Guest Downhome Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 You know, how would I take that one file and make it so that when I put it on a CD, I can jump from song to song or the such, without a break in the performance? Is there a program in which you can put the file, and it will seperate it for you in places where the sound is very low or something? I'd love to download a few files I just found, but I don't want to untill I know how to make it be in seperate tracks, without breaking up the flow of the performance. I also want to know how to take an entire album download, and split it up into tracks also. Thanks guys, this is appriciated! Sincerely, ...Downhome...

Just choose that option and you should be straight. As for d/ling an entire album and splitting it up...well, you'd have to sit there for 20 minutes with a .wav editor, and it's not really worth the time as long as you can grab the individual files from reliable sources.

Well, I agree it would be much eaiser to download song by song, but that really isn't an option for some of what I have here I want. I found on WinMX where I can download like, bootleg performances, entire box sets, Time Life music sets, and the such, and it would be very hard or impossible to get these things track by track. In theory, what could I use to take one very long .mp3, and seperate it into tracks? Thanks for the help Jubuki, this is very much appriciated.

Guest Lethargic Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 The only way I know of that would make that possible would be to convert the MP3 to wav and use a wav editor to cut the large track into several small tracks. I've never heard of a CD burner or anything like that that would do it for you. I've never worried about it. My life stuff is just one track. It'd be very time consuming to have to edit all that by hand.

You can search for it on any engine and find the shareware version, and it's generally a pretty easy thing to either get a crack of or a full version off Kazaa or somesuch. It's really easy Mp3 audio mixer that lets you import files, make simple cuts, and save the individual bits as Mp3s. Prince has one album that's 1 track, 45 minutes, but with 9 different songs. I threw it into Acoustica, used the razor tool a bit, and had individual MP3s of each song in 10 minutes.
