Guest O.J. Hart Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I always wondered if he did. I forget if he ever did. Can someone help me out?

You you'd do that but I'd make every stupid comment imaginable, like so. As far as making it to the major leagues, he most certainly did not DO IT! Maybe he would've been better had he not kept running from the base to the locker room to get on a computer and tell everyone how he just scored. And when all was said and done, the whole ordeal was short and painful for the other people involved, but MJ didn't seem to care.
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Am I the only one that's heard that he "retired" from the NBA for that time because he was going to get suspended from the NBA for gambling infractions, and was allowed to retire to circumvent the image-hurting suspension? Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I've heard that rumor.
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Tracked down Jordan's baseball stats. He just played one year for Birmington, the White Sox' AA affiliate. He hit just .202 in 436 ABs, with 3 HRs and 51 RBIs. Incidently, 30 steals. I figure he'd hit around .160 in the big leagues. Good thing he went back to basketball. Yeah...And It's True...NBA pretty much told him"Take advantage of your father dying". Why would he suddenly retire after ZERO indication of desires to retire... Guest razazteca Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Michael Jordan = Pete Rose in the gambling on sports but the big difference is that Jordan somehow someway got the media to look the other way. And no MJ did not make the MLB but there are some basecall cards of him in baseball uniform.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I've also heard those rumors. Jordan's swing was horrible, and he had no chance to make it to the Major Leagues.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I've heard that rumor, but it sounds a little conspiratorial for me. Maybe it's true, but we'll never know now. Jordan had good speed, and he's a tremdenous athlete, but he just wasn't a good baseball player. Playing basketball is a lot different, and it showed everytime he went out there. His swing was too long and too slow, and that's basically what doomed him. Had he spent a year or so learning a tight, compact swing, he might have gotten higher than AA.
