Guest starvenger Report post Posted February 7, 2003 I'm partial to the current sweaters of the NHL's Original Six - Rangers excepted. Not surprisingly they've gone through the least number of changes, with the Leafs probably having the most (most notably after Harold Ballard introduced the current Leaf logo as a cost-saving measure, or so the story goes). Others: - The Calgary Hitmen jersey is a fun one. Real men wear pink. Or at least that's what the players are forced to say... - The New York Islanders "hybrid" jersey - basically the Fisherman jersey with the old logo. - Quebec Nordiques. - Canada's Sydney 2000 Podium jerseys - all the other nations wore tracksuits and stuff. Canada wore hockey-style jerseys. - Oakland Raiders silver and black - Houston Texans. Too bad the team sucks...

Guest RepoMan Report post Posted February 7, 2003 The Canadians road jerseys are the best of the best. Any of the original six is great. I think the Cubs how uni's the best in baseball, and I'm the only one who seems to like the old-school Astros.

Hell no, those are great. The Washington Bullets jersey's from the 70's. The old LA Kings Purple and Yellow jersey's. Rock on Marcell Dione The Denver Nuggets from the 80's. Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted February 8, 2003 I concur with Spiff. The Chargers' throwbacks owned. A powder blue jersey is almost always a great jersey. I don't follow the NHL, so tell me: When did the L.A. Kings start using the Sacramento Kings' color scheme instead of the black and white?
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted February 8, 2003 I concur with Spiff. The Chargers' throwbacks owned. A powder blue jersey is almost always a great jersey. I don't follow the NHL, so tell me: When did the L.A. Kings start using the Sacramento Kings' color scheme instead of the black and white? I third the motion on the Charger throwbacks. They should switch back to wearing those, the way the Jets switched back to an updated version of their original uniforms. I'n not an NHL fan, but I do live in the LA area, and I believe the Kings changed jerseys a couple years ago. I prefer the old ones myself. Best uniforms (in no particular order): NFL: - Chargers (throwback powder blue) - NY Jets (current) - New England Patriots (current and 1994-2000 unis) - Denver Broncos (current) - St. Louis (current and blue/yellow uniforms) - Jacksonville (w/ black/dark green pants) NBA: - Seattle (green jerseys) - Sacramento (black/white scheme) - LA Clippers (blue/white current) MLB: - Dodgers - Houston (gray away unis/home white w/ futuristic Houston logo) - Chicago Cubs College football: - UCLA - Oregon - Washington State - BYU - Notre Dame

Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted February 9, 2003 Ah, the Quebec Nordiques logo, that enigmatic thing which you see in my avatar. I have no fucking clue what it is, and nobody else seems to. Possibilities: An igloo, representing the north An "n" with a hockey stick An elephant A cult symbol Yeah, along with the Oilers and Chargers, real men wear powder blue. Guest starvenger Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Well what exactly is a Nordique? Maybe that will help solve the mystery. Logically, it looks like an igloo, but I'm guessing elephant. OK, I've found a site with Nordiques information. Check it out here. According to the site, they were named the Nordiques because there were no WHA teams further north. Nord = north, so it makes some sense, I guess...

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Old school Astros rainbow unis! OK yes many think they were hideous but I used to love seeing Mike Scott or Nolan Ryan up on the mound looking scary as hell with his rainbow gut and orange cap. The modern ones are nice, but the club apparently decided to fall into the retro look (lettering, pinstripes). Like LaParka, I like the Sunday alternates (red jerseys). Also, it's going to be interesting what the Rockets new uniforms are going to look like when they move into their new house. Supposedly they hired the woman who did the costumes for J Lo's The Cell, so I'm a bit hesitant....
