Your friend left out the enormous riot following the corino/homicide match. a bunch of idiots, who were taking things a bit too seriously, were yelling at corino's nameless group throughout the match (and the group was yelling right back) so when the match ended, they all hopped the rail, and since there were a few too many guys for the atlas guys to handle, the entire fucking locker room (except the really small guys) ran out and kicked the shit out of them.

also, Carnage Crew actually lost via DQ for whacking one of rudy's guys with a hubcap mid-asai-moonsault. then they got attacked by the Christopher Street Connection.

what exactly's the story behind this riot? the roh website refers to the guys who hopped the rail as homicide's posse, which obviously makes it sound like an angle, then they say buy the video and make up your own mind about what happened. sounds like a bullshit 'worked shoot' to sell their videos (double cassette featuring the entire unedited riot to boot!). i'm getting really disillusioned with roh recently, for a while getting their latest show was the most exciting wrestling related experience of the month, now they really feel as if they've lost the momentum they were building. this 'riot' thing just sounds so cheap and bush league. unless it was real, obviously, in which case, uh filming it and selling the tape based on it's merits would make me never watch the promotion again. so either way, sort yourself out roh cause you're turning what was once a great fledgling fed into an unmitigated pile of shit.

EDIT: here's the more detailed results from rohwrestling.com

Ring Of Honor would like to thank the 700 fans in attendance at the Elk's Lodge in Queens, NY at the 2/8/02 first anniversary show. It was truly a memorable night for chaos and great matches. The entire event will be sold as a double tape set for $29.95. You will see the entire night of action and three, yes three, unedited versions of the much talked about riot. All other tape and DVD productions will be stopped so that the anniversary event can go into immediate production for a release in about three weeks.

The opening match saw EZ Money win a four-way by pinning Chad Collyer that also included Colt Cabana and Michael Shane. This win immediately established Money as someone poised to climb the rankings.

Rudy Boy Gonzalez brought his top students from the Texas Wrestling Academy Hotstuff Hernandez, Don Juan & Fast Eddie to beat The Carnage Crew of Loc, Devito & Masada by DQ when The Carnage Crew used their hubcaps. With his students down, Gonzalez tried to make save only to get beat down by The CC. YMCA then hit and The Christopher Street Connection of Mase and the returning Buff-E cleaned house on The Carnage Crew to a huge ovation.

The feud between Mark and Jay Briscoe ended in an epic battle that Jay captured after three consecutive Jay-drillers. This one rivaled their match at "Honor Invades Boston." Jay and Mark hugged after the match and are now set to become a tag team.

Steve Corino defeated Homicide with the cobra sleeper after Homicide was injured missing a suicide dive to the floor. Before the match, Corino stated that he would not be told what to do and that he would call his own shots because he is a huge superstar. Corino, already with Simply Luscious and Samoa Joe, introduced Michael Shane as the new member of his group. Corino then shocked ROH management by bringing CW Anderson back as a member of his group. Corino then said they have one spot left and they were eyeing Low Ki.

After the match, Corino tried to end Homicide's career by putting the cobra sleeper back on "The Notorious 187." Homicide's posse tried to jump the guardrail, but were met by Corino's group. Things started getting out of control and the locker room emptied in a huge riot. We will let you judge this for yourself.

The next scheduled match was supposed to be The Outkast Killahs vs. Dunn & Marcos, but CW Anderson came to the ring and attacked all four. He then stated that he wanted a match and issued an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. This brought out CM Punk, who defeated Anderson in an unscheduled match. Punk's original opponent, Reckless Youth, who was supposed to debut under the name "The Technician" Tom Carter, no showed without contacting the promotion so we don't know why he didn't make it.

American Dragon Bryan Danielson defeated Samoa Joe in a brutal strong style match. This is sure to put Danielson near the top of ROH's top five rankings, which will be out on Monday.

In a bout that ended with fans chanting "Match Of The Year!" Paul London won a three-way over AJ Styles and Low Ki to earn a title shot against Xavier. Words can't describe this one. Xavier jumped London after the match and said he would get his title shot now.

Xavier defeated London in a heated contest. Even though London lost, he left Queens as perhaps the most popular athlete in ROH having gained the respect of the fans with two excellent bouts that totaled around 37 minutes. Alexis Laree and Allison Danger got involved in this one. At the end of the show backstage, AJ Styles met with London and suggested they form a tag team to get the tag team titles away from The Prophecy. London agreed and the new duo could get a title shot on 3/15 in Cambridge, MA.

The night was capped off by an insane tag team scramble match. The team of Da Hit Squad, SAT & Divine Storm defeated Special K. Mikey Whipwreck came out as the surprise partner of the winning team, but turned on them halfway through the match. Hopefully we can find out why when Mikey returns to ROH in the future.

Thank you to everyone who has supported ROH over the past year to bring us to our first birthday. Just wait and see what we have for you over the next year!!!

The riot seemed real enough to me. I guess it was possible the ones who initiated it were plants. After the riot ended, Homicide started yelling at the referee who was calling the match and pointing the direction where the guys were sitting. He eventually rushed the Ref and had to get held back by DHS and Low Ki.

The show itself was actually very good. The high point of the night had to be the three-way between London, Styles and Low Ki. That one is a sure candidate of the MOTY. The low point of the night was the Scramble match.

Actually that whole "riot" was all planned out. The guys that hopped the rail are from L.I.W.F (The Doghouse) which is a wrestling school and Homicide is their trainer. So all the guys that jumped the rail were Homicide's students.

However, some of the guys in the back weren't told that this was all planned and some started to legitimately stiffing the Doghouse boys. I guess Gabe wanted to make the situation look as real as possible, who knows.

Hopefully we can find out why when Mikey returns to ROH in the future.

Darn tootin.

Is anyone else very not impressed with Xaiver as champ. I mean he's a good talent and all. But ROH is less then a year as a promotion, shouldn't they have the title on a stronger name?

Yea- my friend told me about the riot after I posted the results.

He told me it was an angle as well- I think it was a bunch of USA Pro guys.

I agree with you Youth N Asia, I think the RoH title should be on A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels, or Low Ki. Paul London will probably wind up being the guy who finally beats Xavier for the title, which will be cool.

The purpose of having Xavier as champ is to look forward to a champ getting his ass whipped. You might cry over AJ or Lo-Ki getting beat up and beat down; not Xavier, not even in heel-worshipping NYC. From what I saw he was not as talented physically (not to say he is slag; about ten years ago he would be among the top thirty in the world), but he does brings heat to a match, and mastered the art of putting the other guy over just as well as anyone else.

I was there at the Elks. From what I can tell, Deputy, they are not losing momentum one bit. They are the best new wrestling organization since OMEGA. All of the angles were wrestling-related, so that's OK.

Christopher Street Connection...they were funny. And aside from a few, they did get a good ovation.

Now who is this guy London and why he is so hyped? He looked so vanilla to start. But did he prove that he can hang with Styles and Lo-Ki or what? I wouldn't call it MOTY yet; the match did lack ring psychology that the smarks so loved. But hey they did pull out everything from the gym bag.

Looks like the Kids from Webster Hall are Mikey's boys. Is that right? Looks like in that last match they were trying everything to see what would pop the crowd. The kids did a good job selling and such. Yeah yeah a few blown spots, but so what? Who wouldn't be one of those kids just having fun?
