his shoulder, before jackhammering the hapless Crowe down on his head with a Dark Star Driver.

"My God! As is the WF Clusterfuck wasn't enough, these five men just gave Japan a little mini showing." Calls Axis. "What the hell is going on?"

In scaring unity, Dace slides beside Insane, and Spike beside Myers. Dace pulls Insane's arm between his legs, and clamps his arms around Luchador's head, wrenching back into the Code Black. Spike steps over Mike's back, reaching under his chin, and pulling his head back over into a Dragon Sleeper while sitting on his back with the Silver Lining.

"Double submissions from Night and Jenkins. No one is the legal man, this match hasn't even gotten under way."

DING! DING! DING!

"This is No DQ? And the ref just threw the match out? What the damn hell is going on. Wait, don't answer that, I don't really care, this just means I can get to the post show press party much faster." Shouts King.

"King, again what are you talking about?" Axis questions. "I have no idea what is going on here at all. And only Dace and Spike are left standing, as the other three men get laid out, and Myers and Insane tap out to the Code Black and Silver Lining."

Standing in the middle of the ring, Dace Night and Spike Jenkins stare each other down under a hail of disapproving booing at the screw job the crowd just saw.

"Not again!" King moans. "Either fight or walk away. I have barley legal Japanese babes waiting for me in the back. Move it guys."

The crowd goes silent as Dace and Spike stand face to face, pressed nose to nose. Once again locked in a stare down.

They turn.

And just walk away from each other, leaving the ring, as the crowd looks on in disbelief.

Summary!

No promos on this show, but I'm totally marking out on all the promos that have turned up on the boards the last few days. Good stuff, guys.

Sean Atlas defeated Aecas and Omega Storm in a great debut match.

Mike Van Siclen defeated Christian Blackwell in... um, a match.

In an excellently close matchup, Chris Card becomes your new SJL European Champion!

Finally, I'm not going to mince words. JLCC is NOT happy about this main event. A three-man team no-showed entirely, and the other team was unable to communicate properly enough to put together a full match. I don't mean to get on a soapbox here, but the truth is that the JL just lost four members to promotion, which puts us in a period of transition. This is the time where we're watching carefully to see who's ready to take their places at World title level. Tonight's show turned out to be a tremendous disappointment, and there are going to be repercussions on Wrath.

Wrath card won't be up for at least a couple of hours, as I am taking a break.

That is all.
