Thanks for the link. For those too lazy to look, the post down below sums it up. From what I've read of him, I don't understand why he got banned. But after reading this, I'm sure Rob did other things mere mortal posters like me don't know anything about...

You know, I'm not going to pretend that I know all the details but off the top of my head I'd say there's a damn good chance that Rob hasn't gotten as fair a shake as he could have gotten. Sure, he has controversial views and opinions, but he isn't the only one. Not by a long shot.

 

Rob showed me the thread where he went off on some guy and I have to say that it appeared to me (as I remember. I'm not going back to find it again, so do point out to me if I am wrong) that he was majorly baited. If Rob had ever said, "I hate jews" or, "I hate n*ggers" then I could understand it. But saying that he was flame baiting simply because he posted his ideas about something is ludicrous. I like Pepsi. The next time somebody posts a thread in the food folder about how awesome Coke is, I don't take offense and see it as flame baiting.

 

Now yes. Rob went off. He flamed big time, I saw that too. If Dames says it was his last warning, then that's it. As an Admin of two other boards I certainly understand that. But I've watched people bait the hell out of Rob without getting spoken to, and that number just goes up if we're going to count posting a view or idea that isn't popular as baiting.

 

I don't support Rob's particular views on the holocaust. But I do support everyone's right to voice their opinion intelligently without it being labeled as flame bait when others do it and don't get hit for it. If that is how things are done around here then prosecuteth me. Because it will be a cold day in hell before I ever hold back on voicing my views for fear that it's a flame bait.

I think it mostly boils down to all the warnings he was given.

 

Plus there's a difference between "I don't like Pepsi" and "I think the Holocaust is a bunch of BS."

It's Rob fault he got baited. A lot of posters were pissed off that Rob would start threads, people would respond and he would flat out ignore them or claim their sources were biased or taken out of context.

 

Whenever he made statements he often said stuff like: Oh I don't have to do that.

 

He didn't just get flame baited for having controversial views. He got flame baited for not being able to back up his controversial views.

Well I don't know much about the flaming against him since I wasn't involved in it. All I knew about was the holocaust thread.

Like I said, I trust Dames that Rob used up his warning quota. No problems there.

 

My point is that if alot of people don't like you, Bob, because you have a fanatical love of Regal or something, are we supposed to ban you? No. Didn't think so. Simply because alot of people don't like someone is no reason to ignore it when others flame bait. Especially since you're ignoring the rules set forth to govern this board. If you're going to ban Rob, then warn whomever baited him. That seems pretty fair to me. If you're going to hold Rob accountable, hold the others involved accountable too. That's all I'm saying.

But- when someone starts anti-Regal thread I always go and back up why I like William Regal and why he is my favourite wrestler. I keep dialouge with people in the thread and it gets some good discussion going. Rob starts a thread on Gay Pride Parades. People respond and comment on his views on homosexuality yet he completely ignores it and goes off on Tyler. When I pressured him to respond he claimed he didnt have enough time which meant he shouldn't have started threads like that in the first place.

 

Now if I was to start a thread on why I like Regal so much. I would know I would get negative feedback to my opinion and I would be sure to try to back it up as best as I know

Tyler called him anti-semite- yea that's a not a nice thing to say but some of Rob's posts made him out to be that way. Rob could've just ignored Tyler or tried to defend his views but instead he just whined like a little baby. If someone called me an anti-semite (Well I'm Jewish but still) I would try to point out that I am not one instead of just going FUCK FUCK FUCK YOU. Tyler probably shouldn't have flaim baited him but maybe he found some of Rob's statements hurtful or offensive. I certainly did.

 

 

Should Tyler have flaime baited him? Probably not.

Should Rob have flamed back? Definetley not.

 

Rob dug his own grave and I really don't feel sorry for him
