Guest bravesfan Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 NEW YORK (Feb. 10) - Dude! The actor who gained fame and a cult following as the slacker ``Steven'' in commercials for Dell computers was arrested buying a small bag of marijuana, police said. Benjamin Curtis, a 22-year-old New York University drama student, awaited arraignment Monday on a misdemeanor drug possession charge. Police said he was arrested Sunday night on the Lower East Side after officers on a drug detail spotted him buying a small bag of marijuana from Omar Mendez, 19. Mendez faces drug sale and possession charges. Curtis' agent, Bonnie Shumofsky, had no immediate comment on the arrest. Curtis' portrayal of a surfer type who proclaims, ``Dude, yer gettin' a Dell!'' drove up computer sales and spawned T-shirts, caps, and backpacks, along with Web sites and online fan clubs.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 I heard this on the radio a few hours ago. Why does this not suprise me at all? This guy looked like a pothead from day one. Dude, you're going to lose your Dell deal.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 It's only a misdemeanor. He's getting probation.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 This guy is an absolute tool. He's in a few classes with one of my friends at Tisch. He has his own business card and hands it out to girls. I chuckle at this.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 He has an online fanclub? What the FUCK is wrong with people these days?
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Online fanclub my ass. People really do like whatever they're told to like. I'm surprised sometimes at just how stupid the average person is.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 dude, i'm getting a dimebag!!! dude, you're a narc!!!
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 "Dude, you're going to lose your Dell deal." He already did. Pity. Those commercials were growing on me. Then again, so does cancer...
Guest phoenixrising Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Steve's commercials started growing on me after I was subjected to the sucktitude that is The Dell Interns. Apparently business cards weren't the only thing Steve was handing out lately... "Dude, you're on probation!"
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 "Dude, don't drop the soap" Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 lol -- how about "Dude, you're tossing the salad?" Phoenix, you're right -- those intern comms. are HORRIBLE!...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Eh, he won't be getting into any real trouble here. A dimebag? Few months on probation, tops.
Guest treble charged Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 He had charges dropped, provided he stays out of trouble for a year.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 OK -- time to clear the air, again. Yes, it was a measly pot charge. Yes, we knew he was going to get a slap on the wrists. Yes, we knew the only thing that will hurt on him would be his pride from getting embarrassed, not his anal from gang rape in federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison. Spoil Sports...
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I'm predicting Carrotop will be arrested for possesseion sometime this year.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Screw possession -- I want him OFF MY TV. How about child porn, or assisting terrorism?...
Guest starvenger Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I'm predicting Carrotop will be arrested for possesseion sometime this year. I don't think you can be arrested for possessing an unfunny 'comedy' act copied from Rip Taylor and Gallagher...
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Tell me Carrotop doesn't look like he lights it up.
Guest Smues Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 If Carrot Tops goes so is everyone involved in the making of "Chairman of the Board". NO WAY anyone had a clear head when they agreed to make that picture.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 *Hilarious mental image of Carrot Top high on pot comes into head*
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 It's not that much of a stretch, although I would never want to smoke up with Carrottop. I think I'd be forced to throttle him into the great beyond, even in that rather docile state of mind.
Guest MD2020 Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 I'm surprised at this. Shouldn't the Dell guy have known that pot is a Gateway drug?? Thank you. I'll be here all week.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 That was some funny shit, there.
Guest CanadianChris Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 "Dude, you're getting a cell!"
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Damn you MD, I'm jealous...
Guest MD2020 Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Damn. My conscience is getting the better of me. I stole that joke from some guy on fark.com. He or she should get all of the credit. However, since I stole it in the first place, I have no problem with y'all stealing it and using with friends and loved ones.
Guest papacita Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 I'm surprised at this. Shouldn't the Dell guy have known that pot is a Gateway drug?? Thank you. I'll be here all week. LMFAO~!
