Guest bob_barron Report post Posted February 7, 2003 As someone majoring in journalism- grammar and spelling are very very important. We fail if we make one mistake. If I notice a spelling mistake after I post- I will edit it. There are some words I can just NOT spell and I just leave those alone

LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Maybe it's my laid back nature, but we're here to have fun.......why complain about our grammar? When I'm typing a long post I don't want to worry about grammar, just getting my point across. I completely misuse the dots (....) in all my posts, but no one has complained. Guest treble charged Report post Posted February 8, 2003 Well, you can say that, but then you have somone like the Sayian Prince (or whatever his name was/is) who uses no grammar AT ALL. I don't think people should worry aboutiny spelling and/or grammar mistakes, but good grammar/spelling is still something that people should practice. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2003 All I ask posters to do is break it up into paragraphs so it's easier to read. Nothing is worse than one long paragraph with no breaks.

Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted February 8, 2003 "HA! That's amusing. I won't even bother editing that one, just to show the irony in it. Dames" This is why I never mention other people's speling or grammer mistakes. Everybody makes them. Heck, wire copy that is being written when a story is breaking always has mistakes in them. It's because of the up-to-the-minute hurry to get the info out. Now textbooks on the other hand...

Guest DrTom Report post Posted February 9, 2003 I am offended by CWM's poor usage of grammar and spelling mistakes. I just can't resist. That sentence, as written, means that CWM uses both grammar AND spelling mistakes poorly. I'm not sure how someone can use spelling mistakes poorly, but there is apparently someone who can do just that. "I am offended by CWM's spelling mistakes and poor grammar usage" would have been better. Ok, I'll turn off the English degree again.
