Just the the FLUFF is Hogan's Problem?

Ok I just got some tapes from Josh Lilly (WHO EVERYONE HERE SHOULD ORDER FROM BECAUSE HE SENT MY TAPES SO QUICK SO FAST WITH GOOD QUALITY RECORDING AND A HE SENT ME CINDY CRAWFORD FUCK SCENE FROM HER MOVIE)

anyway I was watching starrcade 97 and it made me sick. The WHOLE SHOW was based around the heels stacking the deck and getting win after win - and the WCW's only hopes going into the final hour were Zbysko gettin nitro back and sting getting the title back. The show's storyline hinged on sting getting a clean win - what the FUCK is hogan's problem? I don't see why he would tell nick patrick to give him a normal count to totally destroy sting's momentum.

1) They'd been building sting up for 18 months to win - the fact hogan effectively beat him clean was spittle in the company's face.

2) On the following Thunder he kept driving the point into the ground in his promos that the count was INDEED NORMAL (slow) - when the announcers were desparately trying to pick up the pieces and shill what was left of the storyline. Again - blatantly doing what was wrong for the company.

He'd jobbed cleanly to Piper just a few months before - and it didn't hurt his drawing power...was he so insecure that his drawing power would be destroyed by one little clean job (on Starrcade where heels are SUPPOSED TO JOB)??? Did sting ever publically voice his disgust? Any other wcw wrestlers? what's the story here - 7 years later i'm disgusted all over again.

2003 called. It said 1997 is over.

Seriously, the fact that Hogan went over midway through the match - fast count or not - wasn't the brightest booking decision. It would have been much better for Bret just to pull Patrick out of the ring before the 3-count - then punch him out and take over.

i was actually watching the tape in Mark mode since sting is my fav face and hogan is my fav heel of all times - i was pissed off from a mark's standpoint....

i don't know the backstory on the screwjob or why hogan did what he did which is why i'm asking , i'm a relatively new "smark"

I too was pissed at the Starrcade ending. The match was 18 MONTHS in the making. WCW did an EXCELLENT job building up the match and began the show with an AWESOME video package (Sting in the Church ruins) that should have won an academy award. And they blew it! They blew it all! The mometuem, the heat Sting had been building all those months quickly vanished, and just 5 months later, he was just another member of the nWo Wolfpac. That pisses me off to this day as that could have been the pay-per-view that kept the WCW alive and maybe, just maybe, could have been around today.
