Kurt Angle Mark Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 After Raw went off the air, Steve Austin came to the ring. He got a huge pop, not surprisingly. He gave Chief Morley several stunners. Chris Jericho came to the ring to drink beer with Austin, and Austin gave him a Stunner, too. credit: PWtorch.com
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I wish they put him on TV. (
Guest BifEverchad Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Why the hell did they do that? Either put him on RAW, or wait until No Way Out...
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Maybe cause they gave the fans such a shitter of a show. They earned that by sitting through that crap.
Guest BifEverchad Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Maybe cause they gave the fans such a shitter of a show. They earned that by sitting through that crap. What the fuck do WE get for sitting through that shit??
Guest treble charged Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Well, you can change the channel, for one thing.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Maybe cause they gave the fans such a shitter of a show. They earned that by sitting through that crap. What the fuck do WE get for sitting through that shit?? The option of changing it to Trading Spaces. They paid to see such crap...cut them some slack
Guest bob_barron Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Damn- That sounds like the greatest suprise ever
Guest BoboBrazil Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Here is a more detailed report from lordsofpain: Bischoff calls back McMahon and ask for another possible way that he could keep his job, McMahon walked back down and before he coudl speak (Glass Breaks) and Austin makes his way to the ring, AUSTIN IS BACK!!! Bischoff gets down into a Kung Fu like stance and Austin kinda laughs, as Cheif Morely tries to sneak in to get Austin. Austin spins, BOOT and THEN...STUNNER!!!, Bischoff bails. Beer flies into the ring, cans crack...btw the entire staple center is deafening at this point!! Another Stunner for Morely. Y2J comes down the ring, singing the praise of Austin. Calls him the mayor of LA, the king of the city that never sleeps, the ruler of the big apple, the senator of cow town (WHAT chants all through out). Jericho tells Austin that he wants to have a beer with the "Cowboy", Austin just stearing him down at this point. Jericho says one of the funniest lines of the night, "Come on Cowboy! What'd ya say Sailor?" Austin calls for a beer. Jericho calls for a beer. Austin "An-An!" I am the only one that calls for beers. Calls for a beer gives it to Jericho. Jericho drinks, STUNNER to Jericho! Austin drings about a million beers. Goes up nearly throws the camera man of the ramp. Drinks a beer with JR! Austin back to the ring. Morely is up and pleading for Austin to leave him alone. Austin smiles calls for a beer, hands it to Morely, Morely drinks it....and.....STUNNER to MORELY!! Austin drinks more beer...and that the night. I can't explain to you how loud the staple center got, I didn't even realize I was on my feet screaming my throat raw for him. Made a subpar live show, easily the best show I have ever seen live.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Well the return of "What?" will make me turn off WWE TV's. If they're going to edit anybodys heat, get rid of the "What?" shit, becuase I and probably all of you will go "What? Is on the other channel?"
Guest Choken One Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 What never bothered me...I dunno why...
Guest Creepy Crawl Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Heres some pics I found . I'm a happy man now .
Guest MixxMaster Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 great...just what we need. a solid CONCRETE ceiling. boy, I can't wait to see nothing but punch-kick-stunner-ing the whole damned lockerroom over and over and over, and having so much of the show devoted to another egocentrical asshole...move over HHH, there's a NEW assclown in town!
Guest Creepy Crawl Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Sorry about the size of the screen guys my iamge program is screwed .
Guest Mole Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 That is still sweet. Well, Austin IS back fellas.
Guest NoCalMike Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I aint gonna lie, the first time I see Austin in the ring, despite my Smart Mark ways, I am definately gonna mark out, but with the evolution stable started up, the last thing raw needs is ANOTHER invincible worker that never jobs.
Guest bravesfan Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Any chance we'll see footage of this pop up soon, on the internet? I mean, I've seen people put "feeds" on VHS tapes, as well as on Kazaa (dark matches, etc.) Nonetheless, it would be cool just to see how the crowd reacted to his entrance music.
Guest treble charged Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 I wouldn't be surprised if this footage is an extra or an easter egg on the No Way Out DVD. Hell, I'd buy it just for that.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Nicely, I thought this reeked of a hoax but there we are. THANK GOD.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Holy shit, I'm even marking out just from seeing those pictures.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 They probably did it after Raw to gauge the crowd response. Last thing you want is to have him at the ppv and he get booed like a Rock return. Also, it was a smart decision not to give it away free on live tv. They should now get some additional buyrates for the ppv.
Guest The Tino Standard Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Hard to tell for sure from the pictures, but it looks like Austin has a spiffy new shirt that will coincide with his return. Also, I don't have a problem with this because at least now I know if I buy the NWO PPV, Austin WILL be there and this isn't some elaborate hoax that's been going on. He's definitely back, baby. Also, look in those pictures and you'll see that the cameras WERE rolling. I'd say this is definitely ending up on a DVD somewhere.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Hard to tell for sure from the pictures, but it looks like Austin has a spiffy new shirt that will coincide with his return. I heard he was wearing a "What?" shirt.
Guest DragonflyKid Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 It looked like a new design and not a WHAT? shirt. I doubt the WWE and Austin would be stupid enough to have Austin violate his probation in public. He was probably drinking some non-alcoholic beer like he has done in the past or just something they'll pass off as beer. The untelevised Austin return was a good idea, it will get fans talking and they'll know for sure Austin will be back at NWO and that the WWE isn't just teasing his return without any chance of payoff.
Guest evilhomer Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 The man of 1001 fueds gets another? Austin will probably end up on Smackdown, but it would be good to see him work a program with Jericho. Well, it would be nice to see Jericho with the World Title, but since that ain't gonna happen anytime soon, at least he'd be in the upper card, even if he is doing jobs. This was a good move on the part of WWE. They can now be pretty sure that Austin will get the huge ovation without worrying about booing like Rock is getting. Plus, it sent 18,000 people home unbelievably happy after boring them to sleep for the 2-3 hours prior.
Guest The Hamburglar Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 They're going to do Austin vs evil owner again. I can't fucking believe it. Of all the pointless, clapped-out stories they have to choose that one. I cordially piss all over Austin vs Bischoff. It will be shite, as will Austin vs Evolution.
Guest Austin3164life Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 The toughest SOB is back, and that's the bottom line. Austin's apparent match with Bischoff is probably a way for Austin to get a little bit of feel for the ring and to possibly put an end to this split bullshit.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 The brand extension is the best thing in the business today IMO. RAW seems to be slowly getting better occasionally and I would hate for Smackdown to get cut off at the knees
