Been awhile since I threw one of these up. What do you guys think of one of the most prolific and beloved jobbers of all time, Iron Mike Sharpe? Opinions, insights, memories. Revel in his glory.

Arghhh ahhhh grrrr ahgfjriikjrghhhhh . . .

He was great. On Supertape, he wrestled Tugboat and threw a hilarious looking dropkick where he got 8" off the ground and plainly landed on his back. Good stuff.

Of course, being a big hairy guy that screamed a lot would get him pushed to the moon today.

looked good jobbing to the Von Erich Brothers on ESPN back in the day, oh the good ol days when wrestling was on right when I got out of school on a daily basis.

At the time, I had always wondered why Canada's strongest man never won a match. I vaguely remember being somewhat ashamed of being Canadian because of that.

It been worse...Ya also had Dino Bravo....

Mike Sharpe...I rank him #3 all time on the Jobber hall of fame

#1-Barry Horowitz

#2-Chris Benoit

C'mon you can't put Benoit in the jobber hall of fame. He wins matches all the time, he was a world champion for crying out loud. I say you got to go with someone like Tim Horner or the Duke of Dorchester. The Gambler was a great jobber, because he had a real gimmick.

Chill...I was kidding...

REAL TOP 5 JOBBER HALL OF FAME

1. Horowitz

2. Sharpe

3. Brawler

4. Gambler

5. Jungle Jim (*I think that was also Sharpe)

If you mean Jungle Jim Steele, then that's a different guy who wrestles in Japan today under a name I can't remember. I got to throw Barry O in there too.

what was the deal with the wrist band gauntlet Mike always worn.

When Sharpe was brought into the WWF in the early 80's he was actually a top contender for the world title and was managed by Lou Albano. I met him after a Raw taping in NYC once. Hell of a nice guy.

The wrist gauntlet was just an affectation that was played off like Bob Orton's cast. He'd hit people with a forearm and Monsoon would claim that the wristband was illegal and then Ventura would say something about Sharpe having a weak wrist or keen fashion sense or something like that. It also played into his name a bit. A leatherwristband with sharp iron studs on it.
