Paypal fraud

I READ THIS ON THE CRAZY MAX BOARD AND THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE SEEN BY THE SMARKSBOARD USERS AS WELL.

I CANNOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS POST AS IT IS NOT ME WHO POSTED IT.I,M JUST PUTTING IT ON HERE TO NOTIFY ANYONE WHO MAY DEAL WITH PAYPAL.I HAVE ALSO SENT AN E-MAIL TO TABE NOTIFYING HIM OF WHAT I HAVE DONE.

Hey guys, wanted to shout out a heads-up to anyone with a Paypal account. I just got an e-mail from "[email protected]" (with no name listed) that purported to be from Paypal, claiming I had an error in my account info. The link in the e-mail is a fake one (you can tell by the http instead of https in front of the URL) and it will take any login info before requesting credit card info.

 

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM (fortunately, I caught it before giving away any info). I have reported this to Paypal and suggest you do the same if you get an e-mail like this.

Thanks for the heads-up Tabe. I'll be on the lookout for it, and I'm sure many others who use PayPal frequently will look out for it now as well.
