Guest Renegade Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 "Following the lead of Square and Enix, two further Japanese giants have announced intentions to merge later this year. Games publisher and developer Sega and Sammy, a company successful in the manufacture of 'pachinko' pinball machines, are expected to officially unite this October, with the resulting company expected to be worth around $2.4 billion. Sega will have a 54 percent stake in the company. A joint statement reads: "By combining both companies' technological and developmental abilities, Sammy's high growth power and Sega's global brand power, we will be able to address the needs of a large range of global customers spanning a wide age range." In addition, Sega also cut its profit forecasts for the coming year by a massive 90 percent, but the merger is expected to bolster the company's financial status, following a string of reported losses. The new company will be headed by current Sammy President Hajime Satomi, with a formal announcement expected next month." So does that mean we'll get Sonic as a hidden character in the new Guilty Gear games?
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 The only Sammy game I remember playing (I loved it) was an NES game called Vice: PROJECT DOOM. That game was awesome. What great games were Sammy responsible for? I really never heard of the company after Vice.
Guest Renegade Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Guilty Gear X and XX are pretty good
