Guest packwingfn Report post Posted February 7, 2003 Have you seen the drawings for them? Their so bad...I loved the orgiinals too but they have ruined it They BETTER have the original theme song at least!
Guest Gathering Moss Report post Posted February 7, 2003 If this show doesn't have Don Turtelli, the slickest mofo in all the land, then it isn't worth NOTHING!
Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted February 7, 2003 Well, the old version of the TMNT was awesome. I remember they gave it on USA, in the Action Power Hour, at 7:00AM. I loved it. If they kill the TMNT cartoon.............(loads up shotgun) I still remember when TMNT crossed over to the Power Rangers show. That was a great TMNT moment. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 8, 2003 I'm interested in the new show since it's supposed to follow the comic book more than the original TV series.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted February 8, 2003 The comic would be too mature for a show aimed at kids. It might be closer to it than the original cartoon, but I can't see it being all that much like the comic.

Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted February 8, 2003 OMG GOD THAT THEME SUCKS!!! I downloaded the MP3 first and thought the same thing, but I saw the opening a few days later and it fits well. But whatever - kids will be going nuts over TMNT again, that's so great
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted February 8, 2003 This, added with a new Ghostbusters comic book... ...you best believe I'm happy... And, actually, there was a short-lived NBC TMNT that TOTALLY sucked. It added a new character, and made the Turtles get these super power-ups that you'd expect from a dying piece-of-shit franchise, NOT the TMNT. As long as this toon isn't like the NBC Toon, or the live-action "Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation"...I'm watching.
Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted February 8, 2003 The comic book was very violent at times when compared to the watered down cartoon version. The new theme song sucks the big one too. The old theme song was the pwnage.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Less than 2 hours til it starts!!!
Guest McLeary Report post Posted February 8, 2003 There was never an NBC toon(NBC had already abandoned toons completely in favor of the TNBC lineup), you're just thinking of the last awful season of the show on CBS, where they changed the look of the show in the second to last season, and it was a bit darker and what not, but then the next season, the animation had gotten totally sloppy and the storyline was a dual-ripoff between "Spiderman: TAS- Season 2: Neogenic Nightmare" and "V", with a new lead villain, an alien named Dreg that fooled the rest of the world (but not the TMNT)into thinking he was a good guy(c'mon people, the guy's name is fucking "Dreg"), and then they had that Carlos Newton- looking sidekick, Carter, who was supposed to be either black or Native American(or maybe both or neither, I couldn't really tell), they all turned into Incredible Hulks because they're mutation was out-of-wack. Ugh. It was the last season, but it was the same show. I would like to forget that the Next Mutation ever happened, thank-you. Anyway, if Peter Laird honestly likes the new show, I know I will. I just hope if we ever see turtles in live action again, it's not some quasi-Dinotopia CGI Hallmark shit, but I get the idea that anything TMNT is gonna have to be cleared 100% by PL or it won't happen. (I am a huuuuge TMNT mark, BTW. Two comic boxes in my basement: one TMNT, one everything else.)
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted February 8, 2003 I don't like the art very much.

Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted February 8, 2003 "BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" What was that sh*t I just listened to? "It's a shell of a town" "There's no one better ... watch out for Shredder" My ears were in pain when listening to this...

Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted February 8, 2003 It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. From the quick clips I've seen, Shredder looks cool.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Come on, couldn't someone have at least come up with something original than re-hashing Baxter Stockman's rat catching robots? The scene with Splinter and the "shell cell" was pretty funny though "what button do I press to answer this thing?"
Guest Madmartigan21 Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Come on, couldn't someone have at least come up with something original than re-hashing Baxter Stockman's rat catching robots? The scene with Splinter and the "shell cell" was pretty funny though "what button do I press to answer this thing?" I like the idea. It DOES look like they're following the comic a lot closer. The scenes from next week showed a BLACK Baxter Stockman, like he was in the comic. It also appears as though April is working for him and NOT a reporter just like the comic. Either that or she IS an undercover reporter. The turtles over the top personalities from the original cartoon seem to be toned down as well, again more like the comics, and again good to see. I enjoyed this first episode immensely. If this quality keeps up, this will be the first cartoon that I watch on a regular basis since "Gargoyles", and "Spider-Man"(mid-nineties version). Guest SP-1 Report post Posted February 8, 2003 the fights were a step up from the old cartoon. I just wish the animation was a little smoother. Overall I liked this new incarnation today.
Guest McLeary Report post Posted February 8, 2003 I knew they were doing that live-action thing, but there's a big difference between "pre-production" nd already being filmed. Superman's in pre-production, technically. I hope it doesn't happen. I want a theatircal release. The new show is the best TMNT project (outside of comics, shitty Image books notwithstanding) since the first movie. It could be better, but fuck it, it's a cartoon... Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted February 8, 2003 The carteoon was great. I never read the comics, but if that is what the show is based on, the new generation of TMNT fans will love it, as well as the old generation.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Took me a little while to get used to the new style, but I warmed up to it very quickly. Is it going to be a daily show or just weekends? Honestly, I find myself not being able to wait for the next episode.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Dammit, now I can't sleep in on Saturday mornings anymore! I feel like I'm in second grade again. The shell cell bit was pretty funny, as was the bit where Rafael pushes Mikey down the hole to stop him from saying his catchphrase. The action felt a lot more Dragon Ball-ish than the original. The cons do outweigh the pros in my opinion, but overall it's a very enjoyable half hour show.
