Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 According to this week's episode of Velocity, it's "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence (available on their CD "Fallen" available 3/4 and on the Daredevil Soundtrack). It's also the 1st PPV theme to be sung by a female vocalist. Any thoughts on it, or what you would have picked?
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 How do you mean, AS?
Guest BifEverchad Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 Does this warrant its own thread?
Guest HartFan86 Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 They used this for TE 3's Season Finale.....it's alright, I've had it downloaded for about a week. They probably could of chosen something better.
cawthon777 Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 DAMNIT! I was pushing for "Love is a Battlefield" by Pat Benetar
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 Evanescense = Linkin Park with a chick and Christian undertones So, henceforth, Evanescense = teh sUx0r I'm still waiting for these fuckheads to use a Black Label Society tune (considering that Zakk Wylde is, ya know, a REALLY GOOD FUCKING FRIEND of The Hardy Boyz AND Undertaker). And I also pray they one day will realize that Shadows Fall is greatness...but alas, they are the next Metallica, so that means 5 more years of obscurity while setting the metal world ablaze with a fire of sheer metal energy. Damn...that last sentence kinda sounded like a Manowar lyric...

Guest BifEverchad Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 Black Label Society? hmm.... *intrigued* what song(s) should I DL to try them out?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 Bif, if there was ever a person to ask about BLS here at TSM, it's...ME. Society Dweller since 2000, and owner of all the BLS albums put out so far (I plan on buying the forthcoming The Blessed Hellride this year, too). Download: "Counterfeit God" (the video is ultra-cheeseriffic, and has MARKY MARK~! in full Rock Star wig) "Demise Of Sanity" (try to tell me this wouldn't be a killer theme) "Another Spoke In The Wheel" "Just Killing Time" "13 Years Of Grief" "Bored To Tears" "Life/Birth/Blood/Doom" "Bleed For Me" "All For You" "America The Beautiful" (acoustic solo done by Zakk F'N Wylde that is really quite great) EDIT: Oh, but be forewarned. Zakk overuses pinch harmonics (they'll sound like a laser beam, or like a harmonic on a guitar being bent), and his vocals are more like him mumbling lyrics. His songs are fucking great, and his lyrics are equally good, but his vocals...dunno. They fit the mood of the band, though.
Guest raptor Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 I think it's a very good theme song for a PPV. It has a nice epic feel that will go along well with the final PPV rundown package.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 Oh, I have no doubt that the video package will be pretty damn good, but the song itself is just your average run-of-the-mill LiNSYNC Park wannabe tune.
Guest BifEverchad Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 thanks for the help Corey, much appreciated my good man!
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 ... His songs are fucking great, and his lyrics are equally good, but his vocals...dunno. I believe the optimum word you're looking for is "suck." He can rip a face off and sew it back on with the riffs, but the vocals are just plain bad. You're also dead on with beating the false harmonic horse. Good songs, but the whole "Sport BLS colors at our shows" schtick is pretty asinine. That's no better than saying "Buy my shirt."
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Yeah, but after a while, Zakk's vocals definitely grow on ya. Well, they did for me, anyways. And live? Oh boy...BLS is in my Top 10 bands for best live performances. Saw them at Locobazooka '02: United We Rock (when it came HOME to Massachusetts), and they kicked more ass live than ANY other band (including Hatebreed and Disturbed) there. Not my fault if people are too fucking stupid to sing along to the chorus of "Demise Of Sanity" (which not only is extremely catchy, yet simple-as-fuck to play {on guitar, bass, AND drums}).
