Guest Shaneomac Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 For me, I'd have to say that my 2 favorite Curt Hening moments were when he slammed the cage door shut on Flair's head and turned on the Four Horsemen at Fall Brawl 97. And the way he passed the torch to Bret at SS 91 in their classsic encounter.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 My favourite would be when Hennig turned face on Primetime Wrestling in November of 1992
Guest treble charged Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I didn't really start watching wrestling until he became Flair's 'associate', but him turning face and becoming Savage's tag partner for Survivor Series '92 was pretty damn cool. Also, seeing him wrestle live last March at a SmackDown taping in a Heat match against RVD for the IC title.
Guest eiker_ir Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 my favorite is definitly the match with Bret at SS 91, just a great match and one of my favorites of all-time oh man... ...i still can't believe it.....
Guest Retro Rob Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 His appearance in the Rumble match last year (FINAL THREE!) was also great.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I thought his appearance in Rumble 1989 was cool too. He was #4 and waiting for him was Ax, Smash, and Andre the Giant. Needless to say, he took his sweet ol time getting to the ring. He bumped around like a madman, dumped one or two guys out, and became the inaugural PPV Rumble Ironman. He lasted around 25 minutes. Everything else mentioned was GREAT stuff, just wanted to bring up something a bit different. R.I.P. Curt Hennig
Ultimo Dugas Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 One moment that personally sticks out in my mind is when Henning wore Flair's robe to the ring during their feud in WCW.
cawthon777 Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I remember watching the face turn on Prime Time. Great TV...just great TV. I also loved the Raw where he jumped HBK outside the Manhattan Center and threw him into the windsheild of a car - with fans swarming all around them. That night, HBK had to defend the IC title against Jim Duggan in a lumberjack match and came out to the ring on crutches ... until Perfect punked him and thus proved that the "injury" was a fake anyway.
Guest The Notorious CRD Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I have two favorite Curt Hennig moments. The first is from SummerSlam '91 where he put Bret Hart over for the IC title in one of my favorite matches of all time. The second was seeing him return to WWE at Royal Rumble '02 and putting on a show that convinced WWE to sign him soon after. Sure, it didn't last, but Hennig proved he could still go. R.I.P. "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig. You'll be missed.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Favorite Hennig moment was when he was a face and wrestled some jobber that decided to mock the whole Perfect schtick complete with the gum swat. Jobber got some decent offense and even got the Perfect Plex, but Perfect was all "fuck that" and kicked out at one. He proceeded to kick the crap out of the jobber and won with the Perfect Plex, but not before spouting "Now I'll show you a REAL Perfect Plex!" to the crowd.
Guest papacita Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Well, when I first started watching wrestling in March of 91, the first match that I tuned into was, ironically, Mr. Perfect Vs Rocker Shawn Michaels on PTW. His face turn on Heenan in 92, as well as the retirement match with Flair on one of the early Raws (not to mention his brawling with Flair all over the Mannhattan Center the week before). I also LOVED those skits he'd do where he tried to show the world that he was the perfect athlete, especially the one where he threw the long bomb to himself. I must've tried that about a million times when I was 10 or 11...damn it's sad to see he's gone.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 The Loser Leaves WWF match with Flair form 1993. A classic.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I said it in the WWE forum, but will say it again: Curt and Von Raschke vs. the Road Warriors, from 1985, where the Warriors incite a riot by attacking Curt when his head is stuck in the ropes. Certainly not a Mr Perfect-workrate classic, but one of the things that made me a fan when I was a little kid.
Guest treble charged Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I'm actually watching that match right now on this Road Warriors AWA tape that I have. The crowd's just going insane as they fight through the audience at the end.
Guest BifEverchad Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I have two particular Hennig memories... - The first being the promo he tried to cut before his match against Lex Luger at Wrestlemania IX. Watching him so excited, nervous or whatever as he staggers through that promo is hilarious to watch. "The Lexercist...the Lex......the Lexercist Nars Luger! Ah, Forget it!" *as he smiles* If you don't know what I'm talking about, go back and take a look at it if you can. Its worth the time to see it. - The second being apart of this WWE Return Tour 2003. Toronto, Ontario. 68,000 fans. Sunday Night HeAT before Wrestlemania X8. Who was the first person to come down the ramp? Curt. You had to be there LIVE to experience it. The pop he got as he was the first 'superstar' to start Wrestlemania, was.......well, 'Perfect'.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Definitely the two awesome matches with Bret. 91 Summerslam and 93 KOTR, which was every bit as good of a match as 91, minus the atmosphere. The perfect athelete promos were absolutely brilliant.
Guest Si82 Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 My favourite would be when Hennig turned face on Primetime Wrestling in November of 1992 As far as Hennig moments go that was a classic. I also liked his showing in his return at Royal Rumble 2002.
