Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 10, 2003 Say what you want, but AOTC does not belong here over things like Rollerball and Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever.
Guest BorneAgain Report post Posted February 10, 2003 I admit AOTC wasn't great, but I'd hardly call it one of the worst films of the year. Dissapointing sure, but not the worst.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Report post Posted February 10, 2003 I hope Tom Green wins so he can show up at the awards, like last year! BTW: Who came up with all the puns on the AOTC name?
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted February 10, 2003 They just have it in for Tom Green. I wonder if he'll show up again this year?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 10, 2003 They just have it in for Tom Green. I wonder if he'll show up again this year? I don't think he'll win. Christenson has Worst Supporting Actor pretty much locked up.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted February 10, 2003 Maybe it's just me, but the Razzies seems to be becoming about as redundant as the Oscars...
Guest JangoFett4Hire Report post Posted February 10, 2003 if Christansen was the supporting actor, who was the lead in AOTC? McGregor? Oz??
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 10, 2003 What's with the Mr Deeds hate? Sure, it's not a classic...but it's one of Sandler's least offensive films. And if Ryder didn't go on her stealing spree I doubt she'd even be on the list. These people just seem to go about hating certain people and not letting up. And it's pretty stupid when they nominate an actor and then list every movie he did that year. Should be up for one shitty job, not 3 or 4. And where was Ecks vs Sever? Extreme Ops? Guest DrTom Report post Posted February 10, 2003 I don't think Christiansen was that bad; it's just that the part of Anakin sucked and was very poorly-written. He's a completely unlikeable character with awful dialog, and I doubt any actor would win a lot of acclaim in such a dismal role.

He's a completely unlikeable character with awful dialog, and I doubt any actor would win a lot of acclaim in such a dismal role. I don't think he was that bad either, but he's got momentum against him for this award. Portman was worse than him. Just compare how Christensen looks when he's with her, versus when he's on screen with McGregor. Portman is terrible in the entire film, even when she is with a good actor like McDiarmid or Lee. McGregor is probably the lead. He is the focus of the main plotline. Anakin is on a side quest for most of the film.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted February 10, 2003 I'd put Kevin Donovan in the worst director category for The Tuxedo since he did an awful job with some good talent.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 10, 2003 Maybe it's just me, but the Razzies seems to be becoming about as redundant as the Oscars... It's not just you. I don't think AotC is anywhere near deserving to be nominated for a Razzie. Was A Phantom Menance nominated for any Razzies.

Guest Mik at Cornell Report post Posted February 10, 2003 Fuck Attack of the Clones. Owen Wilson does not deserve to be nominated for a Razzie EVER, in any category. Yeah, I Spy wasn't the greatest movie, but it wasn't because of anything but the script, especially not Owen. How annoying. Also, I was dragged to see Maid in Manhatten and I didn't think J. Lo was Razzie award material. I thought she actually did a decent job. Oh well.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted February 10, 2003 Nothing related to Death To Smoochy should be listed. That movie was fucking great, and I laughed my ass off on more than one occasion. And when I mean nothing, I mean NOTHING. Robin Williams' performance in the movie was magnificent. Who else could have pulled it off that over-the-top? Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted February 10, 2003 The Razzies are turning into the Oscars as far as going with things that will get them mainstream buzz and having their own private little agendas. If you go back and look up winners until the mid-nineties they pretty much awarded things that got universal bad reviews and horrible box office. But movies like Attack of the Clones and Mr. Deeds did great box office and had mostly fair to middling reviews. It's that the people picking the Razzies personally didn't like these movies and knew that picking on them would get them notice.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted February 10, 2003 Those nominations are bullshit, I'll say it. Fuck the Razzies, they're no better than those worst dressed lists.
Guest What? Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Winona Ryder = Greater than everybody If the Razzies ever mention her again, I will kill...I will go Boulala style, man.....
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Bleh. The Razzies are just trying to justify their existence now, so they're going after mainstream targets. See, no one will care about the Razzies if they give them for movies/actors that completely suck, because no one will have watched that movie. So they're throwing in the big names. It's all about the publicity.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted February 11, 2003 The nominations pretty much confirms that none of these judges watched or caught wind of Biker Boyz. Now THAT was utter crap.

Guest Mole Report post Posted February 11, 2003 AotC doesn't deserve to be up there at all.
Guest spiny norman Report post Posted February 11, 2003 And all the nominations to Madonna. HAWHAWHAW, there's a difficult target. Seriously, Die Another Day? That role was *nothing*! It was a nothing role, no great actor would have done any better. It's so infantile the way the media just goes on and on and on about how terrible she is, Desperately Seeking Susan is a good movie. They should just move on, rather than slam her for the sake of it being her.

Guest Mikey2Dope Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I didn't like Attack of the Clones but no way it should be up there in place of The Master of Disguise,XXX,The Sweetest Thing or FearDotCom. And Robin Williams was an absoloute fuckin' blast in Death To Smoochy.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted February 11, 2003 "It's a DICK! A COCK AND BALLS!!!" Any movie with that line deserves an Oscar, not a Razzie.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 11, 2003 The nominations pretty much confirms that none of these judges watched or caught wind of Biker Boyz. Now THAT was utter crap. Um yeah...but see the problem is that it's a movie from this year and not from the voting time frame for this year's awards.
Guest fazzle Report post Posted February 11, 2003 What the hell? It's like the same 6 movies nominated over and over again. How boring.
Guest Grand Slam Report post Posted February 11, 2003 The Razzies, which used to be fun, have become as much bullshit as the Oscars and Golden Globes and SAG awards. None of them nominate films that deserve it, they nominate films that will cause a "buzz" and get them talked about. Do you think anyone would give a flying shit about the Razzies if they didn't mention Madonna and AOTC over and over (and over and over...)? No, they would be ignored. The Razzies have fallen victim to the same cynical "If I hate it then I am cool" mentality that has taken over both the IWC and the Internet at large. "Nothing popular can be good because I am better than the rabble that likes this stuff." As part of the "Rabble" that is able to enjoy good movies at face value even if they are popular, I say a hearty "Fuck you" to all the self-rightous bastards at the Razzies who try to suck all of the enjoyment out of the movies for us. ... That having been said... Pluto Nash deserves everything it is getting.
