Best/worst "experimental" sandwiches

Recommended Posts

Guest Dark Lotus

White Castle's had the market on those mini hamburgers for years.  They're the SHIT.  Why can't we get White Castle restaurants in TX?  I know you can buy the burgers in stores, but it just ain't the same.

where talking about experimental burgers that suck, and no one said the chicken parmesan, like i said on the old board, anyone who knows italian food would be personally offended by this

How can you say this!?  I LOVE the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich from McDonalds.  It SO rules.

Regarding my fun fact from earlier:

It may not have been Brooklyn, but I'm pretty sure it was in New York.

And that was pizza as we know it today.  It's origins (in different forms) are in Italy.

Jack in the Box's Ultimate Cheeseburger, no "secret sauce" or extracurricular garbage, just the cheese, burger, & bun. Nummers.

We had a Breakfast Muffin thingy over here in Australia, Called an Outback McMuffin. Which was An Omlette with Capsicum and Onion in it with Bacon and BBQ Sauce, it's the most god awful thing I've ever eaten.

Yes, I'm pretty sure you're right. The pizza we all know and love today was created in Brooklyn by New Yorkers who were either from Italy, or generations earlier had family who came from Italy to America.  It's not an orignal creation, more like a bastardized verison of an orignal to be more appealing to Americans.

best- pizza hut's triple decker. it had 3 layers of awesome cheese instead of 1. and McDonald's pizza, it was in during the early 90's, and was only available in certain states as a testing to see if people liked it.

worst- rodeo burger at burger king. it was brought out to support the release of "Army Men". It was disgusting, it had a burger patty, a chicken patty, barbecue sauce, and oinon rings on it. thats the worst thing i ever ate, i threw it up in about 2 hours after having the worst taste in my mouth and worst feeling in my stomache for awhile.

Well, up in some parts of Canada, on the East Coast at least, they sell a "McLobster" Sandwich.

I've never had one myself; I don't like Lobster or McDonalds.

However, the really creepy part if that they make sure to advertise that it's made from 100% lobster meat.

Yet they NEVER claim to have 100% real beef in the burgers.

Sick.

If the topic is fast food via experiment, one lesson I learned a very hard way one night (after SuperBrawl 99 i think) A friend of mine and I decided to drive back up to college each with a 10 sack of White Castles, and an 18 pack of beer. Needless to say I missed my classes the next day and it was NOT due to a hangover.

I believe that chop suey also originated in New York.

But I digress.

McWrap sandwiches are pretty gross, aside from the veggie one - there's something about the cold cuts that doesn't taste right.  And the bacon-sausage-cheddar McMuffin is nowhere near as good as one would hope.
