Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Also, it's going to be interesting what the Rockets new uniforms are going to look like when they move into their new house. Supposedly they hired the woman who did the costumes for J Lo's The Cell, so I'm a bit hesitant.... Well they had some bizarre costumes in that...so a jersey designed by that person could be vedy interesting. I'd love to see jerseys designed by Clive Barker or H.R. Giger. Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted February 16, 2003 Isn't Edmonton further north than Quebec City though? Or were the Oilers not around for the first WHA season? By the way I understand what the Warriors jersey is, I just don't understand what's so great about it.
Guest PORNFAQ Report post Posted February 21, 2003 You see, LeBron. I actually had to pay for this Jersey. And that's a good thing? You probably don't even know who Wes Unseld is or ever saw him play.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I agree with PORNFAQ. I don't understand the huge obsession with retro jerseys. I sell the things at work, and it's mind-boggling that people will buy an old Padres jersey, a rainbow Astros jersey and red Texas Rangers jersey, spending almost $450 on THREE jerseys! WTF? Guest PORNFAQ Report post Posted February 22, 2003 Believe me, I'm all about status symbols and buy them in mass amounts. I just don't understand why someone would take a dig at LeBron James' stupid mistake when they probably spent their LAST $450 to buy a so-called "status symbol" while in less than a year, LeBron will be able to buy and sell the poster who was bragging. Real smart to make fun of a future millionaire while the only thing you have of value is an old overpriced Washington Bullets jersey. Who's really stupid? The only thing worse would be to spend your last money to buy an authentic LeBron jersey when they hit the market AND then try to make fun of him.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 22, 2003 I like the retro jersey's. They have certain uniqueness that today's jersey's don't have. That doesn't mean I'd fork over $350 dollars, but if someone gave me one I'd take it.

Then you would have to find 2 Slammy Awards... We only sell the Old School Nuggets teeshirts, no jerseys...yet...

Guest gthureson Report post Posted March 1, 2003 Isn't Edmonton further north than Quebec City though? Or were the Oilers not around for the first WHA season? Wish I knew. That sounds about right though... They were the Alberta Oilers their first season, I believe. Wild Bill Hunter, the Oilers founder, was one of the guys who got the WHA off the ground, so I think the Oilers were there from the beginning.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted March 3, 2003 I'm partial to the current sweaters of the NHL's Original Six - Rangers excepted. Not surprisingly they've gone through the least number of changes, with the Leafs probably having the most (most notably after Harold Ballard introduced the current Leaf logo as a cost-saving measure, or so the story goes). Others: - The Calgary Hitmen jersey is a fun one. Real men wear pink. Or at least that's what the players are forced to say... - The New York Islanders "hybrid" jersey - basically the Fisherman jersey with the old logo. - Quebec Nordiques. - Canada's Sydney 2000 Podium jerseys - all the other nations wore tracksuits and stuff. Canada wore hockey-style jerseys. - Oakland Raiders silver and black - Houston Texans. Too bad the team sucks... There is no way you can say the Rangers have bad uniforms, they are probably the second best out of the original six first is the Canadiens,I know that I am partial because I am a die hard Rangers fan but I still do not think that they have bad uniforms. Thanks.

Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted March 5, 2003 I'll go competely off the board and say the NHL refs have the best sweaters. Having the official's name on the back like they did was cool. I think they changed it now though. Oh by the way, go back to one referee.

Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Tradition? NHL? From 1991-92 to 2000-01, not counting the strike year, the league lineup was never the same from year to year. And let's not even get started on the third jerseys. By the way, the Rangers also uphold the tradition of being really shitty.
