October Giant Series '97 Part 1 has the second best Misawa/Kobashi match on there, so you need to see that. The Kawada/Taue on the 4/7/96 TV is excellent. And since it's available, you might as well skip the clipped version of Benoit/Ohtani, and get the whole thing on NJ Classics, which Highspots.com sells.

What about the rest of the matches...like the ones on tape 2 above, are they just good on paper or are they good in reality too?

I've never seen Part 2, but they don't look good on paper to me at all.

In case you care (and it seems like some folks on here do), Meltzer gave Kawada/Takayama a DUD rating....

So that's out now, is that the tape that also has Black Tiger/Benoit 96 match unclipped? I searched over at High Spots, but I couldn't find it. Do you know what New Japan Classics tape it's on. I'm guessing a Junior History one.

J*Crown 96 looks like it has some nice matches. Anything really memorable from there?

Yes, Ultimo vs. Ohtani is one of the best Junior matches ever. The rest is pretty forgettable though.
