Guest wolverine Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 October Giant Series '97 Part 1 has the second best Misawa/Kobashi match on there, so you need to see that. The Kawada/Taue on the 4/7/96 TV is excellent. And since it's available, you might as well skip the clipped version of Benoit/Ohtani, and get the whole thing on NJ Classics, which Highspots.com sells.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 What about the rest of the matches...like the ones on tape 2 above, are they just good on paper or are they good in reality too?
Guest wolverine Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 I've never seen Part 2, but they don't look good on paper to me at all. In case you care (and it seems like some folks on here do), Meltzer gave Kawada/Takayama a DUD rating....
Guest Coffin Surfer Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 And since it's available, you might as well skip the clipped version of Benoit/Ohtani, and get the whole thing on NJ Classics, which Highspots.com sells. So that's out now, is that the tape that also has Black Tiger/Benoit 96 match unclipped? I searched over at High Spots, but I couldn't find it. Do you know what New Japan Classics tape it's on. I'm guessing a Junior History one.
Guest wolverine Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 I don't think Benoit/Tiger 6/96 will be out until a few months from now. But here's the link to the tape with Benoit/Ohtani: http://www.highspots.com/www/stores_app/Br...id=239&Videos=1
Guest Grenouille Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 The match is on the tape with episodes 813, 814 and 815.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 J*Crown 96 looks like it has some nice matches. Anything really memorable from there?
Guest wolverine Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Yes, Ultimo vs. Ohtani is one of the best Junior matches ever. The rest is pretty forgettable though.
